Bella barca. Ma gli armadi?
Ho avuto modo di noleggiare il Lagoon 40 ( 4 cabine 4 bagni). Quanto riportato nel video non è del tutto veritiero. I spazi interni non sono poi così larghi come descritto, in 8 persone abbiamo dovuto togliere il tavolo interno per muoversi. I bagni sono strettissimi ed il lavabo inesistente….provate a lavarvi il viso…..impossibile perché sbattete la testa sullo specchio e l’acqua cade a terra. Le cabine hanno un piccolo armadietto poco più grande di una scatola di scarpe. Ma la cosa peggiore sono i soli due oblò in dinette…..non passa un filo di aria!!! Ma perché non fate in modo che sti vetri si aprono del tutto? Almeno potreste inserire qualche oblò sul celo della dinette! Inoltre per chi è abituato alla barca, in pozzetto ti muori di caldo anche in navigazione. Il Cat crea un muro il quale non permette passaggio di aria ciò che non accade in barca a vela! Quindi, quando evidenziate tali aspetti, non enfatizzate troppo le caratteristiche di spazi e coibentazione perché non siete veritieri. Per concludere mi chiedo….ma sti catamarani sono realizzati per andare al polo nord o sono per crocette estive?? Riflettete Lagoon
Tutto è sempre relativo, noi facciamo le prove delle barche e possiamo giudicarle solo in confronto ad altre barche della stessa dimensione. Il Lagoon 40 per le sue dimensioni è molto spazioso, ha 4 cabine e 4 bagni. Le cabine di poppa sono molto grandi. Se lei lo compara con l'Excess 11, la barca è grandissima. Per quanto riguarda l'areazione. Le cabine di poppa sono molto bene areate, mentre per la dinette e il pozzetto siamo d'accordo con lei, non circola aria, ma li, per quello che riguarda il pozzetto è una disposizione propria del catamarano, in parte ovviabile solo mettendo una porta a prua, ma su di un 40 piedi non si può fare a meno che non si metta un pozzetto a prua come fa Balì. Per le vetrate apribili in dinette è una questione di spesa. Fare più finestrature significa cambiare la struttura della barca e le spese salgono.

Attendiamo con ansia una prova in mare per capirne meglio il reale utilizzo.
L'estate scorsa eravamo tra l'Elba e Capraia a bordo di un Lagoon 50 e c'era mare mosso (almeno per me era molto mosso) il blu non si vedeva più si vedeva solo la schiuma bianca che correva da onda in onda e questi muri di acqua che ci inseguivano e il vento che fischiava. Se fossi stato su di un altro catamarano avrei avuto molta paura, ma quella barca dava una sensazione di sicurezza e stabilità che mi ha permesso di godere in pieno della scenografi di quel mare burrascoso senza doverne subire la paura.

Ho visto un 45, mi pare del 2011, ed era pessimo, a partire dal fatto che molte parti strutturali, paratie in particolare, non fossero accessibili se non demolendo il mobilio, peraltro orrendo. La giunzione scafo-coperta era assolutamente approssimativo, affidato a due dita di adesivo bicomponente, con segni di infiltrazione di acqua e ristagni in recessi inaccessibili. Boh, saranno migliorati... .
Lagoon have thrown out all the basic principles of multihulls. Which is high strength, low weight, good sailing ability and definitely no mini keels. Catamarans should be built as a monocoque structure. Not like IKEA furniture. Lagoons are great as a charter boat, but definitely not safe to sail around the world, all the broken bulkheads etc. Decks peeling off, it goes on and on. Just keep them in flat water.
If I buy an Audi 8, it's not to take part in the Paris Dakar. To say that the Lagoon is not a catamaran, or that these boats go against all the principles of multihulls, I think is profoundly wrong. Every product is built to satisfy the customer. If we suggest to the owner of a Lagoon 46 that he take a month's holiday in an HH 44, he will tell us that we are crazy, that he doesn't want to spend a month in a tuna can. The same will happen, from the other point of view, if we suggest to the owner of an HH44 that he should sail a Lagoon 46 for a month. Knowing boats means knowing the purpose for which they were built. For us, judging a boat means seeing if it fulfils its purpose at the right price.
Cat svn, 100% agree with rustie4242, given the amount of lagoons that have so many issues some really quite dangerous, I'll take the hh44 or any other cat over a lagoon every time.. Quality and after sales care is shameful. The channel travel sketch shows just how bad these boats are, their boat should never have been sold for that matter even put in the water....

Nessuno fondamentalmente… eccetto gli hobie cat o classe A …secondo il mio parere sono ottimi solo da charter .. per il resto costi enormi sia di acquisto che di mantenimento e gestione…certo la scelta di produrre questi mostri implica domanda .. il comune mortale non può per metterselo mentre ci sono sempre pochi ricconi che possono acquistarlo o compagnie charter.. infatti il mercato nautico sotto i 12 metri è fermo ormai.. quello che apparteneva alla classe media ormai scomparsa….

Lagoon cats are only to be sailed in lagoons. Probably will crack under the mast after a few thousand miles. Terrible reputation for quality. Parlay revival sailing along in 15 kn and spinnaker ripped the foredeck off. These guys are bullshitters.
But if these guys are liars, as you say, why are there several thousand Lagoons sailing around the world? NSS, the first Lagoon dealer in Europe, is also the first charter company in Italy and they have a charter base in the Caribbean, every year they send 5 or 6 catamarans by sea from Sardinia to the Caribbean and bring them back at the end of the winter and they've never had any major accidents other than sailing or orcas. The Lagoons probably won't be able to do what boats like the Outremer or other offshore cats can do, but on the other hand they cost half as much and are twice as comfortable. I think the important thing is to know what kind of boat you are talking about. If you expect a Lagoon to do Cape Horn in rough seas, you are probably in the wrong boat. If, on the other hand, you want a Lagoon for 30 summers in Sardinia or Sicily or Spain and a couple of round-the-world trips through the straits, then a Lagoon might be for you.
Because their cheap and built for the charter market where their used for a few years & then onsold to some poor schmuck to deal with their poor build quality! 😊

Non avete mai pensato di costruire un Lagoon al di sotto dei 10 metri, per permettere ad un platea più ampia di persone di acquistare un Lagoon meno caro e senza patente?
Non pensiamo che la Lagoon farà mai una barca di questo tipo. Il cat più piccolo che fanno è il 40 piedi, sul quale hanno margini molto ridotti, sotto di quello non hanno nessun interesse economico ad andare. Però ci sono altri catamarani che possono avvicinarsi a quello che cerca lei. Adventura 37 è una buona barca e costa molto meno di un Lagoon, oppure il Calita che è l'unico catamarano natante costruito sino ad ora.

SI prepara tutto prima. In un solo giorno va iniettata la resina, la velocità dipende dal numero di pompe che si usano, quindi si, si riesce a farlo in un solo giorno.

Che sappiamo noi, quest'anno una catamarano in ingresso è stato attaccato dale orche e ha riportato danni al timone, ma altrimenti, solitamente, i trasferimenti avvengono tutti senza problema.Consideri che a bordo sono tutti professionisti che fanno quel tragitto più volte l'anno.

This video is very interesting. I always wonder how a catamaran is built. I was on a Lagoon 46 last week and now I know a bit more about this boat.
Their interiors are made outside the hull and dropped in you can never get behind the panels without cutting through them. The modules are only attached to the hull with blobs of glue and not fully tabbed. These are designed to be quickly and cheapest build.😊
