Author of nearly 70 books under different names (Adam Jeremy Capps, Lucifer Jeremy/Damuel White) all of which are free online. I also create video games, video game music, and books based on good new video game making ideas. As for my books, they include a thesaurus for elements in video games, my notebooks of new video game ideas (hand written & scanned in, colorful, with 300 new, unused ideas for games- not synopsis but element based), Then the occult, Satanism, my gray sided work on Christian Satanism, and, conversely, purely Christian books, and also books about 5 planets I envisioned (there's Sefra, Link, Pippy, Orion, and Ler.) All of them are 100 % free as ebooks. Naturally I couldn't make the paperbacks and hard backs free. As it is I set the revenue to 0 for myself to make them as cheap as possible, however. And they are in the public domain from the start as I wished them to be.

This has been a long time coming. The work on it has been almost every day for four months, for about five hours a day. It is done though and I am happy with its outcome. I didn't cut any corners, I did what I set out to do even when learning certain things was quite frustrating. But here it is and I have it available for free. Just look it up on archive, "Damuel" with my name: Adam Jeremy Capps/ Lucifer Jeremy White.
This is a Metroidvania game with many areas, five weapons, potions, MP and HP, lots of sprites, full music, spells, bosses, new abilities over time, and everything you would want from a Metroidvania. I created it all from scratch.
Hope you enjoy, feel free to share, and thanks for any reviews. If anyone wishes to continue my work on this project I have made that possible as all of the assets and the GBStudio project file can also be found on the two sites listed above. In fact sharing my files would be appreciated! It isn't about money for me.

Some notes to mention: hit detection was disabled for this video so that I could get through the levels without dying. Are you going to add a HUD for gameplay?
Yes, I just disabled the health variable decrement here to get through these areas w/o dying. Normally a heart with an exclamation mark appears when the player is low on health.

I finished the maps yesterday. I gave it about 32 levels of 8 areas (8 areas 4 levels each) which many game Boy games have. Sprites and music are done, time to program!

Hey, a tip for using single voices on the melody, if you have the same melody playing on the second square channel but delayed by one step you get a nice reverb or echo effect! Glad to see people from more traditional composition methods dabbling in retro trackers, I'm actually doing the opposite myself and moving from trackers to trying to compose sheet music Another trick is to use a really fast arpeggio to play chords the second square channel
Thanks for the advice! Yes I knew that the channels could have different speeds but have not tried it to see the effect yet, but will. Reverb/ echo will help. I have been writing sheet music since the age of 17 & recommend Muse Score, or if you want to pay some money, then "Print Music," is a great software for that.

Don't know why I thought this would be a remix of Mario RPG's 'The Forest' lol. This is still a really cool song. Super faithfull to original Nes music, I could really see this playing for an 80's adventure game.

@@piedramultiaristas8573 I really like Metroidvanias and RPGs, and will be playing Zelda 2 when I'm in a video game mood again. I write for the first four hours of every day. And although the world around is falling apart it's hard to see the forest for the trees. People are becoming like "oh, that again," myself included. But things are beyond fixable, at least in America.
