Is the gas filter in the tank. I have a 500 TRV and I don’t see a gas filter anywhere!
Have to do same job with my h.o. 500 , thank you so much buddy for so detailed guide
Thanks for the tutorial. A realistic depiction of how much of a PITA these jobs can be.
still got those sled
Sharp diagnosis. Good work.
I saw your CZcams name on your dirtbike now you have a subscriber
I decided I’d try to help my grandpas buddy’s 2005 Arctic cat 650 v2 get back running again he had it sitting up for a few years and all of his fuel hoses/ coolant hoses have corroded or been tampered with before I got my hands on it now I’m struggling with finding out where the hoses route to from the fuel pump on the gas tank, and I don’t know where the coolant lines are ran to the carberator from any help would be appreciated I’ve searched all over the internet for a diagram and none of them are really in depth so they don’t help
I have a 2019 Rancher that gets horrible gas mileage, someone suggested it might be the ECM
Check for any air leaks in your intake system between the throttle body and the air filter….if there is too much air the EFI system will compensate with more fire so not to run lean…..seen that a couple times
@@dabraapshack8754 thanks for the information🙂 I will definitely check that out
@@Bob-gn8ph no problem….best of luck to you, I hope u get er’ figured out cause one of the best things about those machines is the awesome fuel mileage they usually get
Thanks ❤John 3,16 ❤
If you could show and explain now the tank is out a more clear picture or explaination of how or what bolts you had to remove it would be appreciated . Better lighting to . But, thanks fir your time to try slso
Was waiting for the wire harness to be hooked back up lol
I’m not sure but it may have been one of the times that I either lost footage or it was unusable…..sorry about that….
Mine is 180
I have something similar I don’t like it the body looks feels aluminum I just broke my bumper using it as a hitch flimsy even if I get a heavy duty hitch it’s hooks to the aluminum body looks like it could just rip off it’s gotta hold on everywhere just to hold up didn’t even notice a hitch on this skidoo how’s he supposed to pull out his kill if he uses that bumper with any real weight or just in the cold it will snap then all that work you just did will have to be redone I’m sure a lot of people have this problem I know it’s not my first time the old skidoos hitch and body were solid
This sled has been worked hard since this video was made and there have been no issues so far
Awesome fixer up skidoo good for the Bushe
I watch it because I have this sled and I am buying 15 renegade xrs 800r
Been two years… where’s part 2?
God this sucks good luck guys hope 🙏 all worked out
Hi bud I got a question 2003 polaris ran mint changed pull cord and motor racing wicked high 440 fan pro x
That blue 09 800 I used to own that machine had blue flames on it, right.
Thats not this machine
Great off-road, snowmachine mechanic around town.
Exact same thing happened to mine zr800
What’s the psi they should be for a compression test mine has lost rpms and I checked compression and I got 116
You can use maquiers plast-x for windshield and other plastics lens . Thanks for sharing your video. Peace Turtle
mine has no spark in both cylinders what should i check for, kinda stumped
I would start by checking if there is power to your ignition coils by disconnecting them, and putting a multimeter on the connecter that goes to the ignition coils and seeing if they are getting power,if they are then you got bad coils, if they are not then I would just work my way back up the electrical system, checking connections to find out where you lose power
@@dabraapshack8754 where would i put the black prong? just any metal to ground?
What is the point of indexing the plugs? I have a 2012 etec 800R and was gonna change the plugs and never came across that. All I had was old Polaris sleds and just slapped plugs in em when they went tits up. I seen you had the index marks facing up on the one, is that for both plugs? Anyways, good videos, clear diagnosis steps. Easy to understand.
I have run those engines without indexing the spark plugs before without any issues, but according to BRP, the purpose of indexing, those spark plugs is so that the opening of the end of the spark plug is facing towards the fuel injector, and it is supposed to help with longevity of the spark plug and to prevent fowling of the spark plug as well from what I’ve read up on BRP‘s website, but like I said, I have run them not indexed and had no issues. also, there is a specific part number four spark plugs designed for those sleds when torque to the torque spec given by BRP the plugs are automatically indexed
@@dabraapshack8754 Thanks for the explanation. I figured it had something to do with the injection. Keep up the great videos. Sub'd for sure.
Hey bud do you think I could use atf transmission fluid in my chain case for 550f 2009 GTX skidoo
ATF is on the thinner side of what i would run. ATF is not very nice to most types of rubber, or plastic it is also very good at finding it’s way out of containment. I would run something a little thicker if u can but if ATF is all you have it will keep your chain lubed enough to prevent any significant wear in your chain case. In my opinion you can use just about anything wet with at least the viscosity of cooking oil in most chain cases with the exception of high horsepower machines such as race sleds, real mountain sleds, chain case oil in a 550f has a pretty easy job.
as long as it oils the chain and gears. if its to runny, it is no good.@@dabraapshack8754
I know if the fan belt is to tight they'll howl

Hey man I have a question for you if you wouldn't mind I have 09 summit everest 800 and I have no spark and the lights don't even try to flicker when pulled over anything you can recommend to check I checked ohms on external coil seem fine checked red blue wire at Budd port and when pulled gets about 2 to 3 volts
Sounds like it could be an issue with the stator or the voltage rectifier/ regulator but its hard to know ow which one without getting hands on
@dabraapshack8754 ty for the reply wish you where around here to check it out lol I checked the plug with the 5 wires 3 yellow and can't remember the other to colors but I had ohms reading on the 3 yellow I had the volt reg out man that's something else to get at but didn't know how to test if bad cause the service manual doesn't have any specs to check
@@bradstone6093 the 3 yellow wires have to be checked with your voltmeter on AC not DC and should read between 40-70 volts AC between yellow wires
Does it matter which power valve line goes on either side underneath the carb boots?
I do not believe so, but I always keep track of any lines and cables where there is duplicates. I always keep track of which side is which anyway but as far as power valves go, I don’t believe there is a difference.
How do you clean your bottom end without pulling it apart. I have a bottom end that I need to rebuild how do I get rid of the old oil that's in the crankcase. Thank you
Pour gas, diesel, WD40, or any other petroleum based cleaner or solvent in there and spin it around and when you are satisfied with it pour some 2 stroke oil in there and spin it around some more so it is not sitting dry
Put the housing on the head then do your spring trick.
What do you clean your engine parts with? Thank you
It depends on which parts, but most parts I clean in bin of kerosine some other parts. I will clean with brake cleaner or carburetter cleaner, and some things I just clean with dish soap and water.
how much is a blown head gasket replacement
137. Got same sled!
You need to learn how to edit and not fast forward 😂
🤣🤣🤣 yeah I guess so but I’m not the greatest with computers I have always been more of a take shit apart put it back together build shit break shit kind of guy never really messed with electronics too much until I decided I wanted to make a CZcams channel and I basically got a laptop for that purpose and that was pretty well. The first time I ever really messed with computers and still to this day. Basically, the only reason why I ever use a laptop is just to take hours of footage and make it short enough that people might actually watch the shit
I sometimes like the fast forward because I can slow it down and see exact steps for removing parts in sequence or how to get something back together. Depends on what is happening I guess.
@@alfredocarpaneto5976 I actually like fast forwarded videos as well for that exact same reason, but you know to each their own
That 1/8 of an inch will be exaggerated when you get to the tip of the ski by just using the saddle method with it's short length.. Might be better to make a temporary center mark on each ski as measuring points..
Piss poor setup for off roading
Yeah it is more of a street/show lift in my opinion….
the rtv helps reduce vibration on the pickups
Hey bud, are the dual ring pistons better ?
In my opinion they are but everyone has their own opinions. But if one ring makes and keeps good compression and fluids on the sides they are supposed to be on then two should do a better job more efficiently if you ask me
What was that grease called you put in the ring grooves and bearings?
I believe it’s just engine assembly lube.
Do you know any reason why somebody would turn around and pull the belt off to do a compression test?
Possibly just so there is zero drag on the engine and it spins over as easy as possible but in my opinion it is good enough to just pull all the spark plugs and hold the throttle wide open and spin it over a few seconds, read the gauge and move on but everyone has their own opinion on how to do a compression test
@@dabraapshack8754 yeah, thanks for the info buddy of mine is looking at a sled when they did the compression test but he pulled the belt every sled I've ever done. I've never pulled the belt. I wasn't sure if it made a difference or not or that anything to do with the secondary clutch or the primary clutch?
Battery condition is important for power steering on them
Yes absolutely but i always have good shop batteries that i use if I’m diagnosing any electrical issues
Why wouldn't you just cut the rails they're fk'd anyway
Because I straightened them, sanded them, and painted them to match the rest of Vesuvius…..then we got a stiffener kit for them. Also they were expensive and fucking near brand new lol
