A jazz drummer of 35+ years and collector/historian. I have Spinal Muscle Atrophy & have been in a wheelchair since 1981.
I started the first website dedicated to Gene Krupa in 1997, which now has a Facebook group: America’s Ace Drummer Man: Gene Krupa. I also moderate two Buddy Rich groups on Facebook: Buddy’s Lounge & Buddy’s Place.
I also run a Facebook page dedicated to legendary guitarists Tony Mottola & Al Caiola: The Living Guitars of Tony Mottola & Al Caiola. You can find me on Facebook under the screen name “drumuitar”
This channel is primarily centered around jazz & big band with an emphasis on drummers, but also includes a mix of my other musical loves: bachelor pad, exotica, and easy listening/mood music of the 1950s-70s, as well as a smattering of instrumental surf rock and vintage Christmas music.

Charts are in their heads
Cocaine is a helluva of a drug....
Krupa actually loved playing drums unlike all the drummers out there today that have no good honest reason why they took up the art form.
He's still smoked the 🥁 drums 👍
These guys are so HOT they sell the sizzle without the steak.😅
Reminds me of a lower-volume version of the jazz pieces played by "The Fisherman" and his band in the jazz-bar scene of the classic 1949 film "D.O.A."
These men swung so hard and so long the audience lost awareness of time and went with them into major musical history in 1938...........
I had a triple bypass 15 months ago, and seven weeks later, I could barely walk.
If talent was money, these guys would be multimillionaires!
Big city and all these guys…. Stone COLE, mother, fuckers!!!!
Bebop and brushwork.
So hot it will melt the sidewalk! And Hank Jones killing it as always. Really, everyone here was firing on all cylinders. Wow!
Too hot!!
My favorite jazz sounds. Beautiful. ✨️
Smokin'! :)
I wish Jazz was his problem today as it was from 1935 through 1945 sincerely JW Miller😮 I was told that back then the local PBS station has claimed that there were some 30,000 bands on the road at that time and I'm sure they did on what they could to boost the economy and libido
Jazz lovers probably felt as if they'd stumbled onto gold in random places. 30K bands. Wow.
I wish that i could play drums like Buddy Rich
The Great Harry James and the great Buddy Rich
those drums sound like crap
Mr Morello never loose the Rhythmen, fantastic.❤
When the top three, Goodman, James and Krupa made music, it was magical. The best in the world.
Man his parents really worked that kid to death.
Billy died the next year.
Morell playing tasty fills and phrases. A +
A ++
I loved this film, and Danny Kaye was fabulous!
Krupa just was so good, hard to explain, he had a natural rhythm.
Absolutely fantastic music, love Benny and his band ❤

The drum solo is one of the best I've heard. Is "Nardis" the name of the song or the drum solo? Either way I really enjoy this it's another great video by thecrippledrummer 🔥 👍👍
Nardis is the title of the song.
Nardis is the title of the song.
“Nardis” is one of Evans’ most well-known compositions.
@@thecrippledrummerOh' cool! Thank you for pointing that out to me.
Listen to that ride cymbal, wow! Sounds great! That's the bass sound. Totally HOT 🔥 CASHION DON'T GET BURNED!!!
I was thinking exactly about the same thing: what a fantastic ride sound…
@@melsambaIs that a flat ride, maybe? Whatever it is, beautiful stick definition and great playing from Marty!😎
@@melsambaIt is totally! Such a soothing tone to the eardrum. 😅
@@mikeanscombe9883You are right. It is a flat ride. And ya, "beautiful stick definition"...😎
He looks like a kid with a new toy who is learning what all it can do. This is fantastic
Es un espectáculo 💯saludos desde Honduras
The tune doesn't really showcase Buddy as others so, but listen to that ovation!
This was the best of the big bands. Their tight rhythms on upbeat songs was the greatest.(and I love all big bands of the 30’s and 40’s).
Classic Krupa crisp solid and never missing a beat. I listen and can visualize Gene playing spinning the sticks and catching them in the air keeping time and rhythm. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The most influential drummer of the 20th Century. End of story.
Weird camera angles
Don't like the close ups
hi do you by any chance have a good copy of Buddy singing I love Being Here with You from Away We go ? thanks
Nice number. With Count and Freddie.
Gene is an unforgettable performer. 👏👏
"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" , baby! (in first extended drum solo. ) Gene was great.
This is a great interview, I feel like a time-travelller....buddy was a huuuuge influence
Great tone and technical facility by Miller, who isn't really featured much in his own band.
Man, this is music!
When you analyze what this band contributed during the WWII war years.
God made this
He was Frankie Ross then.
SHE WAD TRULY THE BEDT OF THE BEST. RIP ETHEL YOU ARE MISSED.
Very slick!😎
