I did. I looked for aftermarket motors that may be a different shape or size and didn't really find anything. Also, the dealer swears up and down this wasn't possible, but it is and works just fine. After driving with it for a few years, it never was an issue.

its not bad if you work out the minor flaws. It never comes out of the box perfect. there is work to be done to make it nice.

But carid is selling the part as a retailer you choose who’s parts you choose to sell they know what their doing and a lot of these companies own other companies and choose to have em under different names for that exact reason not to take accountability

You can definitely drive with it, It's been on my car for a long time, The only issue I saw was that the edges start to kind of flex and it requires hood pins to hold down the edges while going over 80. Now I know fiberglass is obviously more fragile than metal, What I'm pretty sure it's not illegal to drive with considering the purpose of a hood is to drive with it on

@@danderson200 it's not a good product bud I'm sorry to say.. you spent 1000$ and it's a horribly designed hood it's literally for showroom purposes for like pictures and stuff you know as much as I do that hood is a complete rip off

Oh I'm aware it's not painted, In the video it says I need to sand it down and actually painted but my car was already Matte black So there was no need for actual paint because everything else was just a wrap. Fiberglass is always a pain to work with but I was just disappointed in the quality of this hood

@@danderson200 but your supposed to take it to a body shop to shape it and get it to fit properly. All the flaws you picked out are what you expect from something like that. Carid isn't the only place that sells those. There supposed to be installed professionally by a body shop that works with fiberglass body kits. Alot you have to do a lot of prep to get the proper fitment. But if you know all that then why compare it to a steel part. But if you know all this then cool. I was just trying to help cause in the video didn't seem like you knew it wasn't painted and thought it was supposed to fit perfect. That's what I got from the video. My bad if you knew all that..

An8 or An10 fitting. Holly or FAST fuel rails should come with connections. I actually scrapped this concept and decided to go with a fast lsxr 102mm set up. Worked alot better for a NA engine. To connect the fuel rails together I had a line made to connect the rails in the back behind the manifold.

Bench bleed the master cylinder until the bubbles are gone.

Stock injectors work just fine. They snap right in and the fuel rail fits right on top

It's a fitment game. I had to loosen and re tighten the intake and throttle body until I had a small gap

I agree, Unfortunately there was a huge restock fee for returning this item so I kind of just manipulated it's manipulated it to make it work and make sure it wouldn't cause any issues. Overall with a good set of hood pins I was able to hit over 140 and not have an issue. It just required a little extra reinforcement but at the same time when you buy how do you know it's cheap ya know?

Yes. It doesn't make any sense, I bought a vented hood to replace my hood and had no problems with it. It bolted on like the old hood, it's heavy and lined up with the Body Lines pretty good. Had to adjust a few times on both sides to line it up completely so there was no gap between the fender but my hood turned out great, this guy definitely just got beat on this buy. That's a shame.

Don't think so as they changed the body style of the car now.

Yeah I kept the long runners with a gpi ss2 cam and it's perfect for that get up and go.

Actually it did not work because the power steering pump was in the way. But in short terms you are correct a circle is a circle and will work in the same way

@@danderson200 I didn't think about that. On my 2.3 Maggie setup it work but the throttle body was mounted higher. I'm switching to a procharger with a fast intake and Nick Williams 102 throttle body hopefully that will clear the pulley. Would a smaller diameter tensioner pulley help with clearance?

@@jaimeedwards1269 I didn't switch the pully because it was a matter of the throttle body being further out because of the intake manifold. I mean ot works for now even with that small clearance. Reving the engine and slamming through gears doesn't seem to make it rub so I'm actually not to worried. Just looked really weird after installing. Deffently raised concerns but after few years of being on the car and no damage I've stopped worrying about it.

The car started just fine. Just needed a tune. Nothing was Rubbing on anything

there are ports on the side of the intake manifold that the evap system plugs into just behind the throttle body

No not for the price and the material its advertised to be. Check out my other unboxing video. In the description the wing is labeled as carbon fiber. But it really is fiber glass with a sheet of carbon laminated over the fiber glass. Thats not carbon fiber in my book.

Every interior panel in every car is pretty much plastic clip on. Give it a good pull and it pops right off

My Cervini's hood fit my Mustang like a glove, and with great quality control. Perfect. One problem I can imagine is these retailers get parts from different manufactures, and we don't know where they came from. If we knew that, we could avoid buying the poorly made products, and they would either get better, or go out of business. Either option is acceptable. :)

@@danderson200 the round thing like a balloon it is the booster. Attached to firewall I think.

You shouldn't have to replace that, (the vacuum brake booster), - they hardly if ever go bad.

Because the original O ring that is on the map sensor is not 100% big enough to fill that gap and had to be replaced with a slightly larger one

@@jaysteezy_srt6896 - lucky. My hood was damaged on initial shipment and the delivery driver himself sent the hood back. They offered me a claim to pay for it but I told him I wanted another hood and when it came it was pretty good. Took two months but it was worth the wait.

Hello Nancy, The braided line came from William Oil company in Tacoma Washington. Usually a hydraulic manufacturer or heavy equipment company makes custom lines. In my case William oil company was a heavy equipment repair shop that made special lines for CAT/ John Deer/ PAPE and other equipment. Its not something your going to find online for sure so checking out a shop like this one should help with what you need. It ran me about $70 to be cut and fitted with the proper fittings. Make sure to bring your stock one in for sizing as the new line does not flex as much due to better quality. I also had them make the fuel line that attaches to my rails from the feed line on the said of the engine. I realized the line that came with this manifold was terrible and cheap and very thin so good thing your looking into swapping it out. Hope this helps.

no because your not doing any electric work. Its recommended every time you work under the hood just to reduce the risk of possible touching a wire or something exposed

The bulge is the eletric actuator motor. It didnt come with the bbk throttle body. I hade to take it off the stock and put it together. I'm not sure if after market throttle bodies come with the eletric actuator but this one did not.

I know its unpainted and it's just a primer but it's still chipped and crappy condition for what your paying for. The shipping was a nightmare

@@carlosventura8856 the time it took wasnt to bad but the condition it arrived in was terriable. The box was destroyed and look like the ups guy ran it over or something. I'm sure when the lart left the warehouse it was fine but the delivery process really was the issue. I dont know ... all I know is it is damaged and requires extra work. They really should have a better way of shipping things then the way they have now.
