If u wonder y maab did that is cuz we wasn’t supposed be up there wit Dallas and the regulators but we was doing regulators in the worst way of wat happen in 2021😭 plus the the advertisement was “MAYHEM in the Mecca” and we did exactly that
Understandable, I'll mention it in this next video but I just think the logistics would have been HELL for yall to get in with the two Giants but you guys definitely handled business and cemented yourselves as a top Dawg again
MAAB was definitely suppose to be with Dallas and Regulators. They not in the same category as GAMB.
@@ScoobyDaEuphoGawd Still a couple steps behind y'all, but I think we can agree, still far from the two bands they were matched with respectfully, no?
@Cr4nkCentral they option was to either shine or not shine. A 3 way would have definitely showcase the gap between them. They were louder than Dallas and Regulators but the sound quality was the same, if not worse.
@@ScoobyDaEuphoGawd oh nah I'd have to disagree. I think especially on the field, some of their tone on their power ballads sounded much improved and really well executed (aside from Mellos but at this point that's just a chosen style), I also think their clarity within Trumpet and Eupho phrases was really good. Again not on Y'all level Scooby, but I think they deserve their just due

@@justathought5561 I can agree with those as criticisms forsure, and I did admit to the fact that there’s definitely some bias in anything I give a 3, and for me the harmonies and synergy between the melodies and counters in that song clear for any mistakes or nitpicks I’m ngl🤷🏾♂️

I believe it's best to judge bands based on their current performances, leaving history out of the equation. The judging criteria should include execution, complexity, and creativity, with each area being worth a point.
I can respect that. History & established style can def add some unfairness cuz then we start crowning overachievers and not objectively better performers💯
Jackson’s version of “Like That” is MUCH better than both of these arrangements.

@@ReZi1ient_ the only comparison was in the Mellos (some of which, given many of MAAB’s bandsmen, are from J State) and their style of playing some phrases, which I’m sure you can agree with. Them Boom niggas good baw, I know that, the stylistic comparison is there tho

Great musical breakdown. I think Memphis stick with alot imperfect cadence. I believe the next step or growth are more progressive endings and some perfect cadence . That Say Yes could have used a picardy cadence. Good review tho brother ...keep up the great musical breakdown

I gave New Orleans a slight win over Memphis; giving Memphis' mess ups. However, I will say. I haven't been impressed with anyone's book this year. Or maybe i will say. No band, Gamb, Memphis or NOASB had a really hot song like previous years. Every year you'd hear a least 1 song from either of the bands and think. I can't wait for them to play this or that.. Or, as soon as you hear a song. It's an automatic hit.. Eg. Memphis Search and rescue, Noasb Spend it, GAMB Federal Raid. etc. I got that from none of the bands his year. No song from any band really jumped out for me this year.
As much as I respect that, ofc we had the same overall winner. Do you not feel like NOASB “Going to the Top” or MMB “Say Yes” or “Hit me Baby” we’re songs of that caliber?
@@Cr4nkCentral Honestly no. As far as Hit me baby 1 more time. My High school (John F Kennedy) played it and it sounded better. It was simpler but sounded more like the song. Imo Memphis was doing too much. Say Yes. I thought was going to be 1 of those songs of the Summer. The intro and the beginning was honestly a 10, but they bought the hook down after the t bone part, and brought it back in blasting it. and i hated the ending. It started 1 way and ended as if it was a completely different song. Had they kept the same vibe as the beginning, all the way through, it would have been. Going to the top is a really nice song. But it's nothing that immediately made me fall in love like Moonlight or or Spend it.
