Imagine poking your eye with the 🪛 because of no safety glasses 😂
Very helpful video, especially the tip about pulling the rollers outward to help them into place. I was able to fix a brand-new axle/joint without opening it up, thanks to that tip.
You REALLY should've shown the bend radius on that Goodridge hose. You can damn near tie them in a knot and they don't kink. BMRS is another hose that compares to this.
Just did this job today, the best method is to first remove the belt, then the power steering pump, followed by the belt tensioner assembly and then from there the alternator pops right out without needing to remove the motor mount, headlight, or bumper.
Thank You
6 years old and you are still saving people…. It happened to me late last night and I was stressed. Picked up a new metal strap this morning and it took 5 minutes to fix! Thank you so much for making the video
I don't understand what he did, could you please help explain? So basically the joint got separated and he just plugged it back in?
I'm asking because I had a problem after I removed the axle for a bearing replacement, put the axle back in and the car started clattering around the parking lot /low speed turns. I've just installed a replacement shaft and thankfully the issue is gone. But I'm wondering what happened. I guess I've overstretched the axle when I was removing it?
Not sure what happened in your case, but what you described is what happened to me
@@theFINALc0untdown as far as I can understand, there are small shims built in by factory, inhibiting the joint to fall out. I guess at some point when I stretched the axle, they wore out or something and then the joint can fall out when you turn the steering wheel. Still I don't understand what this guy accomplished by just putting the shaft back together 😅
Staining my wood floors dark (almost black) was THE WORST decision. I find it makes the space feel too dark and it shows dust/dirt. Abort mission!! ;)
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for posting this video!! I was at my wits end on a 2005 Sienna whose axle had come apart. I was going to put another (new) one in, but decided to search and came across this video. Your technique worked perfectly!!! Again, thanks so much!!
So I just got a ruger 10/22 and I want to modify it with a manticore trigger system along with this stock but I'm worried that the extended mag release on the manticore trigger system won't let the gun fit inside the stock correctly. Do you have any suggestions on what you think on upgrading the trigger before applying the stock to the ruger so I'm not spending hundreds of dollars on the trigger I want just to not be able to use the modification
thanks wouldn't figure it out without you ❤❤❤
This helps because I'm over here scratching my head
By outward they mean to get your fingers behind the bearing and pry them towards the end of the spindle they ride it, making the three bearing as far as they can be from the center. Took me about 5 seconds to get mine fixed after watching this. Thanks a million
Thanks for helping me figure out how to take out my RSXs alternatahhh. Didnt know i could wiggle my radiatahhh. You have betahhh methods than most other youtube mechanics.
Looks like the folded stock blocks the ejection port.
NOPE.. the cutout in the butt part goes OVER the ejection port so empties fly right thru it. They thought of that.
Hi have you contact to wack?
Not so “Speedi”
Dude you are a lifesaver, you are still the only video showing how to fix overextended cv axle!!!!!! Thank you.
You're welcome
Thanks! This saved me. Was able to get it alligned on the vehicle. A bit of fiddling but it finally got in because I managed to push the bearings outwards.
You're very welcome. Glad it helped
Those clamps are HORRIBLE. Im a full time tech and needed this in a pinch. Absolute junk. Get a plier and the actual axle clamps for anyone reading this.
Thanks for the video! I was lucky enough that it managed to fall into place after some encouragement.
Isn't the inside of the housing supposed to have a retaining to keep the bearing from slipping out
Exactly my thought
@@orencoen961 there is but I see some model Subaru don't require one when I changed my tribeca axle out it did
I'm not sure of all model vehicles but most often the bearing have c lock to keep it in place and also a bigger c ring/ look to keep the axel shaft cv unit from coming off the cv cup.
Ever do the mod video?
Number 1 tip to go faster, do some cardio, don't eat fast food and definitely quit drinking soda, every lb lost make this thing go faster :D
Bruh.
I only thing I learned from you is that you don't know shit about shit. Here's a good tip for you. Stop making videos dummy.
so my 2015 wrx has play on both sides, is this normal????? i was going to pay a tech to replace the rubber seals cuz it was leaking, and he said he couldnt because he found some play in the bearings
Thanks bro I almost had a heart attack
Useless video , dollar tree mechanic
Thank you!
I don’t like glow bowling any more I can’t see the arrows
The past few days I've been making some -10 lines for a oil cooler I installed on my G8 and everything went pretty smooth. I watched your video 4 or 5 years ago for the first time. I've done the trans cooler lines and the Power steering lines from rack to the cooler then on to the pump. an fitting direct no doubt has the best prices for the ptfe lines.
Glad it helped you. Hoping to make more project videos in the future of what I have going on these days.
Thank you sir!
You're welcome!
Thank you! I was able to turn it vertical and massage the brings back into place without removing the band because of what you showed! Thanks!
How's that gonna make your bike faster?
It's the most you can do for free and things that are commonly overlooked when you just want to turn the key and ride 🙂
@@LMEngineering How does it make your bike faster though?
Proper tire pressure = less rolling resistance. Engine oil properly filled = optimal engine performance (too low or too much is not good) Once you have a baseline then you can get into modifying it further. There are a bunch of fun mods based on mechanical experience.
Where can we buy Honda Ruckus 50cc. in the Phililines.
For crying out loud THANK YOU! No one else tells you how to do this.
My axle came with the vehicle over 18 years old throwing it out a window Rusted bent to hub not sitting flush like some one forced it😆
Lol good luck on repairs
you are an actual god, you helped me lots with a very similar dilemma
Glad this helped you. God made this all possible for us to create things.
My CV seperated (J11 QASHQAI) and I can't get this bastard back in. I've completely fucked myself doing this ball joint, the cv is fucked and now the hub doesnt align with the lower ball joint. I feel like an absolute dumbass
Time to pull the boot back and inspect what is going on. It only costs you a replacement boot strap to be able to see what's beyond the black rubber.
@@LMEngineering I worked it out, the J11 qashqai doesn't have servicable CV joints. They are actually pinched in and are not meant to pull out. I ended up replacing the whole drive shaft
@@messystressy It happens to all of us, don't be so hard on yourself! This stuff is difficult especially without lots of experience
Okay. Thanks this can work
4 years later and you are still helping people. I pulled the joint apart during a ball joint replacement and the convinced me to rebuild it myself. Thanks for the video!
Yessir. Putting positive energy forward is the way!
What is the clip called so I can buy one?
Axle boot retaining clip
How tf did you get the 3rd bolt out the one on the back of the alternator it’s a bitch and a half
DUDE! Do not pound on your deliate CV joint! You want to crimp down on the buckle you just bent over? You have a vice right there. Open the vice, stick the CV joint in there and gently close the vice to squeeze the strap buckle flat. Don't use a hammer. Use the vice!
Delicate? Those things withstand 100,000ft lbs of abrupt torque and your gonna attempt to claim them delicate? LOL
Very helpful thanks bro
You're welcome
You can use woodglut to build it in the cheapest way.
When installed a new cv it stretched as the boot pulled. I pushed it back but how do I know if I disconnected the bearing or is it fine cause it went back in ? Thanks
There's no true way to tell unless you take the boot back off and check, but if you can feel it then you may be able to judge it from there. Can always check and put a new strap on the boot if you are not confident.
@@LMEngineering thanks for answering but it was fine.
Glad to hear it was good!
Thanks! This is exactly what I’m trying to do, you saved me loads of time! John G. Hollis, NH, USA
You're welcome! It's worked well on a handful of jobs so far.
You know
