I started this channel after the crash of 2008. A lot of my patients had been hit hard and many of them had never had to make a dollar stretch before. My first (and way too long) set of videos were on how to save money by packing a lunch. Since that time I have used this channel to share with others savings tips, product review and other things that someone else may find interesting.
If I had not become a doctor I probably would have been a teacher as I love to share knowledge with others. These videos are not highly produced (if you watch one you will know that right away) but that allows me to make them in the tiny little slots of free time that I have.
I grew up in a large family. During those years and as a young adult (OK, actually into my 30s) I had very little money so I have learned how to stretch a dollar.
The title "Saving Savvy" is really a play on words as many of the videos are about saving and some are simply information sharing (savvy).

Terrific video! I have 5 Pentax cameras, 4 are 35mm film cameras and my favorite is my K-5iis which I’m still learning. Your thoughts on this camera are very encouraging and helpful!
I have one of these cameras I've had a really great time with it
Hi Mike, I have latched on to the concept of ‘a camera that is good enough for 90% of what you need’. When you have a camera with you - without being an encumbrance, it is possible to capture those moments that can be missed with a bigger rig. Would you consider a blog with a title like ‘Big pictures from small cameras’? Such a blog would demonstrate that ‘small is beautiful’ and ‘less is more’. I’m thinking of more readiness, more responsive, more intimate, more convenient, more discreet, more unintrusive, and - why not demonstrate a 100 reasons why less IS more??? Every photo submitted to the channel could illustrate a different reason why less is more. Who else likes this idea?
I like your idea. More and more I am aware of the old adage "The best camera is the one you have with you." How many times have I purchased a camera based on some parameter that really didn't make any difference in my picture taking.
Hi Mike, do you have a good supplier of batteries for the G9X?
Happen to be looking at my old Power Shot G9X and came across your video and had to reach out to another Kuna.
Well, hello!
thank you! This helped me a lot
Excellent overview on portable radios! You covered it quite well! I would have also mentioned Eton Grundig and XHDATA radios. Ironically, my best AM FM radio, among the few dozen I own, cost me $40,000.00: fortunately it came with a motor and four tires. Don’t forget satellite radio too.
I was looking for a quality sounding table top am fm radio and was leaning toward the Sangean line of radios. A clock radio would have been a plus. Excellent reception and sound was most important and external antenna hookups was desirable. I found a Tivoli one preowned nearby on Facebook marketplace when I remembered a radio I picked up at the thrift store a few months ago. A Nakamichi TM1. Reception is terrific on both bands and it sounds great with treble and bass controls. It even has stereo sound through the earphone jack! I brought it out and set it up on my nightstand.
All of those are wonderful radios.
do you still have this camera ? :)
Sorry, no
Agfa is a known make back in the day when 35 mm cameras ruled agfa was known for their films and their disposable cameras

Now here in 2024 I recently bought the exact camera and lens you are holding used and in great shape. I have a few other cameras to name a couple the Nikon D7200 which I love to use and a Fujifilm XT-4. I too have a thing for cameras I like to change up now and again. I like the solid build and handling also the colours of the K-5 11. I use XT-4 for birding. I use the Pentax for sites and scenes around town I really enjoy the colour rendering in the photos. The more cameras you have the more spice, that’s the way I look at it. You have to make your passion enjoyable. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Alberta, Canada.
What are all the cycles? What's the longest one?

Have the same Niagara top loading washing machine, works wonderful and is such a simple design. Is the same washing machine sold 10 years ago, so the build quality and reliability is top notch and has a proven design and track record. Works well in combination with a Laundry Alternative Spin Dryer. The top loading feature is super rare with these top loading washing machines. Holds an excellent amount of clothes to wash. It is such a simple operation. No lights of any kind, no beeps when done, basically a mechanical timer and simple water pump.
What's the name of the product to correct the size for the adapter?
I want to start drinking coffee again without it upsetting my stomach
still using my k5, still rocking!
I made the same mistake in buying a cheap flash like this. Threw it into a drawer and never used it.
D300 still going strong in 2024 💪🏻
I recently got the opportunity to upgrade from a77 to a99. Before making the jump I compared some raw samples on the internet, taken under controlled conditions. I noticed that the sample from the a77ii was much darker than the one from the a99, with same aperture and shutter time. I had to turn my exposure 0.45 up in DXO to get the same brightness. So your story confirms my thoughts ;-)
Thank you SO much for this video!
I love my Ninja spin dryer. Just purchased the Niagra washer, because my Krib Bling washer died after 7 months.
You say other flavors are available, but I've never found anything except medium roast.
Sadly, my local store no longer carries Singles.
Looks great, but you've obviously used way too much detergent from that spin water. This machine uses only 1/4 the water of a typical machine so one pod is at least 4x too much! Probably even more since this machine runs 3 rinse cycles.
Thank you. Will give em a try.
I want this over my whirlpool apartment fully automatic washer with wash plate lol bc i prefer front load Type wash
I think 2 rinses are good enough unless if it uses very little water for them then 3 is ok
It does three rinses since it doesn't have a spin cycle. I have this washer and the Ninja spin dryer. This washer does a fantastic job washing the clothes. It does a better job than the washers at the laundromat. Put a knee high stocking over the drain hose and secure it with a rubber band, which will collect the lint and save your drains. Unlike most portable washers on the market, you can use both hot or cold water. You can fit a decent amount of clothes in the washer. I will put in several pairs of jeans, shirts, socks, underwear in there. The Ninja dryer does an excellent job spinning the clothes. It is super fast. I put mine in the shower, so I don't have to worry about water getting all over the floor. After a few minutes in the spinner, the clothes come out damp. I couldn't be happier, and I would highly recommend.

Adobe might be a leader in the field, but I find Corel’s products to be very good. And like anything else, a product is only as good as the proficiency of its user. I can’t stand Adobe’s business model. They chose to focus on professionals. So be it. I am choosing to become proficient at using Corel PaintShop Pro and Aftershot Pro instead…
Hey mike! I am interested in buying this camera, are you selling yours ?
Sorry, not at this time.
“I love playing around with different cameras, it’s just the way I am.” ❤
I absolutely love this washer, I was hesitant to buy one because it doesn't spin but after having it for about a year that's actually what I love about it. Since there's no spin, there's literally no way to overload this thing, if you can latch the door it will run. It easily washes my queen sized comforters. Clothes come out dripping wet so you definitely need a spinner with it though. I absolutely love my washer
I own a Niagara washer. I love it. It's been great for me. I'm a 67-year-old stroke survivor living alone on an extremely limited income. It works just fine and saves me the effort and expense of going to the laundromat. I can even fit a queen-size comforter in it. The spin drier can accommodate the comforter too. The company is nice with their customer support/ warranties too.
I agree!
I have washer, Ninja spin dryer. I can fit a twin comforter in washer no problem. But I can't fit it in spin dryer. How do you get it it fit?
Hi Mike, What a wonderful video!!!!!! Everything was so well explained and clear. I thoroughly enjoyed it all! I have been looking or a 600 Watt pressure cooker and so glad you mentioned the one you have. Your other videos look great too! I am looking forward to watching your other videos on this topic and cameras. Subscribed Thanks for making this video! Katy
Keeping the lid on might make the popcorn soggy because the steam can’t escape. But an excellent video!
I very much enjoyed this vid- thanks!
Wow... Listening to that wash/rinse action I'd have to say these clothes are extremely clean...I'd love to see what's going on inside while it's washing but I think that's impossible. LOL
The different sensor size cameras each have their benefits and drawbacks and it's up to the photographer to pick the tool they need. Towards the end of my career as a 40+-year press photographer I was using my Canon SX60 and Leica V-Lux 114, bridge cameras, to do exactly what you were postulating, sending photos directly from my cameras back to my editors (via my phone) within a few minutes of taking the photos. For once we were beating TV using our online presence. But, at the time, none of our full-frame gear had that capability without taking the time to stop and download your images to a computer. Small sensor cameras don't get enough credit for what they can do in the hands of a good photographer.
I used the Barber Pole almost exclusively until around 2020. It held up perfectly. When cleaned up, it looks new. I love it. During COVID, I was looking for things to keep me occupied, so I started using other razors, including a classic speed razor made the year I was born. That has been a lot of fun, but the Barber Pole was perfect. I'll go back to it and likely rotate it in and out of use.
!!!
Yeah even 150 bucks would be quite steep. Why does Tivoli overvalue their stuff so much? All these radios are basically 200 bucks too expensive. At juuuust around 100 bucks I'd say "Ok, it's a deal". It's quite a shame. Sangean doesn't have anything nowhere as close to this model here. At least not with an analog clock like this. I like the mechanic alarm set and the fact it runs on a single AA battery that even powers the emergency buzzer. I don't need bluetooth because they usually keep the older Bluetooth audio standards that add extra compression to the audio.. Even though lossless is now already possible with the latest BT audio standard, i think.
How loud or quiet is the Niagara? I live in an apartment and need to be mindful of sound. I've read that it's 55 db in TLA's website comments section.
To me it sounds similar to most washers.
I have this washer. It is pretty quiet. Once I leave the room, I can't hear it. This washer is fantastic. It does a better job than the washers at my local laundromat.
Relatively quiet. You can hear when then tub is filling with water, but the operation of the washing machine is not too loud to be annoying. Cycle is around 20 minutes.
It is super quiet. Once I turn it on, I can't hear it if I leave the room.
Does the washer have any sort of lint filter? (I had a Haier and it would block the pipes after several washes. ) Also, I bought a water extractor and it said to only fill it 2/3 full and run it for 2 minutes or less... does the one you have, have a fill and or a time limit? I rent, so I need to make sure that I don't foul up the pipes or run water on the floor... thanks!
It does not have a lint filter like some of the other portable units. It is all automatic, so you can adjust the time and the machine does the rest.
@@Drmikekuna Thanks. You might want to put a net over it to see if and how much lint comes out. Or not. Best!
@@pammerryweather7914 good idea. Now I just need to get past my lazy factor.
I put a knee high stocking over the drain hose and secure with elastic band. It will catch a lot of lint.
Thanks! There is also a lint "screen" out now. @@sharonrinkiewicz3940
Is it still working good?

@@user-ex1fq6oz4p mostly a general info channel from a guy who loves cameras. A bit of this and that.
Just found and subscribed to your channel. I've enjoyed your videos. I noticed your Illinois State hat . My dad graduated from ISU in 1972. Our family kept a horse not far from campus at a place called Roders. I remember watching the progress of the building of the twin towers dorm during my rides on good old Prince. My dad took me to the planetarium on the ISU campus on multiple occasions. That time as you probably remember was during the exciting Apollo era. Those visits sparked an interest in astronomy I still have today. Thanks for your videos and especially your insights on the psychology of consumerism, FOMO, and learning to use and enjoy the equipment one has rather than spending your time searching for the next best spec monster.
Thanks for your comment. My son is an ISU grad.
