Why is the camera so close? Anyway to zoom out on console?

I miss the early days so much.. there was activity all over the map the game felt so adventurous and the future was hopeful.. now it feels so abandoned and lifeless.

However…Visuals and sounds = 11/10. After 2 months of a break I already miss this game, although I’m heavily disappointed by AGS after playing this game for 1.6k hours. The past 6 monthsI I tried WoW, BDO, FF14, GW2, ESO…had a real marathon, but I can’t get that special feeling when being ingame. This game is special, irrespective of the bugs and missing content.

@BagginsTV i think they changed camera and FOV to suit better ARPG style of gameplay rahter than MMO. You may not be able to zoomout like you could. P.S. Action combat games are best played when camera is very close to char

1-60 is the best part of the game. Also Greatsword the way its hold is kinda weird. They could change it to be closer to Dragons Dogma or Elden Ring - Thats how you hold 2handed sword

Not going to lie… the game itself, graphics and all are not the problem with New World. It’s been great seeing the constant evolution of the starting MSQ and overall MSQ. It’s the complete lack of respect for the players and complete inability to effectively communicate, have plans & direction and independence from Amazon corporate. There is no leadership and Scott is just the puppet who just lies for corporate Amazon

Ff14 released 2010 then re-released in 2013 then dlc didn't drop till 2019 then 2021 and now in 2024 sometimes it takes years to build that original hype back up people need to stop batching and just have fun or go play something else you cry baby goblins

Is this just another starting experience revamp or is their new content across the world? I miss playing the game at times but both times I dug my heels in, there just wasn’t enough content at the end game and once a server starts dying it can go quickly.

I'm NGL, I'm excited for New World: Aeternum after cooling off a bit from the initial announcement. I'm disappointed in the lack of content for me as a PC player, but this is what we need to have a chance at sustaining the game long term. Rebrand it, rebuild it. The game has a terrible reputation, deservingly so. If they can get this launch right, and deliver consistent quality updates from there forward, we might just have ourselves a top 5 MMO.

I hope this saves the game because there is no other game like it with these graphics. I will be starting a character when it comes out. There is no point in playing right now. Let’s pray they hired devs that know how to fix bugs and a marketing team that cares about the players! 😅

Tarisland is actually fun. Its a polished fully developed game that is in a justifiable release worthy state. Unlike 90% of other games releasing these days.. I think its crucial that you and tricktrick and the other big streamers left in new world move on from main-gaming new world right now. Vote with your wallets and vote with your engagement. AGS will keep serving you shit on a paper plate if you continue to eat it up every time. Time to show AGS you do infact have some standards. Baggins you were the last remaining big streamer in the NW category and AGS will feel that. I know that isn't why you moved over to tarisland and i'm glad you found a new game that is fun to play, you deserve that. But I also think AGS deserve losing you from the NW twitch category because you were holding 95% of the views of the entire category in the current state.

"Should New World really spent time on these cutscenes and animations?" - Just rephrase that - would it make sense to make a whole new system to support that for LOTR? A very narrative driven IP... if the answer is yes, than yes... it makes sense to put it in New World, the test bed for that game.
