I accidentally got my RDCs in trouble when I got selected to go to some XO call about how to improve bootcamp. I brought up that we didn't really wash our towels that much except for inspections. I thought that was just the way things were at bootcamp and made the comment with the intentions of improving things. Turns out that's not how things were supposed be ran, and my RDCs had me stand outside the fishbowl when I got back.

That's not that crazy Fort Bennings been doing that for years. When I went through we had to chug this nasty shit called cerasport. Tasted like Gatorade that someone pissed in. We'd always do it after breakfast, and if you puked which alot of people did, you had to refill your canteen dump more of that God awful powder in there and then chug it again. And it was never the right ratio of powder to water, it was always watered down which made it nastier somehow.

I went in 2019, and we had to drink a lot, but I highly doubt the intention was to induce recruits to vomit. Some did, some did not. You were "beat" regardless as that's the point. However, there is probably no Navy instruction that permits "forcing recruits to consume water past the point of vomiting".

Just hit 7 years in, put on first last year, and am getting close to finishing my bachelor’s. The brushing teeth thing is relatable. For many reasons I neglected my health. Luckily I was able to get better before any cavities or gum disease. One thing that helps to motivate myself is that one's present feelings, whether it's self-worth or otherwise, are temporary. Your older self will hate you for neglecting your body! :) Cheers brother. Now that Im 30 Im kinda struggling in life with a lot of things man. Kids. Relationships not working. You know work hours. I dont drink but smoke I really thinking now that Im kinda old 30 joining 4 years in the Airforce just to get the benefits for the kids you know. The fact that Im scared of heights and flying is the true about me not joining any branch before I was a little bit younger. And I see you that your 31 retired like chilling you pass the hard part being in the military for years. I think thats hard. You want to MOVE forward also you wanna learn culinary education hey Im a line cook. Then you manage your personal relationships as a man bro your single you can date ANY girl you want. Im kinda stuck. And you after years in the military and same in a relationship is challenging man to move on and I really really admire how you open up about that it truly helps others or me I guess in how to manage things in life as a man. The good news is that the ball will never drop, challenges will arise but you will always be able to fall lower. Appreciation for what we do have or have left will always be the key to keep moving forward. The bad news is that you will never finish improving, we are in perpetual progress towards our personal heaven of which we will never fully 100% reach. I find that comforting, but as a perfectionist and completionist it was a difficult concept to get used to. I suggest adopting stoic philosophies. You helped me with the Navy tremendously, I feel like stoicism as a philosophy will greatly help you.
