Hello! Our short film is about the relationship between a young boy, Bo and his hardworking mother, Yue. Through a moment in time, Bo learns to understand the depth of his mother's love despite the distance her dedication may create. The project was inspired by the shared childhood experiences of the Felt Love team. With the help of many talented underclassmen, faculty advisors and composer, we were able to create a finished 2D animated short using a physical handmade set as our background. Felt Love (2020) - Full + Bonus Ending
Hybrid short film using 2D animation and stop motion over a physical miniature set. The story captures a moment of quiet love between a hardworking mother, Yue, and her young son, Bo. Its goal is to reflect the reality and dynamics of family life, especially within an Asian household. This film was created by a group of artists at San Jose State University in 2020, and is now being fully released after a year and a half of successful festival screenings. The team is grateful for the support and love, and we hope this project will last a long time as a heartfelt memory in people's hearts.

I love this! All the little details add so much to it and the great storyline! The style of the backdrops with the animation isn’t something I see very often but it looks so good!! Plus the sound design is great :D

I liked how the sensitive emotions were portrayed. I could actually feel it.
It’s most awful feeling for mothers to correct insolence in children it really devastates the perpetual love mothers harbor for their children but what to do when they step way out of line sometimes only a tight slap or harsh word to bring their minds to reality which has been voodooed hexed messed with bad peer pressure that sharp jolt brings them to their senses quicker

Je ne comprends pas pourquoi la mère n’à aucun regard pour son fils. Un peu d’attention et un bisou est ce trop ? Pourquoi rendre triste l’enfant ! Un peu d’amour et la vie est plus belle non ?

بمجرد ان يكونوا في مكان مَ يجعلون كل شيء تحت سيطرتهم ليفهموا مايجري فيه. إنهم لا يستطيعون النظر إلى ما يتجاوز أقدامهم، كل عالم نكون فيه يظنون أننا منه بينما يكتشفون لاحقًا أنهم أخطأوا اخطاء فادحة في حق أنفسهم قبل ان يكونوا أجرموا في حق الاخرين، ع سبيل المثال رأيت رجل وامرأة في عالم يتضمن فسادًا من نوع معين مثل ملهى ليلي يقومون ب تتبعهم ومراقبة تحركاتهم وأفعالهم عن بعد وبعد هدير من الشائعات والسيناريوهات والتهم يكتشفون ان هناك سوء فهم اتجاه الرجل والمرأة وان جميع م تخيلوا انه صحيح لم يكن له اي صلة ب الحقيقة إلا في تخيلاتهم وان الرجل والمرأة لم يكونوا ع علم بمَ يجري وأن كل م ظهر منهم هو يخدمهم في مصالحهم التي جلبتهم إلى هذا الملهى الليلي وأن جميع أولائك الحمقى لم يكونوا الا جزء من رواية بنيت ع أسس وهمية وتفاقمت حتى صدقوا بها انها الحقيقة الجازمة لكل م ساهموا في بناءه من حكايات وأفكار واعتقادات مشبعة ب الباطل والافتراء والأكاذيب التي لا تمت للواقعية ولم تكن الا لفافة جهل تنم عن محدودية رؤياهم إلى مختلف الأمور التي لا شأن لهم بها، إنهم هنا مثلما كانوا هناك وسوف يكونوا في مكان اخر حيث نتجه، وشكرًا.
