We haven't used the coil ones before but I would think that if the coil is loose and moving around a lot then over time it could wear the rhodium plating off the white gold. I'm not too sure about palladium though

That is an interesting idea. I can't say I have done this or have experience in this so I don't know how well it will work. I can only guess how it might work. Usually hardwire cables require a ACC (switched power) and a BATT (always on power) plus a ground to be hooked up. In the case of the dome light, you only have ground and either ACC or BATT depending on how the car's power is implemented for the dome light. Because you only have 2 of the 3 required lines, the hardwire cable kit may not power the dash cam properly. The only way I could see it working is using the cigarette lighter adapter cable and splicing it into the dome light. You would have to be careful in getting the polarity correct. You will also likely have to test that the dome light wiring does actually turn off after a few seconds. If it doesn't power down at all, then you would have the issue of the dash cam running until your car battery is dead. Another point to consider is that sometimes the dome lights have a manual switch that allows for On/Off/Auto. You would have to set this accordingly so that the power is delivered as expected. One other thing I thought of is whether the vehicle properly and completely cuts power from the dome light. If it doesn't and has a small amount of current passing through when "Off" then it could cause unwanted power drain or maybe even damage to the dash cam. Hope this helps.

No problems for the security cameras, motion sensors or solar panels. All still holding up nicely since they were installed and the video was published.

From what I can tell, and I'm not 100%, but it looks like cars like the CLS53 have also have a 12V battery in the trunk. It's a standard battery so a dash cam will use the battery the same as on a typical ICE vehicle. How much a dash cam uses would be dependent on the dash cam. Hope that helps.

It's always up to the consumer to decide price vs quality vs brand. You could always choose to buy an iPhone (that is made in China) or generic YKMSFG or whatever other random letter brand phone also made in China. You will quickly know why it's that cheap. You can also buy something in between... so if you find a decent slim wallet that is cheaper than Ridge and in your price range... That's great... It fits your needs.

Of course. A layered approach is required. I do talk about the tracker in another video but this one is just focusing on the steering wheel lock. Kill switches work well but are also not fool proof. I think most people aren't willing to go the extra step to add the kill switch since they don't have the skills or there aren't any shops that offer the service and have a good warranty in case they mess it up.

We prefer not to use the wax from the car wash because it is more cost effective to bring your own. Plus, there are very good ones you can buy that are really good from synthetic to ceramic to graphene ones. I provided some links in the video description to some of these. When we apply the spray wax we also work on a few panels at a time so that the wax doesn't dry before it gets buffed out. Depending on the wax used, some will streak or leave a mark that is harder to buff out if dried on the panel. If you use the wax from the car wash, you would typically spray down the whole car to avoid the start-up cost if you were to spray a few panels then stop the machine then start it again to spray the other panels. The start-up costs can add up. If you spray the whole car, the wax could dry in some areas before you get to buffing them out. Because there are many car washes run by different people, you may not always know what brand of wax they use and they may not work as good. In the end, it is up to you. Our experience may not be everyone's experience and the car washes we go to may be different than the ones elsewhere. If it makes more sense for you to use the one provided at the car wash, then go ahead. You could also try it once and decide for yourself if it works good enough for the cost.

Oh, this is good news. I am also waiting from the batch 6 and once I noticed their website is not working, I started to fear they went bankrupt. I have never waited this long for anything I purchased.. over 2 years! It is insane. I hope they get their business fixed as the product seems cool.

It's unfortunate that you had that experience. I don't believe most window fans will do that. You probably got a defective one. The one we showed in the video has been in use and in good condition for almost 10 years now and still going strong. We've also tried another brand and neither of them had an issue like yours. I've seen some people use a box fan for a window fan. Seems to work well for some.

Regarding the sun protection tip, just note that it can only do so much. When the vehicle is left out in the sun when parked the cabin will get very hot and the dash cam will be heated by the surrounding air so the sun protection does not help much there. If you have the budget, a dash cam that has a separate recording unit that is separated the front camera may work better since the CPU and memory card can be installed away from the windshield in a much cooler place like the trunk. Make sure not to use the red and yellow colors to determine which one is ACC and which is BATT. The cables should have a label that indicates ACC or BATT. Make sure the BATT wire is connected to the BATT fuse slot and ACC wire to ACC fuse slot.

Not sure why you had those issues but both the dash cam and app worked relatively well. There were a few crashes as I mentioned in the video. Have been using it for over 3 months and it's been pretty good. Could there be an issue with the install, a defect in your unit? And do you have the latest firmware and app version?

No one is trying to compete with you. Anything above 30 degrees Celsius will be difficult to sleep at. Of course, 41 degrees Celsius is worse.

No. This is not for that. These have USB connectors and will not plug into the ethernet port of a router. There are specific devices that push power onto Ethernet cables that you might want to look into. It is called PoE or Power over Ethernet. Specific PoE devices will push power onto Ethernet cables and PoE compatible devices can be powered through them.

I haven't worked on the RC Pagani Zonda for a long time now, unfortunately. It will be a project to get back to in the future.

It should be the same generation C-class so I am guessing it is similar. If you can't see it you might want to use you phone and a light to take a video from the access hole so that you can see what it.looks like inside. Otherwise you might have to feel for it.
