Pretty smart conserve your fuel on the way to the battlefield then drop off the trailer and you have all your fuel ready to go into battle since you didn't use any getting there but doesn't look like it was successful enough

Russians don't use trackpad but when mud pack in their tracks and hardens it's basically the same loss of traction we in the West use track attachments that you would put on the track and replace a couple of the pads to gain grip think there called track grozzer during winter time there were special kinds of tracks they would replace the padded ones with tracks that had better grip

I wouldn't mind seeing a modernized version of this tank in modern-day technology that would be cool to see even on a virtual sketch

M113 also has doors on the ramp you can use easily if you don't need to use the ramp or if it malfunctions they just made a m113 type of APC to there specification and made it better that's common for Sweden making stuff more functional and better for their military just look at what they did with the leopard strv 122 that is a beautiful work of art and the cv90 family love those vehicles and their artillery are some of the best in the world same with Finland they make awesome armored vehicles and artillery also

I am curious about the late fitting of the LIRA flare launchers; weren't those original equipment for the Stridsvaggon/103 in the mid-1960s? If so, why not add them when refitting the 102 turrets with the new cannon, and install them on the 101 on arrival? I have also long wondered if the 57mm is unique to Sweden and flares, as the British long used their 50mm mortar and the U.S. used their 60mm mortar, as a company-level support weapon?

Glad this showed up, thanks CZcams! I haven't seen anything from The Tank Museum lately, must look up that channel. Swedish military equipment has seemed to be far more thoughtfully designed, engineered, and implemented, than U.S., to me, since I was a child. But information on them was scarce, except in rare instances of hands-on availability. I look forward to more episodes!

Hopefully, decision is made to have Ukrainian crews and maintenance teams trained thoroughly in Sweden before actually deploying the vehicles in the combat.

All the Swedish equipment I know of is top of the line and excellent quality, it's cool to see one of these in video, I've only ever read about them. How many is Ukraine getting? A nice peice, it will be in good company with lot of other equipment of it's vintage Even though it's old I have read these are very survivable, with all the doors and hatches the dismounts should be able to get out before a fire cooks off the 20mm ammo, which isn't anywhere near as bad as a mbts main gun ammo going off. The pike nose makes it look so mean. This is also one of the earliest vehicles I know of that had a spall liner, that's bleeding edge for the 60s

Glad to see the Detroit replacement, though dated, a well proven engine... Not thrilled with a turbine unless for electric generation ... which would lend it well to eliminating too many mechanical drives, finishing with modern electric propulsion As well opposed piston diesel tech in the west is VERY promoting I think Sweden should have updated & kept this jewel...

I have as many here served on one of those APC. I really hope that our Ukrainien friends understand that with modern standards this is not a fighting vehicle anymore. Use it as a war taxi, give your soldiers some protection during transport.

Great video Stefan! There is one detail I react to and consider as doubtful... at 13.15 you say they have been stored at 20 years. That might be true for some of them, but as far as I know the PBV 302 totally ended it's service in the army around 2015.
