what thickness tubing did you use?
The square tubing was 1/8” wall, 3/4” square.

I just have one question: why did you not finish welding the bottom edge of the diamond plate on the front of your bed?
I just stitch welded the diamond plate around the edges. I didn’t feel the need to put more than that. Thanks for watching!
Do you have a build list and cost that you could share?
I don’t have one specifically. I took my build list from a company that sells the tail light panels, and you source the rest. They are easy to find online. My total cost of materials was less than $1800. Thanks for watching!

Thanks. Just when I thought I was going to sell my truck with a rusted out bed, this shows up. Mine is a half ton, so I'll have to build lighter. Looks great.

@@nauvooacres I could probably go with thinner wall steel. You may need some air springs when you load that thing up.
That or smaller tubing size. The 3X6 I used on the sides and front were the most difficult to source and I had to go with a thicker wall than I wanted.
How many hours do you have into this build? Looks great btw.
About 80 hours I’m guessing. I didn’t do much planning ahead, so it took longer than I wanted it to. Fun build though. Thanks for watching!

I'm looking to modify a hummvee trailer bed for my 1st gen tacoma. The width seems almost perfect, I'll have to have it shortened so finderwells will line up with the tires. Will have to see how it goes

Nice job on the flat bed. Did one on an old square body Chevy with dual tanks. I always thought it was a dumb idea to have a filler on each side, so I routed the filler on the right side over to the left side. That way the owner could fill both tanks from the same side.

Or u can simply do what Semi trucks do and have a crossover tube between the two tanks.

What size and thickness steel did u use?
Sides are 3x6, inner is 2x3 and headache rack is 2.5 square. Everything was .120 wall. I wanted thinner for the 3x6, but couldn’t find it. Thanks for watching!

Once that treated lumber dries up, you should look into staining it. Personally think a dark brown stain would look great.

@@nauvooacresif the treated ever wears out, look for reclaimed flooring from semi trailers. I have a major trucking company near me that sells it when they scrap trailers.
I used cedar boards stained with black shoe polish.

The boards are pre milled and pressure treated. I plan to treat them once they dry out. I am my own customer. I built this for myself, and have no intentions of building them for anyone else. I’m not sure what you are referring to with wasted metal. Thanks for watching!
