Great video!:thank you!
Hi from Spain, I thought your presentation was excellent. I had no idea which was which, I thought your fingerpicking style was great and made all three sound really good. I was tempted to replay and I think from a practical point of view playing live with vocals, "C" with just a mic. at the fretboard is not possible, but for recording I would always use two mic's. For playing live I thought "A" sounded as close to the natural sound of your fantastic guitar. I wonder if the 3 pickups on the Journey could be increased to 6 smaller ones precisely located, picking up the vibration of each individual string, and would that improve it further? Great and very professional video, John.
Is it the same process if you do like 2 colors or kinda of a sunburst look??
What a clever idea, using the hinge! Such a perfectly simple and elegant design. Nice work, thanks for sharing!
Great vid! Thanks for posting. I've made a couple of cabs in the past but I like to watch several videos to get as many ideas and pointers as I can, and your video did that very well! Going to build another 4x12 soon. Thanks!
How did you secure the bridge? or is it pressed by the strings and removed when you loosen the pegs? I repair guitars, but I want to try to make them myself. There is a video for inspiration. greetings from Russia 🇷🇺
It is basically just held by the string pressure but I added very very tiny dab of glue to keep it from getting bumped especially during string changes.
The scooby doo ending!!!
Sweet. This helped me a lot in converting my old tube amp into guitar use.
3 a.m. this morning, I thought, " a full hollowbody tele, with P90's ". this is close enough.
I liked the more articulate sound of the K&K. The Journey sounded more like an under saddle pickup to my ear.
Can you also make a tutorial when u wanna make lines or shapes on the guitar?
And where did then neck come from ?
It is a pre-finished Fender all parts neck.
Absolutely fabulous! Love it.
Why can’t you just plug it into an amp
Impressive! Beats spending $500+ at Stew mac!
Not saying anything important 😂 You skipped over something I would have found useful Oh well 😊
I guess I could slow it down perhaps
Sounds 'boxy'. 😊
Does the negative on your speaker Jack ground to the cabinet?
Very nice dude. Great job!
Ive got an old Alvarez by Yairi and the installation approach from K and K is the same as JourneyTek)...Didnt like that I could not see what I was doing. Also my bridge was tucked up close to the X brace so just enough room for the 3 pickups. This worked flawlessly and I was able to see exactly where ea pickup was installed! Bravo!
This is working for set top box for external speaker?
There's a tree in my grandmother's yard that probably isn't too long for this world, so I have my heart set on getting some wood for guitars! Thanks for the encouragement!
Hey Merwin, I have a Line 6 Spider V mk2 60 watt guitar amplifier but I am trying to connect it to an external speaker but it doesn't have any kind of speaker output connection at all.... What are some ideas, tips, tricks, and information you could help me out with?
Where are you located? I need help building two bobbin coils for a bass project. Thanks
Nice job although I think you wasted a lot of wood in the begining
When you wet sand it's best practice to use à rubber pad. FYI you won't get finger lines in the sand process.
Neat
You did not come up with this solution. Its been done for like 80 years.
Lets goo
Came for the snare hammer, stayed for the whole build
How about matte paints? Do you need the mirror glaze?
Why not just add a switching jack? When nothing is plugged into it, the signal will go to the internal speaker. When a speaker cable is plugged into it, the signal will be routed to it, and onto the external cabinet. No need for a manual "internal/external" switch.
Great video. If I have two separate vintage tower speakers, how would I make them both Bluetooth so they can play at the the same time?
can you add a inductor to this?
My old Fender Concert has a worn 18ga 3 prong cord. I can only find either a 16ga-3 or a 14ga-3 replacement cord. Does it matter which gauge I use?
yeah why you took those cd's without using aol is pretty weird, but AOL is dead so just throw them away, you're worrying about literally garbage. they're only usful if your stranded on an island and you need it to signal ships for S.O.S. like that tom hanks movie
A for me, seemed more open, fuller, like a full range speaker, hard to put in words.
ill go for real tape bounce
very well explanaion but not tested if it won't sharp when freted
A very cleaver skills young man congratulations
Does the L pad turn all the way down to complete silence?
Great Job nice Look 🤟🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍👍
How did you trim around the driver holes?!!
I have some excellent AR speakers will they perform as good as wired?
thanks this really helped!
Nice guitar, just wish you would have given the same attention to close up camera work attaching the strings to the eyelets, but good job on the guitar. Really, very nice.
Damn, I only liked C. Back to the drawing board. Thanks.
do you still have to sand it if it’s a diy kit that comes without paint?
According to the schematics of a pre-built pick guard I saw on amazon, the 4 screws around the pickups are 3.7" apart. So I was thinking of just securing that part to a 2x4 and just letting the other parts and the pick guard hang off. If I really need to maybe wood glue and extra piece of 2x4 to the side of the 2x4 to make a small section that is 8x2. Or use some extra sheet of hard plastic sheet. Is shorting an electric guitar with your body painful?
Interesting 🤔 work 🎉🎉
