Answering the ‘Unanswered’ Questions of Better Call Saul (part 2)
Hi, today we’re answering some quote unquote unanswered questions for Better Call Saul. These are questions that weren’t directly answered during the series. Mostly because I don’t think they were overly relevant really to the main plot. They were always meant to be things the audience fills in themselves. So, today that’s what we’re doing, we’re filling in the gaps based on what we know. This is the second part, and a bit shorter. I’ve taken questions from the first video, and I’m going to try and answer them here.
Hope you enjoy!

The Best and The Worst Episode of Better Call Saul

Today we’re going to be trying to figure out the best and the worst episode of Better Call Saul. This is obviously going to be a very subjective thing, so be sure to drop your own thoughts and personal picks too, down below, as this is going to largely be based on my own opinion. I’ve gotta say though, this one was really tough. Hope you enjoy! You can watch Better Call Saul on Netflix: www.net...
Jimmy’s Greatest Regret - 6x13 ‘Saul Gone’ Analysis - Better Call Saul
zhlédnutí 15KPřed rokem
Episode 6x13 of Better Call Saul was named ‘Saul Gone’ and was the final episode of the series, and likely the final piece of media from the Breaking Bad universe. We begin the episode right from where we left off in 6x12, with Saul fleeing Marion’s house. He retrieves his diamonds and gets ready to call the disappearer once more. With nowhere to go he jumps into a dumpster. A likely call back ...
Choice and Consequence in Better Call Saul - 6x12 ‘Waterworks’ Analysis

Episode 6x12 of Better Call Saul, was titled ‘Waterworks’. This episode was the resulting consequences of the events of 6x11, ‘Breaking Bad’. For the first time since episode 6x09 we see Kim once more, but now living a similarly dull life to that of Gene, working at an irrigation company named Palm Coast Sprinkler, in a mundane office job, where the most mentally challenging part of her day is ...

Hi, today we’re answering some quote unquote unanswered questions for Better Call Saul. These are questions I don’t anticipate being answered by the end of the series. The Downfall of Gene - 6x11 ‘Breaking Bad’ Analysis - Better Call Saul

This week’s episode of Better Call Saul was titled ‘Breaking Bad’. A call back to the first Breaking Bad episode featuring Saul, being named ‘Better Call Saul’. This felt like a pretty appropriate scene to introduce Walt and Jesse, with it being the genesis of the partnership. I liked how there was a good balance of plot relevant elements to these scenes, whilst also featuring some fun moments,...
How Gus Overcame Every Salamanca - Better Call Saul & Breaking Bad
zhlédnutí 1,2MPřed rokem
Gus took down the Salamancas often indirectly. A far different approach to someone like Nacho say who had to act on a timer, and mostly face them head on, directly hiring hits on the Salamanca members, or directly inflicting them. Gus was forced to play the long and indirect game, with him being the main target to blame if Salamancas suddenly went missing. He required a strategy for each that w...
A New Side of Jimmy - 6x10 ‘Nippy’ Analysis - Better Call Saul

After the deep deep sadness of episode nine, this episode filled me with a lot of joy. A strange shift from the usual paranoia we feel when on board with Gene. For the first time ever, I felt more comfortable watching him over Jimmy. I think it did feel like a very odd tonal shift. We were taken from maybe the show’s darkest moment, and we were thrown into this almost whimsical heist episode, f...
The Inevitability of Better Call Saul - 6x09 ‘Fun and Games’ Analysis
zhlédnutí 70KPřed rokem
Better Call Saul is a show that as a prequel, had a pre-determined outcome. Part of its tragedy was that we already knew the end. So, why do I hate the fact that we’ve finally arrived? I guess I didn’t expect to be this sad. I don’t know about you, but Saul was someone I’ve been wanting to see the whole series. I wanted that classic Breaking Bad Saul and his way with words. Kim was Always on the ‘Bad Choice Road’ - Better Call Saul
zhlédnutí 29KPřed 2 lety
There was a scene at the end of season 6, episode 6, where Kim turns from one road to another. This was for many, considered as her literal turning point onto the ‘bad choice road’ that many like to quote. This is going to be my approach to the whole ‘bad choice road’ discussion. As striking as the visual is, I think it’s clear that this turn is not really Kim’s entrance onto the bad choice roa...
How Nacho Overcame Every Salamanca - Better Call Saul

Throughout Better Call Saul, one of Nacho’s main obstacles was the Salamancas. He had a string of bad luck in that each time he got rid of one, another appeared, allowing him to never truly feel safe. In total he had to overcome five different members of the Salamanca family. I thought it’d be interesting to look at how he approached each. Hope you enjoy! You can watch Breaking Bad on Netflix: ...
The Best and The Worst Episode of Breaking Bad

Hey everyone, today we’re going to discuss the best and worst episodes of Breaking Bad. This is going to be a tough one, as Breaking Bad is a show I truly believe to have no conventionally bad episodes. When we talk about the worst, we’re talking about the worst, so not necessarily bad, just the weakest of the series. The one rule I have for picking which episode is the best, and the worst, is ...

I was convinced that after being betrayed, Lalo would realize Nacho held the key to confirming who did it, and S6 would feature Lalo chasing Nacho across the country for brutal revenge, with Nacho using every trick he learned to stay alive. And when he got caught, it'd be BRUTAL. I love what we got, but it would've turned all this history into fuel for a hell of a showdown.

  • @Zephirite.

Nacho proved to the twins that he was worthy of respect, but he also covered for Gus, since the twins thought this gang had shot Nacho. Him being content to let them risk their lives for a revenge he should want to exact would've raised flags (nevermind that revenge is rarely the smartest course; they're Salamancas, and they live by "sangre por sangre").

Summary of how Gus defeated each Salamanca: Tuco: Left him to his devices. Tuco was impulsive and mentally unstable, and likely would have eventually taken himself out if he was left to his own devices. It also wouldn't arouse any suspicon on Gus since Tuco already had a reputation for violence and mental unstability and Hector and the other Salamancas already knew this. Thus if Tuco was taken out they would have likely concluded that he had simply done it to himself rather than Gus doing it and wouldn't even blink an eye. If Tuco had lived longer than he needed to or worse showed signs of improving then Gus would arrange someone to care of him and frame it as just him taking himself out again. The Twins (Leonel and Marco): Gus abused their "blood for blood" motto against them and got them in dangerous situations where they would inevitably either be killed by rival cartel members or be arrested by the police and given life sentences. This would not arouse any suspicion on Gus since it would seem like they had just died or been eliminated through regular "everyday activites." If all else failed Gus would just arrange for them to be assassinated and cover it up, framing it on a rival cartel. Joaquim: Didn't even really know that he existed or that he was a Salamanca. Thought he was just another one of Don Eladio's crew and treated him as such. He would be killed in Gus's poisoning plot against Don Eladio after Jesse and Mike strangled the remaining members of Eladio's crew (including Joaquim). Lalo: Most difficult challenge for Gus. Just as intelligent as Gus is and hid his identity before arriving. Gus had limited imformation about him at first and was not even sure if he was a Salamanca member. Had to make sure through imformation-gathering and once confirmed he began to formulate an elaborate plan to take him down. He hired a team of German engineers to build an underground base beneath his house which he planned to lure Lalo into and shoot and kill him there where Gus would have the advantage by cutting out the lights while Gus had night-vision goggles and Lalo had nothing. Gus would then shoot and kill Lalo there and bury him somewhere quitely. He would cover up the murder and frame it as a heart attack or a rival cartel hit. And finally, last but not least: Hector: The reason why Gus is doing all of this in the first place. The man himself. Gus had a special plan for Hector that involved maximising his physical and mental suffering before he died. This would mean purposefully prolonging his life when he was in physical or mental pain just so he could suffer more consciously. Luckily for Gus, Nacho had already done Gus's work for him without Gus even realizing through the pill swap plan. It succeded and Hector collapsed and became disabled, Gus exploiting this by purposefully visiting his hospital bed and tormenting him day and night, and using other methods to make his pain worse. A disabled Hector could not speak or move and could not report this abuse to the authorities. Finally once Hector was released in a wheelchair, Gus prepared to kill him with a lethal needle injection but was killed after Walter's pipebomb plan worked. Hector finally dies but so does Gus. A phyrric victory.
