Location and replacement of turn signal relay
Mine is not there. It’s a lariat I don’t know why that would make a difference. The hazard light flasher is there, but no wires going into where the turn signal flasher should be
The hazards and turn signal use the same flasher relay. That? Is what creates the delay or the resistance to cause the lights too flash.
@@oaktree185 yep already figured that out by watching a different video. Thanks! Wish I had set up to make video I could show everyone how to takeoff the lower panel to get straight to it because I do not have small arms or hands
Thanks! I changed my relay to one for leds in seconds
Thank you
2003 f250 Worked great! thanks!
Thanks
Perfect explanation took me 5. Minutes. Thank you
Five minute blind install I am so happy and it worked. Thank you!
did you have a solenoid on the bottom side that you replaced? just wondering because on my recent purchase of a LB650a there is a solenoid and i need to know how it gets wired up. a picture of the underside installed would be extremely helpful!
Good video but even with a lot of trying and contorting my ol’ body I just could not get to the flasher the way you described but you are exactly correct In your procedure to remove, I just couldn’t do it. I ended up removing 7 small bolts holding the ashtray holder and lower dashboard panel and was able to access that way because it afforded me at least a partial view of what you described in your video. I applaud you for your dexterity , mine however isn’t what it use to be Lol!
Thanks for this video. It took me less than a minute to switch mine out. It's the same for 2004 F750.
Wow I got quoted $400 and thought that was alot...the extraction tool is $80
I would imagine from the time I originally posted this video that there are other ways that have come about that might be easier and aftermarket solutions to solve some of the issues which would bring the pricing down.
Thank you, finding
Awesome thank you so much
Thanks a bunch. Will check this. Was about to tear into the fuel system or the brain box. Hopefully this does the trick.
What flasher did you replace it with to stop hyper flash from led bulbs?
An electronic turn signal relay for LEDs. It has the same prongs as the standard one except it doesn't rely on resistance to make the clicking or blinking. I got mine at NAPA.
So.... Any recommendations if that doesn't fix my problem? Front driver blinker doesn't blink. Rear passenger doesnt blink
Thank you, very helpful.
Don't need a new one. Just refill it with new blinker fluid
I can't get that cover off for nothing 🤣
Thank you. Glad I found this. Just bought the truck and previous owner put in LED bulbs and I'm plagued with the hyper flash, myself.
Your video just saved me a whole lot of trouble shooting!!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Where did u order parts and a manual for that repair
Altec service 24 hr part's. I called later in the day on this particular repair is about 7:00 in the evening so I ended up getting somebody from Australia on their parts order service. He ended up sending me five emails that had the service manual sections in it to look through and then I use that to tell him what part numbers I needed I ordered all the seals that were in the turret valve. I do remember him telling me the cost of the manual was like 300 bucks he told me he'd send it to me as long as I didn't know where I got it ;-). As far as knowing how to rebuild the valve the only experience I had going off of was doing an excavator rotary valve not but a couple months earlier for a friend on his excavator. I just took lots of pictures of where lines were color coded the lines with colored zip ties when I took the valve apart a lot more pictures that way I had something to look back on when I was assembling to make sure I was in the right order. Make sure everything's got plenty of oil on the reassembly of the valve as you slide things back together so you don't pinch any seals take your time be thorough.sitting here thinking about it I also think I used a ring compressor which you can get at any auto parts store after I would put the earrings on I would put the ring compressor on to make things shrink tighter before I was working the valve back together. I hope that helps.
Thank you for such good video My truck was seating at my shop over 4 years refusing to give up had few mechanics work on no luck I come across your video BOOM stared first try thank you . Note : This videos should be nominated for an award is no JUNK.
I'm glad it helped.😁
good video, thanks for sharing
No snow/salt problem in Houston !!! But fuses down there rang a bell !! Mobile Mechanic had fixed this before !! TWICE !! A truss Carpenter watched Hm the second time ! Said he watched over his back n he changed a fuse !!! $260 !😡😡 - I confronted him n he said his time ??? You are right ! Very dependable truck !! BAD diesel mileage w/v-8 😩 BuT we have changed the fuse 2 more times !! I checked your /OUR rubbing issue !! Found 2-rubbed pretty bad ! Have alleviated that !! Great video !! TANKS !
Cool. I had replaced mine a year ago for LEDs but it started clicking all the time. Originally I went thru the trash bag holder (some have ashtray). Just wanted to verify flasher but not wanting to go thru dash again stumbled upon this vid. AWESOME, mine there's an air duct on our 01 F250 but reaching past that then up and easily reached flasher. Mine has a smaller relay in front of this flasher which helped locate socket. Tight space but 5 minuets in/out. THANKS
Thanks for the video, very helpful
👍
Please keep doing videos of bucket trucks there nothing out there i am a bucket truck owner and we need tutorials for repairs and service .
Thank you for making this video. I also looked at the other vids. Six minutes MAX after watching this. I installed a louder flasher DAECO MODEL 607
I have the same problem crank but won’t start Already replace sensors, hpop, and nothing
Have your injector drive module tested. I've had that fail one time in the 14 years I've had the truck. The truck will crank but they'll be no start because there's no command to the injectors.
Don't take it to the dealer they'll rip you off on it I found out the hard way the tech that I normally took things to he was on vacation the week that it broke and I didn't have a way to check and find out the diagnostics the dealership got me I did get it fixed but it was expensive and then found out from the tech I normally go to that he would have been able to tell with his equipment but it all worked out
How did you replace the wires in the back
I replaced the bad section of wire by cutting out the affected area and using a 3M at the manufacturer heat shrink connectors there's now multiple manufacturers but at the time 3M was the best on the market. The beauty about the heat shrink is it helps keep water and contaminants out.
Thank you that was super helpful
Thank you very helpful . Your the man.Done in 5 minutes
That's a beautiful truck
Thanks for this, we have the LB650a as well ours started leaking and we still haven't determined where. We just started looking.
Seal kit part #
I ordered through all text parts division you can order almost around the clock if you call in the evening you'll get somebody from Australia or at least I have the last couple times they're pretty good to deal with I even had one gentleman send me the entire manual through email took five email messages later I found out that was a $300 manual if you were to buy it from him that made it nice to look through and find out exactly what I needed if you contact the shop side of altec they have a whole different ethics they don't want to help you unless you're bringing it to him and even then they're super expensive
Can you help me with the part number? Thanks in advance.
Does this affect the brakes as well?
There sure is
Thank you for a short to the point and helpful video
Thanks on my way to the Salvage yard , now..... I will let you know how I do, thanks for taking the time to upload this video.
where did you get your seals? Did you have to go through Altec
I went through Altec. There pretty good to order parts through. Their service side is ridiculously expensive and they don't help much.
I ordered through altec they do have a 24-hour parts division so if you call in the evening you'll talk to somebody in Australia which really I have found them to be a little more helpful than during the day one gentleman sent me an entire manual through email that later I found out is a $300 purchase I was pretty tickled about that but the part side is good to deal with the service side like in Columbus or if you go somewhere local I don't know they operate on a whole different conscience level and they don't like to help
whare do i leave my tip and many thanks ford for not sharing this in the manual
Thanks for pointing these out. Question, do you get the "wait to start" light when you try to crank or No? I've seen other vids talking about "Fuse 22" for the Heater bowl Element- haven't been able to trace that kne down.(i'm the 6th or 7th owner of this truck- first time its let me down jn 3 years)
Yes I still get to wait to start light even with the no crank.
I just replaced all 8 spark plug on my 08. I used a Milwaukee right angle impact tool 250 ft lb. don’t be scare 3 of them super hard to come out but this tool did the work.
Wholly crap I went though the manual on the fuse panel and power distribution under the hood . I was losing my freakin mind where is it and why is it not labeled or in a box with the rest of the fuses? Thanks I to have rapid flash and led taillights
Perfect, the easiest way to do this. Some trucks have a heater outlet pipe in the way, but from what I saw you can remove that easily by pulling the knee panel and taking out the screw that holds that plastic pipe and pulling it out of the way. All that said, no such pipe on my 2002 F250 and everything went smoooooooth like butta!!!
Do you have to change it out to run leds
Thanks, save a lot of time, replaced & worked like a charm !!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
