    Mine is not there. It’s a lariat I don’t know why that would make a difference. The hazard light flasher is there, but no wires going into where the turn signal flasher should be

    • @oaktree185
      @oaktree185 Před 23 dny

      The hazards and turn signal use the same flasher relay. That? Is what creates the delay or the resistance to cause the lights too flash.

    did you have a solenoid on the bottom side that you replaced? just wondering because on my recent purchase of a LB650a there is a solenoid and i need to know how it gets wired up. a picture of the underside installed would be extremely helpful!

    Good video but even with a lot of trying and contorting my ol’ body I just could not get to the flasher the way you described but you are exactly correct In your procedure to remove, I just couldn’t do it. I ended up removing 7 small bolts holding the ashtray holder and lower dashboard panel and was able to access that way because it afforded me at least a partial view of what you described in your video. I applaud you for your dexterity , mine however isn’t what it use to be Lol!

    What flasher did you replace it with to stop hyper flash from led bulbs?

    • @oaktree185
      @oaktree185 Před rokem

      An electronic turn signal relay for LEDs. It has the same prongs as the standard one except it doesn't rely on resistance to make the clicking or blinking. I got mine at NAPA.

    Where did u order parts and a manual for that repair

    • @oaktree185
      @oaktree185 Před rokem

      Altec service 24 hr part's. I called later in the day on this particular repair is about 7:00 in the evening so I ended up getting somebody from Australia on their parts order service. He ended up sending me five emails that had the service manual sections in it to look through and then I use that to tell him what part numbers I needed I ordered all the seals that were in the turret valve. I do remember him telling me the cost of the manual was like 300 bucks he told me he'd send it to me as long as I didn't know where I got it ;-). As far as knowing how to rebuild the valve the only experience I had going off of was doing an excavator rotary valve not but a couple months earlier for a friend on his excavator. I just took lots of pictures of where lines were color coded the lines with colored zip ties when I took the valve apart a lot more pictures that way I had something to look back on when I was assembling to make sure I was in the right order. Make sure everything's got plenty of oil on the reassembly of the valve as you slide things back together so you don't pinch any seals take your time be thorough.sitting here thinking about it I also think I used a ring compressor which you can get at any auto parts store after I would put the earrings on I would put the ring compressor on to make things shrink tighter before I was working the valve back together. I hope that helps.

    Cool. I had replaced mine a year ago for LEDs but it started clicking all the time. Originally I went thru the trash bag holder (some have ashtray). Just wanted to verify flasher but not wanting to go thru dash again stumbled upon this vid. AWESOME, mine there's an air duct on our 01 F250 but reaching past that then up and easily reached flasher. Mine has a smaller relay in front of this flasher which helped locate socket. Tight space but 5 minuets in/out. THANKS

    How did you replace the wires in the back

    • @oaktree185
      @oaktree185 Před 2 lety

      I replaced the bad section of wire by cutting out the affected area and using a 3M at the manufacturer heat shrink connectors there's now multiple manufacturers but at the time 3M was the best on the market. The beauty about the heat shrink is it helps keep water and contaminants out.

      I ordered through altec they do have a 24-hour parts division so if you call in the evening you'll talk to somebody in Australia which really I have found them to be a little more helpful than during the day one gentleman sent me an entire manual through email that later I found out is a $300 purchase I was pretty tickled about that but the part side is good to deal with the service side like in Columbus or if you go somewhere local I don't know they operate on a whole different conscience level and they don't like to help

  • @dougmasters3875

    Perfect, the easiest way to do this. Some trucks have a heater outlet pipe in the way, but from what I saw you can remove that easily by pulling the knee panel and taking out the screw that holds that plastic pipe and pulling it out of the way. All that said, no such pipe on my 2002 F250 and everything went smoooooooth like butta!!!
