Living in Australia and lucky to be so close to the sea. I spend much time at the sea it is nice to know how to say it , in Irish☘️:)
Now, I am learning expressions in English from you, as well as Irish. ("On your bike"? I've never heard it!) But, good to know in Irish, too.
😊
🎵 I want to ride mo rothar 🎵

Go raibh math agat!
Tá fáilte romhat!

Love this. Love hearing my name pronounced in the Irish.
An puc ar buile 😂
The interesting thing is that for non-English speakers, it's way easier to make sense of the Irish spelling. I'm looking forward to having time to retake my Gaeilge (right now I am stuck with differential equations)

The German word „Ehre“ is pronounced or sounds like Éire which translates in English to Honor🥰
Sharing this with my Irish American friends. Thank you
You are most welcome!
Siobhan, how do you say the Jesus Prayer in Irish (Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner)?
Wait . . . Siobhan is pronounced "Shoo-awn"?! For fifteen freaking years I've been pronouncing it "She-Van"! Is it a dialect thing, or am I just an idiot?
Yes, pronunciation varies. The Munster pronunciation is 'sheh-vaawn' so you were nor far off 😉
Hker living in ireland for many yrs, my son s born here so he knows irish that i wanna learn too ("i know chn, eng, n spanish

What about Oisin ha?! That's what I came here for 😂 d'oh maybe nx time!
Here you go, pronunciation of Oisín in each of the three main dialects 😉 (this noun also means fawn, i.e. baby deer, but the pronunciation is the same)www.teanglann.ie/en/fuaim/ois%C3%ADn
Eoin, thanks so much for this! I have just returned from a stay on the Dingle Peninsula. I did find the locals were very receptive to my cupla focal. I appreciate your encouragement to "start where you are." I know I made mistakes, but it just didn't matter. I was understood, and people seemed happy and surprised to hear Irish from a tourist. It was wonderful. Your comment that it is a connection to Irish ancestors resonated with me, as well. I will be going to Ballyferriter for an immersion course, and I see that Slea Head Farm is only a ten minute local bus ride from there. I'm so grateful I found Bitesize Irish! Go raibh míle maith agat! I thoroughly enjoyed this.
And we at Bitesize Irish are delighted that you found us, Debbie!
Thank You Yah
Thank you kindly for posting this, blessings to you ✨🍀✨
You are so welcome
Thanks for putting the translation and pronunciation in the description. It made it nice and easy to print off and walk around while studying.
Glad it was helpful!
True words!
Perfect pacing in this.
Some people would try the Patience of a Saint. How do you say it for a woman ? Bean ? Bhean ?

Which region is ciemr der haschif (I'm quite sure i spelled it wrong; i just wanted to get as close as possible to what i heard it)?
This doesn't ring any bells (or sound like Irish). Could you give us some context?
@@BitesizeIrish I watched an old video that was teaching Irish gaelic and that phrase stood out to me the most (ciamar was the first word). I've been trying to find it again. I wish I could send you a sound bite so you could hear it the way I did
I think I know what you are thinking of - it is 'how are you?' in Ulster Irish. The 'you' is plural form, i.e. addressing more than one person. You'll find it 3mins 01 seconds into this episode of 'Now You're Talking' czcams.com/video/7nz--LpYC30/video.html
@@BitesizeIrish thank you. I'll look at it now
We may air dark weshke!
I love the clear pronunciation followed by the simple explanation on this short 😊 Then in captions: how to write it, the phonetic pronunciation and the translation into English (*chef's kiss*) for all the ways of getting my brain to remember this 😁 Go raibh maith agat!

Where was "beinn"?
I presume you that you are referring to the word 'binn' (peak)? For reasons of time it isn't possible to list every word related to the topic in these Bitesize lessons, but you can listen to the pronunciation of the word 'binn' in each of the three major dialects here: www.teanglann.ie/en/fuaim/binn
