    Peter is not even attempting to help Harry at all He never even speaks to Harry again up until he become Goblin *This Spidey is far too cool to be Peter Parker* *Andrew 's Spider-man is good with women , never gets bullied by Flash and doesn't do science to solve his problems* *the real failing of this film is that Peter is not using SCIENCE to help a friend , which is how most Spider-Man conflicts are solved* *Tobey 's Spider-man is far too melodramatic turning into a quivering sobbing mess in every other scene and his quips aren't as funny as Andrews* *This is why I think Tom's Peter is best of both worlds -- A nerdy genius who is terrible with women and funny when he needs to be and actually does Science* -Th3Birdman EWW CinemaSins TASM2 Personally I liked Tom 's Spidey more than others I just don't know why, maybe its acting like RR's Deadpool and RDJ's Iron Man He just resonates so great nearly at the level of Miles Morales I am not gonna mention Tobey 's Spidey 's lack of iconic webshooters just watch any animated series even 90s one had it

    The fans of "Man of Steel" would never understand Superman, as well as what Snyder got so wrong about Superman. He is a compassionate and empathetic character in the first place, in any of his fight with another super being he would try to take the fight as far as possible from any city or populated landscape, so that it doesn't harm people or property. But nah, Snyder is ok with showing Superman casually destroying things around.

    Thank you!!! Clark Kent is a fallible but truly good person. As in he is the only person since Adam that is good. He never sins but he could! And that (not kryptonite) is his greatest weakness. He can also be tricked, he isn’t all knowing. He can’t read minds. He’s just stronger and faster than everyone else. I really hate the cosmic threats he faces in most comics or movies. He should be the only super powered being in the world. And he should be reduced to understandable limits. Maybe not capable of flying through space just the man of tomorrow. The redeemed or unfallen man who is the good man of Plato’s cave, but unlike the good man who is whipped and mocked, Superman is indescribable. That’s it. Just this. He is vulnerable to being tempted or tricked, but he can never succumb. Unfortunately writing for a character with these limitations is too hard. We prefer to deconstruct our hero’s and tear them down to be relatable. God forbid we have aspirational heroes.

  • @obviousgreyman
    @obviousgreyman Před 20 dny

    Couldn’t agree more. This is also what makes Superman a good character, he becomes boring and predictable when he’s written as not only an unstoppable “god” but also a cold alien. One of the worst things they ever did was erase Superman’s tagline “Truth, Justice, and The American Way”, and I say that not to be political but it’s undeniable thats who Superman is he’s a kid raised by farmers in middle America and he stands for those old fashioned virtues that really can only be represented by a “Superman”. Misunderstood is a perfect word for it I hope people start to wake up to this because it can only get worse if people keep ignoring the character that Superman is beyond him being OP.

    Spiderman in the MCU could never be seen having struggle, because then it would acknowledge inherent nuances about class. Especially when comparing with Tony Stark. So to "solve" the problem, they had Spiderman have constant supply from the avengers so that the main cast of heroes won't be called into question about privilege.

  • @zacharyiler136
    @zacharyiler136 Před 22 dny

    DC gave Superman to a person that hates hero’s and thinks everyone is selfish and evil…. Shocker he did a poor job. Sadly Gunn won’t do any better because he still can’t understand that Superman is just a disguise for the real man. Superman is a story of a god that lives as a human and appreciates humanity. Lois is supposed to be the example that even a god has trouble dealing with the woman he loves. Dean Cain said it best, Superman is what I do, Clark is who I am.

    Superman has similar issues to Star Trek. The whole pitch to both is showcasing humanity at its best, but when put into wider media like a movie, its writers don't know how to put that messaging into the market or format.

    You know, the thing you said about focusing on the “super” and not the “man”.. “Man of Steel” actually does it really well. I’m not a fan of the Jonathan Kent death scene, but it’s a small shrug compared to a really well told story.

Honestly this was much needed, Superman has always been my favorite superhero, unfortunately/fortunately I couldn’t get into the newer adaptations, but he’s the Beacon of Hope. It’s nice to see good and helpfulness in the world but without having to assert dominance but by actions of kindness and heroism. I hope they bring back the Superman of yesterday. Let’s go Blue!!!

    It doesn't matter. Superman wasn't a messiah figure in the Snyder movies because HE wanted it. He very VERY clearly did NOT want it. He went out of his way to avoid it. But...when you're about as close to being a literal god as is physically possible (well beyond that, actually, since NONE of Superman's powers are possible at all), then every single action you take will be viewed as that taken by a god. Whether you want it or not...the people will come to either worship, or demonize you. There's no middle ground, and it's ABSOLUTELY unavoidable. Superman gets away with it because he can just go back to being Clark. But the Superman identity will always be viewed as either messianic, or demonic...depending on who's doing the viewing. Clark/Supes doesn't even get a say in the matter, ever. He cannot ever stop anyone from having such a viewpoint, and the more he would try to do so...the deeper into that viewpoint those people would go, and the more people would begin to adopt either of those viewpoints. People SEEK a messiah. And the more one tries to stop them...the harder they look and the more vehement they get. Superman himself is irrelevant in it.

    I don't think the writers for the movies get a lot of characers. Green Lantern can't be 'a man without fear' because the writers can't handle that. The Fantastic Four can't be shown as a family first, a superhero team second.

    People don't get the Christ imagery wrong with Superman, they just make an improper connection. Superman isn't a Christ figure, he's a CHRISTIAN - someone who lives his life by the example of Jesus Christ, to the best of his ability. THAT'S what people get wrong.

    I gotta say that I liked the Man of Steel version of Clark Kent/Superman. I didn't find him gloomy and brooding. Clark seemed very confused. He had all these powers showing up in his youth. Then Pa Kent tells him that he is really an alien from another planet. That he has to keep it a secret because, he doesn't know what society and government would do to him. Clark was raised by good people and has powers that can help. But his father wants him to not interfere and possibly expose himself. Clark watches his father die in a tornado, that he could have rescued, but Pa Kent told him now. Yeah, this Clark Kent is going to have some issues. Notice when he discovers his biological father Jor-El and he explains to Kal-El/Clark/Superman his Kryptonian heritage. Clark seems to lighten up. Then he has Lois Lane who discovers who he is but will keep his identity a secret. Then Clark Kent meets other people from Krypton, who were alive when his biological parents existed. Finally people like him, but only to find out that they have bad intentions for his home of Earth. This has to take Clark on an emotional roller coaster. Clark now has decide to rid the Earth of his Kryptonian brethren to keep humans safe. Clark Kent a farm boy, ends up having to kill General Zod to keep a family from being murdered by his heat vision. Clark at heart isn't a soldier or anything like that. The guilt pains him. Now the aftermath of the fight between General Zod, the Kryptonian army, and Superman devastated Smallville and Metropolis. Not everyone sees Superman as a hero for saving them from the Kryptonians. There are going to be many people with many different opinions of Superman. From adoration, fear, hatred, love, respect and everything in between. Even Batman thought Superman was an alien possibly trying to take over the Earth. Yea, some things needed to be fixed in the DC films.
