What exactly causes varicose veins to itch? Varicose veins are damaged veins with malfunctioning valves that stretch, causing the blood to pool in the vein. The excess blood in the vein causes high pressure and as a result, some of the blood moves out of the vein into the surrounding tissue, as it seeks to find an area of lower pressure. The components of the blood, such as hemoglobin, and wast...

Stasis Dermatitis is caused through venous insufficiency. This condition can now be cured or at least HUGELY improved. I’m from England and have been through all of this through a DVT only in my 30s caused through the contraceptive pill. I referred myself to a specialist vein clinic in London for a duplex vein mapping scan and then underwent EVLT together with Transluminal Occlusion of Perforators (had four incompetent perforator veins) followed eight weeks later with ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy. I had to pay £6,000 for these procedures but it was the best money ever spent and I haven’t looked back since 2018.

After my L4-5 and S1 anterior lumbar fusion in 2012, I developed severe DVT in my left leg. I'm now the glorious owner of 3 illiac stents. I was given ZERO info on my treatment. I was told I didn't need to know and be thankful it worked. The hospital refuses to relinquish all my med records from that particular stay. No attorney would touch my case, yet all said I had one. I didn't learn until earlier this year that the "abnormality" my vascular surgeon said I had back then, was in fact May-Thurner Syndrome. I am now dealing with trying to get SMAS confirmed, as the radiologists missed it on CT, and my now former GI refuses to lay eyes on my CT scan. I also would like to add that I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
