I feel like this Orpheus is a bit out of his range, every "who am I" sounds very straining

I think this is the same Hades and Hermes I saw in Providence, but I don't think the others are the same (maybe Persephone but didn't hear her voice to be sure)? I really loved our Orpheus, wish I knew who it was -- but this one is great too, interesting to hear his different interpretations of certain moments in the songs.

Holy crap between this Orpheus and Chibueze (who I saw back in 2022) the touring cast has been stacked

Oof...not a fan of the Hermes interpretation and Orpheus didn't sound great this day. I'm okay that I skipped this trip to Toronto.

The comments are all negative about this cast. I saw this cast in Toronto in August. I loved everyone’s performance so much that I had chills. I’ve been searching ever since to see if someone recorded anything so I could hear it again. Watching them Hadestown became my favourite musical of all time. Going back to see it in May, maybe with a mostly new cast I’ll see what others were saying. The recordings don’t sound the same as they did live.

The part at 4:13 is my favorite rendition I've heard. His voice is so powerful and piercing it's like he's trying to pierce into Hades' emotions.

It is a crime that we can't get touring cast albums. I saw basically this cast but with Chibueze Ihuoma as Orpheus, and it was absolute magic. Best show I've ever seen, and Hannah is one of my favorite Broadway performers now. Her voice is unbelievable. P.S. if you have her singing Wedding Song, I might die.

Do you have more of Matt Quinn? Loooved him as Hades. He is also SO tall, adds to the imposing presence

This national touring ensemble was phenomenal! I saw them at the Orpheum in San Francisco during a Sunday matinee, then at the Civic Performing Arts Center in Sacramento a week later. They did a fantastic job on both days! Matthew Patrick Quinn definitely makes for a gnarly-good Hades, as does J. Antonio's Orpheus. Such a stunning musical theatrical experience. :D

Toronto was so lucky with the cast we had.

Saw this for the first time recently in Los Angeles love it. I've been fascinated with Greek mythology since like 6th grade I was always captivated by it and I knew their story but I would forget their names. I went in blind for the musical and you will it was about Greek mythology but I didn't know what when they said that she has to follow him behind and he cannot look back I knew which story and I knew the ending and I was hoping for a different ending like every time I would reread it he always hoped for a different ending it's bittersweet and they kept true to the original I still love it I want to see it again

J Antonio is incredible!

her voice is so gorgeous

I just saw her on 9/26 and she sang in extreme italics for like half of the first act. If I didn't know the OBC already I probably wouldn't of had a clue of what she was singing. Luckily the rest of the show she was dictating better. Regardless she had a beautiful voice.

I love how this Orpheus does more mixed belts that sound more like he’s in despair. It really works well, even if I definitely prefer Reeve’s falsetto

The cast is fine but wow does this moment not work without the lift (I know it’s a tour and they can’t instill a trap door in every city but still)

one thing that the live cast album does not replicate is the absolutely BLARING trombone that imo makes the song, so fucking love this

Why does Nathan Lee Graham sing like that 😭 it just takes all the emotional resonance out of the character
