This is so helpful. My psychiatrist just told me to seek a 3rd opinion and maybe a whole new provider. Now on top of all of my stressors, I have to search for someone new. He knows my stressors and the medications, and he decides this is a good idea N😮Unbelievable.

What the difference between Gad and Benzo withdrawals? Because unfortunately I was given Benzo and was taking them off and on . Went hospital because I felt sick. They said that I'm just dealing with Gad. I feel like Benzo had something to do with the way I am now.

I consider my neck pain as a somatic panic symptom or panic response. If I evoke pain, then I stop moving the speech muscles causing a speech block during speech production. I evoke neck pain because I label myself as a person who stutters. Any tips to reduce the panic response as neck pain?

if you have panic attacks/anxiety: 1. physical check of items who have the same simptoms: 1. blood test for vit D, thyroid, iron, magnesium, cortisol, sex hormones (for women should be taken on 3-5th day of a cycle and interpreted by a gynecologist), if clean: cardiologist 2. psychologist trained in EMDR 3. Audiobook "Complex PTSD from surviving to thriving " 4. group therapy to address the root cause (childhood traumas and learned beliefs) called "Hoffman process" (if one can afford, i wish i did it earlier) lifestyle: 1. sport 2. healthy eating (exclude sugar, stop coffee completely) 3. sleep hygiene 4. strengthen social connections 5. monitor financial health and do budgeting or whatever you can influence 6. take ownership for your life

By the way, hard exercise works really well. It is remarkably effective and explains my sporty childhood - now I know why - I was struggling. It is really sad as my parents were the issue but couldn’t see it.

My GAD comes and goes, it gave me a wonderful life as I had a great education and worked in several countries. It comes and goes, especially when I have difficulties but it can disappear and life is great. Now it is back for a while, it will go though. It was in my early childhood as my parents were quite anxious. Very sad, my step-sisters had it too.

To whoever came to this video, you're on the right track. I have very severe GAD, and only recently started dealing with it. The biggest step that helped me calm my GAD is understanding what it is, why it happens, how the body responds to it and realizing that it does not pose any physical or psychological danger to you. You are not going to die, you are not going to end up in hospital, you are not losing your mind. Remember that. As much as it is extremely uncomfortable, it cannot hurt you. And the more you learn about it, and what triggers your anxiety, the less afraid you become, and the less afraid you become, the less anxious you are. You can do it. It is tough in the beginning, but by using CBT methods, tackling your catastrophic thoughts and realizing that all those fears you have only exist in your head and they are not truths, using exposure therapy and meditation and exercise you will learn to control it in a healthy way. As long as you want to get better and you are willing to put in the work even though you may not see results immediately, You can beat this. Most importantly, remember your anxiety is not evil, it's not harmful, in fact it is the opposite. Your emotional brain tries it's best to protect you, not to harm you. Unfortunately it is sometimes hyperactive, causing it to 'protect' you against non-existent dangers (fears that only exist as thoughts in your head), that is all anxiety is. So don't be hard on yourself. It takes time, but it is completely possible.

I read his book and try to let the symptoms overflown but it’s been hard not trying to escape . I had strong ones where I felt shaky , warm and dizzy . Now it’s mostly shakiness and feeling your chest tense . I went to the doctor and tried a therapist with 3 sessions and it helped but now it’s starting again , I feel bad a new job because of lack of atmosphere and nobody really talks , all afraid of some manager . He said in his book a good therapist can rid of that forever in a few sessions but I wonder does he know such therapists? I tried his website and it’s not possible to contact him . It sucks my therapist told me to call him anytime I feel bad but he doenst ring me back all the time and earlier I felt bad and tried to ring him twice . I had to ring a friend instead who is experiencing the same and he knows what to say , how to make you feel better like a therapist . It’s been hard I wanted to call sick earlier but instead stayed at my desk doing nothing but ate an hard candy . I wonder if anyone knows a good therapist . I take buses a lot and taxis and have to have friends picking me up at my place . I was able to meet them in town by taking the bus but it happened again . At the very beginning 2 months ago i couldn’t walk too far from my house alone and I feel back to that a bit . I wonder if there are people in dublin interesting to build a support group ? There is none I think

Sometimes the hardest part is to first accept that what’s happening is actually just a panic attack. Then at that point you have to face the fear head on for what it is. Distracting yourself or running from the fear won’t work, but being strong and feeling the discomfort is shockingly effective

I remember, I was five days in to my first panic attack. Nothing helped, nothing made it seem less like the world was ending. After five days, I was finally able to shuffle my way upstairs to my office and turn on my computer. I CZcams how to stop panic attacks what it was and everything about it, and then, right when I was about to shut it off, I found this video and a third of the way into this video I started bawling. The supreme accuracy and detail of my symptoms being explained in a thoughtful way, reminding me that I’m not going crazy that it’s not gonna last forever that it is the most common thing in the world, saved me. it was only after finally watching this video that after five days my panic attacks went away. It’s been three years and I am just coming down off of a panic attack. This is the first video I go to when it’s happening and it helps me every single time. we are not crazy, and this isn’t going to last. I trigger the attack because I’m afraid of triggering the attack. Thank you for this video and all you’ve done for me in my life.
