A collection of vehicles relevant to my personal interests; some are kept for my personal collection, some are sold, but all are bought solely because I want to. I wish it were a living; but it's a hobby and a passion.
1980 Cadillac Sedan de Ville - Should I even bother?
The 1980 Cadillac Sedan de Ville is not a desirable car; project cars, even less so. A nonrunning project? There's, maybe, me that is interested in it and you who's here watching me mess with it.

Thats a demolition derby special! Get it running and off to smash other cars with it. Then off to the scrap yard for an easy couple hundred bucks!
Probably the best use for a car like this; no value when restored, only worth a few thousand if immaculate, and no shortage of them since they made this style for nearly 20 years.
Hey man I have a 79 coupe deville it has 43000 miles on jt all original and it’s been sitting for 15+ years I replaced everything starter battery alternator fluids and I’m about to buy the carberator is their any advice. U can give me to make sure that that car stays with me for generations I’m 18 and I really love that car
They're very simple cars; regular maintenance and use will keep them around for years. That one sat for nearly 20 in utter neglect and came around. You should have no problem. Replace all the rubber as well; belts, hoses, etc. and you'll have a reliable car.
They were just Land Yachts!! But their engines were used in many transplants!!
Car does sound good❤ Ice cream sounds good also ❤
W😮W, ISN'T THAT ONE MEAN MOTOR SCOOTER 😍. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL 👍 I'D ROB 3 BANKS FOR THAT BABY 💰💰💰. . . j/k 🤭.
Rare too, only 1878 made in 1966 with a price of $5733.00
Fewer still made with the rear AC.
Wasn’t this shown in opening scenes of the 1960’s TV series, Man From UNCLE
One of the greatest cars
Funny how you couldn’t Give these away in the 60’s and 70’s!!
Umm what do you mean, you couldn’t give them away?? First of they were a about 2x the price of others and then. If your talking about the Fuel crisis that was the late 70’s!
You can her it guzzling a gallon of gas with every rev
Dude and doing it right haha
I am about to quote someone a job but need to know an approximate time to quote. Doing this on the side. Help us immensely appreciated! ❤
From start to finish, I can do it in 90 minutes on a rust-free Southern car. I'd say 2 to 3 hours is a fair time.
Wow! I’m trying very hard to pay attention, but keep noticing your carburetor screen all banned up??? OK! back to replay AGAIN!
Going to have to do this for my daughter soon because they quoted her 1400, lolz
well i guess i'm going to end this here
Nice that is awesome
Keep in mind that Mercedes was getting killed as the Dollar to Deutschmark ratio was sliding in the dollars favor. The 1979 300sd msrp was $3,000 higher than 1978 with minimal changes.
Man.... my 1978 Mercury Cougar has held up WAY better than both these vehicles. 86k miles as of today. Id love to show you
You didn't make that pass safely at all in the Lincoln. If I'd been that oncoming, I'd be p***ed and scared because you were forcing a really stupid risk situation. I see the same dumb stuff daily during my commute and it often results in bang- ups and injury due to impatient or rash reactions and the lack of situational awareness. If you travel farm or rural roads, you deal with slower vehicles rationally. You exhibit really stupid driving skills and you're lucky you haven"t hurt anyone yet. .
Lincoln... all day long! I had a 78 Thunderbird, same car just not as plush. After the T- bird a couple LTD's, and the last 2 were Lincoln TC. Currently still driving my 2001 Town Car Cartier Series as it's still fantastic as a daily driver and I am the original owner. 249K. These cars don't wear out. Great video.
I can just picture Sweet Lenny the pimp exiting that Lincoln at the player's ball back in '78.
A stark contrast to the old woman listening to gospel and country 8-Tracks that was its original owner.
The Lincoln looks awful inside (and outside for that matter). It looks awful period.
The merc is more handsome to my eyes. The Lincoln looks like it was drawn in MS Paint by an elderly woman.
A ‘78 continental with no vogue tires? Why....
A set of Vogue tires would cost more than I paid for the car. Check out my video of how it was when purchased.
I associates Vogues with Cadillacs.
A lincoln is like drivin a fuckin waterbed, fuhgettaboutit
benz wins hands down. i appreciate american luxury cars. im a german immigrant to the usa and own cadillacs and 2 benz, and in that age group, benz is always the winner.
Go back
My car runs too. 😅
Wow, what an ending to that video
Congratulations!... Great Buy For The Year!...
Looks like you got it made with that car, what a Gem.
very nice 78 300sd turbo diesel when I was real young my father had a 79 300sd turbo diesel but in silver color with black leather
This is the 942nd 300SD ever made. Very early!
I had no idea when I got it; only that there are not a lot of '78s kicking around. I've had people tell me there weren't any built in '78 as well.
@@DraculasCars There definitely were cars made in '78, but not nearly as many as in '79 or '80. It's believed that the first car was produced in February 1978.
Isn’t the block grounded? Meaning, the other glow plugs that are on the same harness are what’s grounding your connection?
Yes, but the issue was a plug grounding through itself causing it to be a direct ground that negated the rest of the plugs.
Oil shortage made for cheap plastic
Have you seen a second gen dodge ram?
About to start this project myself today.. great info!!!
Sometimes I wish I fixed things the right way the first time with firebird. Most of my time is now spent correcting the things I half-assed 5years ago
That's my least favorite part of any project; going back and fixing the things that were broken or installed wrong before I got it. It's always best to do it the right way; but, not always possible...
Nice car drac. Where I’m from the rust gets them more than anything
I've never seen a 116 that was this solid before. Getting her back to daily driver status has been straightforward, but tedious.
Yeah .. that's probably more than Barr's Stop Leak can seal
Black Pepper
Just stick a lil chewing gum there good as new
I'm not above doing whatever it takes to get home.
Nothing as permanent as a temporary repair
I used to owen one in mint condition, and sold it for $100 in Dodge City, Ks.

Will do. I'm dedicated to driving them.
Hello Sir, I visited your CZcams channel. Your CZcams video content is amazing. But Your CZcams channel subscribers and viewers are not increasing because your CZcams videos are not using quality full video tags or keywords. SEO score on your CZcams videos is also not good. This means that your CZcams videos are not reaching your target audience. Your CZcams channel will be monetized very easily if your CZcams videos reach your target audience. If you want I can solve your CZcams video problems and help grow your channel. If you are free I can talk with you on Google meet or zoom about your CZcams channel. Thank You Saif
Thank you for the offer, but I'm not overly concerned with monetization. I make these videos to share cars I find interesting and to highlight the things that led me to buy them in the first place. I'm ecstatic that others find them and enjoy them, but it's a hobby; not a for-profit enterprise.
I have one as well. Do you have any parts your looking to sale?
I traded it on another vehicle; sorry.
The W116 300SD was a two model year run made in '79 and '80 only.
1978 was the first year. My title, VIN, and original order info corroborate this. It had a 3-year run.
Only important people had those in 78’ I remember…
My early 78 300SD has 733,000 miles. Great car change oil every 2500 miles. They can go for ever.
The first priority is getting the worn-out rubber replaced, then whatever else is needed to make it roadworthy.
No way. Please upload a video of it! I need to see this car.
It is in storage now. There is a old MCI bus setting in front of the car. At least it is inside. The car needs the tranny look at. I am the 3 rd care giver of the car.@@ShervinsGarage
Nice! That interior color and style is great. Whatever happened to your Dodge Monacos?
I sold off most of what I had when I moved to Texas; including the pair of Monacos and the AMC Ambassador.
@@DraculasCars Oh. I guess I haven't checked this channel in a long while... 😅 Those were my favorites.
All I've got left for Chrysler products are the '66 Imperial and '82 Imperial.
@@DraculasCars do you still have the 6.9?
Traded it on this car; but, will have the first option to buy it back if the new owner sells.
