    Bonjour, that me again do the black and white film of today can take the réd Light?

    • @homestudioplace
      @homestudioplace Před 13 dny

      There are 2 kinds of black and white film. The more common kind is panchromatic which is sensitive to most wavelengths including red light (think Ilford HP5+ and FP4+). The other kind is orthochromatic film (like Ilford Ortho Plus) which is sensitive only to blue and green light, but not red. This kind can take some exposure to red light without harm.

  • @journalsofathirddensitytra3498

    How do you take out the film after??

    • @homestudioplace
      @homestudioplace Před 18 dny

      With roll film like this, you just keep advancing it until the whole spool is taken up. Then the paper backing will be covering the film so you can safely remove it. Unfortunately, there's no way to see, so you just have to keep turning the advance until you're sure you've gone far enough. There's no harm if you keep going. Once you remove the spool, stick the end tab down so it doesn't come loose.

    Dust is difficult to avoid. Working in electronics engineering, a sneaky science approach to cleaning lenses untilises an anti-static mat with an anti-static wrist band. This keeps the body and work mat grounded of static electricity. If your body and work area is no longer positively charged (no potential difference), you won't attract dust to you or the lens you're working on ;) ;) ......just as a reminder that using an air blower to clean off dust actually creates static electricity which attracts more dust!

    Could i use a dab of raw coconut oil ?

    • @homestudioplace
      @homestudioplace Před 4 měsíci

      I wouldn't personally recommend it. With a quick web search, I learned that coconut oil has good lubricity properties but higher wear than similar mineral oils. The main problems, in my uneducated opinion, would be two things. 1) The pour point of coconut oil is around 21-24C, which means at or below that temperature, it will be a solid, which probably isn't good for the movement of camera parts. 2) It can go rancid and support mold growth.

From studio, click "content" on the left side, then click the "pencil" looking icon on the video you want to edit (it will show "details" when you mouse over it). this will bring you to the details screen for the video where you can edit the title and description. • @homestudioplace
      @homestudioplace Před 6 měsíci

      Wish I could. It's hard over text. First, be careful. These cameras are old (duh), and the bellows are very likely to tear. If it's been closed for a long time, likely many years, the folds may be stuck and the fabric/paper has hardened. It's also possible the metal standard is stuck. It should slide along the bottom rails fairly easily, but if something is bent, misaligned, or rusted, that may be the reason. Good luck!
