It's just because of the topography of the lot. The front end of the house up near the street is only a foot off the ground and then my lot slopes pretty hard down hill towards the back end, so to keep it level, that back end, ends up being about 4 feet off the ground.

Since I don't have a fully fenced yard, that's how I like them! Ha! But a lot of it has to do with the daily 2ish mile walks they get. If I skip a day or two they get a bit antsy. But Kallie is a lot more mellow than Baby.

Thanks! Yeah, I debated staining the bevel siding but my friends and family all agreed to just paint it the same color. I was 50-50 on it so I deferred to their input. Ha!

Yeah, I bet the do. I have seen them for smaller saws but I imagine they cost quite a bit. Being that I keep killing cheap blades, it's probably worth it.

I would have used wood glue on the back sides of the gussets and a ton of nails and or screws. Pretty much just defer to how I see other folks build truss's with gussets on here since I've never done it, I suppose. Ha!

Fair enough but it was the first time I ever used one and most of the trees that were still standing wanted to fall in directions that may hit a fence or house so I was too scared to go that.

But I'm at a point where it all feels worth it now and well, since every other piece of property out here is absurdly priced, I can always sell it for a pretty good profit. Then I can buy my neighbors place and do it all over again. Ha!
