Love your channel! Your ARTISTIC Abilities are sooo Appreciated my dear!! ❣️🔥❣️
love your little loose hairs in the front!
Dang wish u were here in the Bay Area. I want locs soooo bad but I’m scared, gotta find the right person 😮💨
Hi everyone How would you braid in a single dreadlock with no top loop Essentially it’s a dread cut out of hair Cheers
What do you mean?? Caucasians seem to like TOO much of Black culture 💯
I am wanting to get dread extensions, what does the maintenance look like? With my natural hair, I don't have to brush it ever (it doesn't tangle, I run my fingers through during weekly condition to get all the shed out), and I wash it once a week. Am I getting myself into a situation that requires a lot more upkeep?
If someone wants to donate me a jeep id be all set 😂
Where are you located?
im just starting my dreadlock journey and doing it on your own im realizing is not an easy task, especially when your brand new to it. started with twist and rip, then realized backcombing was working better. then i found crochet hooking to be the best for my very straight hair type. i really messed up sectioning it off in the start and now its proven more difficult because of that. so now im just trying to get better at the crochet hook method. i have been making many mistakes on my journey but i am learning. just wish i didnt screw up so bad at the start, i really want to start over but im not giving up.
I'm thinking about starting my journey just don't know where to fully start
@@djcoolhobo6768 I felt the same and then I just started doing it. Go for it!! If your doing it on your own be prepared for sore arms and fingers haha. I wish I had help at least sectioning off my hair. Today I made a lot of progress and it's starting to come together now that I'm getting crochet hooking down really good. You can do it. Just don't condition your hair before you start. I made this mistake early on
Could you do a tutorial on how to add length to dreads? Using your crochet method.
Cool video Liz! I’m all about ACV rinse even if I don’t have dreads☺️
Always pushing into black spaces what a shame
your locs are actually really nice, usually when i see people who arent black their locs dont really look that great but yours do, they suit you a lot
Tutorials are baaaaaaack and I’m here for it!! 👏👏👏
I quit using dollylocks shampoo and started making my own with fresh herbs (lately it's been nettle and rosemary). I only shampoo once a week and I only shampoo my scalp area never the length of my butt long dreads. I always just drip everywhere lol! Love you Liz, and I'm so loving the consistent videos lately!!!!! 🖤💚
are you closing down dolly locs?? 😢 a lot of items have been out of stock a long time and there was just a massive sale
No, they are redoing their image and I believe ingredients from what their latest post stated. Hopefully in the next few months they'll be restocking!
Wow you look great
I just started my head. I have a couple done lol
So hot.
Nice video thanks for sharing I've been wondering i recently got dreads and there is a lake next to my place is it ok to wet my dreads in the lake water when i go swimming or i should make sure they dont get wet at all. Also my dreads are kinda recent 3 months ive been crocheting the loose hair maybe once a month but they seem to come back so quickly they look really nice a few days and then it's like i haven't done anything they all get really fizzy.. is it because I'm not patient enough ? They also started to become kinda stiff at some spot and loose at other i think they might be starting to lock but it makes bumps here and there not really uniform i don't know how to work on that.. anyway thanks for everything love your video !
🧵🪡👋🏻
I wanted to love Dollylocks, but it's honestly not that great and they lie about the ingredients and being all natural. I'm open to new, better suggestions. I have so many Dollylocks shampoo and shampoo bars that I don't like.
Loc'd hair isn't matted or twisted hair. My locs are not matted. Wax and conditioners are bad for locs. Locs can be changed at any time. Locs dont take a long time to dry. Products for loc'd hair are terrible. Palm rolling is a bad idea, because you have to know how to palm roll. Rubbing the locs is not palm rolling. Crochet is a terrible idea. Interlocking and crochet just puts holes in the loc. Loc's should never ever feel heavy. Checking to see if locs are thinning at the root can cause that heaviness and pain. Re-twisting and crocheting will thin the loc. It's best to leave yor locs alone sometimes. We are always going to have loose hairs especially at the root because hair is growing. Leave it alone or wrap near-by loose hairs around the loc with water spritz. It will loc up.
In two weeks time I'm having dreads 😁 it's been a long time coming, two and half year's growing my hair. I've never used any mainstream products as all of them contain a poison in one sort of way or another. Please could you let me know if you know of any totally natural product that will help wash and keep my dreads in good condition, thank you so much for this video and your other videos, glad I found you just as I'm having my dreads put in , very informative sending love, peace and good energy from Wales 🏴❤️🙏🏻 Ps your dreads are beautiful ❤️🙏🏻
✌️😊
Bronner's and other coconut oil based products rinse less well. Even Bronners, the O.G, will say, dilute it with water by 75% for use and then rinse with a cider vinegar/water blend to make sure the product is broken down and actually rinsed out. Dollylocks, same thing, over time, lots of buildup. It does not have to be expensive or complicated~ Shampoos with actual surfactants are worth using in between use of those that are saponified-oil based, and a deep cleanse is very worthwhile! I used to (overuse) salt sprays, perfume refresher sprays, oils, and coconut oil/saponified oil "shampoos" (which are actually soaps) all of that and the buildup was terrible. Making my own taught me so much, and the more I make, the simpler it becomes. I go back to "the less product, the better" every time, but that is what my hair type asks for. If you have problems, consult with a loctician! Essential oils can be very irritating to the scalp, there is no big advantage to using them (aside from maybe tea tree, which is proven to have some anti-fungal properties and can be useful for anti-itch formulations). Some of them smell nice, I agree, but they are chemically extracted concentrated volatile oils that can be harsh in their own right. Use sparingly if you are having issues. Whole-plant oils without added scent are very healing however!
Nice 👏 👏 great tips, love dreadlock videos,I personally use and love Dollylocks,I've tried a number of different shampoos and it seems to be best for me,I wash once a week and I'm currently overdue for a deep cleaning lol 😆 I also use the Dollylocks conditioning oil,it's great,I just use it occasionally when my dreads start to feel dry and crunchy 😂❤, thanks for the video, can't wait for more.😊😊
OhmyGod I was SO excited to see you do another dreadlock video!!! Thank you!!! I love, love, love these! Would love a video on home maintenance and using essential oils!!! 😊🎉
STOP CALLING THEN DREADLOCS. THERE'S NOTHING TO DREAD ABOUT THEM. DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THAT.
There are very few people I'll watch a video of their's in the wee hours, but your's is the exception! I've only had my dreads for just over a year and I have done my share of trials of shampoos. I've even learned to make my own tightening spray and my own essential oil spray. Wish I would have had this video in the young days of my locs, but I for sure still benefited from this now. I do struggle with dry scalp and just put drops of jojoba oil around my scalp and give it a little rub or mist distilled water and essential oil mix into my scalp and massage. If you have any suggestions on that, I'd really appreciate it! But with shampoo I've learned to rotate from three that really helps plus I put my shampoo in a glass and add a cup of warm water and mix to help distribute it and not have one big area in my scalp. Anyway, this was great and I really appreciate everything you teach us!!!❤
Love this video! I've had my freeform dreads for a little over a year now and have just stuck with the shampoo bars I've always used.
Can you swim with dreads? And if they get moldy from being wet can they be saved?
Yes and yes! Sea/salt water is great for dreads and chlorine shouldn't hurt them. The biggest thing is to just make sure, like Liz said, they dry completely. I don't have personal experience with moldy dreads as I am pretty anal with drying mine but I have seen a few videos/read a few blogs where people have successfully saved them. I am sure it depends how far gone they are and how much you want to save them but from what I have seen/read it is possible. I hope this helps!
I kayak all the time so I swim in rivers a lot. You can swim with dreadlocks in a river, lake, etc. after I get out, I gently "wring them out" so to speak. Definitely do a double wash afterwards, wring again, and dry. Never go to bed with wet dreads. That's all my advice lol.
So glad to see u back on CZcams lovely 😎 love ur educational videos to ur road trips and climbing mountains. Keep up the great work xoxo
I know one more method: on wool socks: you take sock and rub your hair like a lot - it takes really lot time but results are quite nice
