Yes. For anyone curious we realised she was scared by the shadow of a bird flying past the window. After that we made sure the window was either covered or they played in another location.

I am not supposed to be teaching anyone anything, I'm showing what the in-game tutorial is like...

There were a lot (no really, a lot) of attempts before I recorded this one. Unless I've missed something that makes it easy it's mainly about reducing your speed as you come up to it & not waiting for the 'Slow Down' warning. While practising I went from massively overshooting to completely undershooting, it is definitely difficult to get used to. I find, if you want to be cautious, you can stay at 20C+ until you get to about 100-120Ls then start to slow down to about 1/4 speed. Also the throttle seems to be relative to the distance you are from the object. Kinda hard to explain, but it always seemed that way to me (unless you keep at full throttle of course). For reference I believe the units are C = N x Speed of light, LS = Light Seconds, MM = Millions of Meters (Megameters), KM = Kilometers. I believe it is Megameters rather than Milions of Miles, I could be wrong though. Ones with /S on the end are just a measurement of speed (per second) instead of distance. I think of C as equal to LS to keep things simple. So if you are travelling at 20C you are going about 20LS. Hope that helps. I'll try to make another video with some tips on this if it will help.

Paul Robinson Phew, I was beginning to think that I was doing it wrong, but if so I know I'm not alone ;-) BTW for me, the yaw controls don't work in frameshift -- are you using something else when you adjust your orientation horizontally?

Giles Thomas Haha. Nope. I've had a fair amount of success with keeping my speed within the blue area once you are within 200 - 300Ls. I know the blue area is for turning circle but it seems to work for judging the speed too. I use Key/Mouse and use A & D to realign during FSD, which I guess would be Yaw. I can say for sure, if we aren't missing something, getting your speed right on approach is definitely a skill. It can go wrong very quickly. I've been interdicted a few times while within 20 - 30 Ls and ended up flying into a planet's gravity well.

Paul Robinson Thanks! I'm using keyboard/mouse too, but A/D don't seem to work -- perhaps I just need to play with the bindings (or wait until my joystick arrives from Amazon :-) Will try playing with using the blue area too, that sounds like a useful rule of thumb.

Giles Thomas Was playing last night and hit one of those system with a station 200,000Ls away. Needless to say I overshot haha. I still find it difficult to judge sometimes, but I guess it's not much different to driving a car and slowing down for your exit on the motorway... Just you're in space & travelling at N x the speed of light. :P

I go between the Elf & the Wizard. The wizard is OP, but I like the play style of the elf, despite only having a few attacks.

Apparently they counted what I called level 0 and level 1 all one level so my numbering is one too high. I counted it as any time there was a loading screen. I'll change them eventually.

Is it? Which is level 9? AFAIK when you go up the lift on this level you are at the ending (which has no puzzle so I didn't record it).

Paul Robinson Ya the 9th one you don't do anything. So technically I guess 8 would be the last level.

Yeah... Not sure if it's done purposely or not. I know it's annoying as hell when you get to the end and drop the ball on the other side of the wall.
