While evaluating the trainees of Dream Academy, I had an interesting thought. Usually, when we discuss the winners of a survival show, we focus on the "moment we knew a member would debut." Yui and Lingling was robbed
Belle’s a stronger vocalist than rami? I’m genuinely curious
I think 5 gen girl group bring back 3 gen girl group 4 members: KIOF and Blackpink 9 members: Baby monster and Twice (ik bm has 7 and not 9 is the same big girl group like twice) 5 members: illit and Red Velvet
KIOF NO. 1 🔛🔝
Minju slayyyys❤
Glad you notice about Gehlee! Her voice is amazing! And hoping theyll give her more lines next comeback
Do you have plans to analyze top 12 that entered part 2?
yes, i do but planning to do it when we could see how things would further unfold in part 2.
Asa from BM can sing too
nana was such a big loss, she could shine a lot in IWALY and she even could be saved bcs she was very popular in japan
too bad she wasn’t highlighted in the show
Babymonsters are just amazing
To be honest i would love to replace yui with yuju😢
I do think that New Jeans aren't the best singers, but they aren't exactly bad. They are good with the songs that they are singing and that's what matters, their voices/vocal range suits the songs that they perform and that is more than enough. New Jeans are really good at what they are doing, that's why they're popular. Even while not being the best with vocals, they are great at performing their own songs! <3
If we're talking about vocals. Elisia is the one to look out for. She's still yound adn yet she's that good. Imagine what she can do with her voice in the future. Nott o mention she's filipina. If you know what i mean. 🙂
If we're talking about hybe then vocal standards are below average even for boy groups .. enhypen is most vocally undeveloped bg under hybe they barely sing live heesung has potential but has no support they're stable whenever they sing live hence aren't called out as much..the bg with genuinely good technical vocalist who can support is seventeen..bts and fromis9 are ok...but txt , enhypen ,boy next door, lesserafim, new jeans most of the groups under hybe doesn't no basic techniques has no support what so ever..there are alot of potential vocalist like taehyun, new jeans, yunjin chaewon, boy next door etc who can develop as a vocalist by practicing skills but hybe clearly isn't providing vocal coaching..and are making vocalist singing above their vocal range resulting in most of them being strained vocally
Would love for more videos on I-Land 2 and especially the current 12 contestants skills & performances in Part 2!
Would you guys love a performance review too? But the top 12 are already in line for review. I’m just looking forward how this would unfold.
this was a good video, you where blunt and not sugar coating, i hope you continue to make videos like this so we(viewers) can see the progress of each GG.
Thank you! Will do!
I love Lingling and Yui
what if they debut together? hihi
@@EKCristobal they would debut with a badass concept
hybe bought an AI company specializing on replicating human voices, with the very intention of using that as a vocal solution of sorts... let that sink in.... also, legally, hybe has the right to use all of hybe's former, current and future vocal recordings to feed in on the AI. those artists' voices could and would be used to train. if a response is what you want, then thats hybe's response and move. they are effectively telling us that they dont care about their artists training and growth since they could be fixed with technology anyways
tbh newjeans doesn't even sound that bad
Absolutely babymonster on top
YUI was definitely better than Fuko in 3 aspects (Dance, Rap, and stage presence). She has more skills that are clearly better than Fuko but she still got eliminated. Fuko is good in vocal but that does not mean she's better with only one strong aspect. I mean she's not even the best Vocalist in the show.🤦🏻♀️
I respect your opinion, but I disagree on some points. While it's true that Yui excels in aspects like dance and rap compared to Fuko, stage presence can vary depending on the concept and is largely subjective. However, the focus here is not solely on who has the most skills, but rather on who best embodies the central theme of the IWALY performance they both competed in. In terms of vocals, Fuko demonstrated strength in this area. Moreover, I must agree with the producers' decision, as I believe Fuko possessed a stronger star quality and better fit the concept for IWALY. The performance was more about overall performance skills (skills + star quality with stage presence as one of its strongest aspect), rather than technical dance skills alone, which may have given Fuko another advantage. This isn't to say Yui doesn’t have star quality; sometimes, it's about how well a contestant's strengths align with the performance's requirements. To consider another perspective, if the IWALY performance had a darker vibe, Yui might have had a stronger impact because that concept would align better with her strengths, thereby making her stage presence more noticeable. Lastly, your statement "She has more skills that are clearly better than Fuko but she still got eliminated" may wrongly imply blame on Fuko. However, Fuko has no control over Yui's voting outcome, so it wasn't her responsibility. The elimination is in the past now, and we can view it as a redirection for Yui. Undoubtedly, she has gained valuable lessons from her experience on the show.
@@EKCristobalTo be honest, it's is basically Visual and popularity are more importantant than stronger skills
@@marinettedupaincheng8751 You basically ignored everything they said, Fuko outdoubtly performed IWALY better than Yui because the song suits her better.
Rap isn’t even a necessary skill an idol must have, only if the group opts to have a rapper or rap verses in their songs.Fuko has clearly shown a more developed and overall skillet as an idol and she also has leading qualities, which would greatly benefit the group. The girls know, that they can count on her and that asset alone makes her a more valuable member than yui. This isn’t about visuals or popularity as you guys like to throw these words around loosely. Not only that but she seems to be one of the most consistent contestants, who knows her skills and is able to transfer her knowledge to others.I really have to completely disagree with that statement.
Appreciate your honest and non-biased, structured review on Lingling.👍🙏🙏 Awaiting LL to debut elsewhere. Missing her already!😢😢
Thank you. Hoping only the best for her!
I feel like most UNIS fans are filo's ,,, 😂😂😂 ,
that's reason why two filipinos won that show.
BaByMoNsTeR really slays
UNIS members during Universe Ticket is a different story. If you watch it you’ll know what kind of monsters Elisia, Seowon, Hyeonju, Bang Yunha and Gehlee are when it comes time to vocals and stage presence.
Yui never deserved to be eliminated
Can’t wait to see her slaying in another group someday!
Gyuri just got saved because korea favoritism
I feel like Yui's vocal has improved so much from Baggy Jeans to IWALY.
there were improvements, yes
I agree with this video about UNIS, I hope the management does their job better.
They even gave almost half of the lines to a member with below or average vocals that didn’t even fluent in korean also 😂 it’s sad for gehlee and elisia lol despite having good vocals.
I dont get why this type of programs give the girls dont get at 2 to 4 dance and specialy singing teachers. The amoung of progress they the would be able to show specially in singing would be compeling. Like your ranking cleary demonstrates the lack of singing fundamentals that the equivalent in dancing selection criteria is a bit higher. -- From the 12 who do you think has the most potential for being a finalist "rapper"? Yuju has a bit of this title. But unfortunally I dont think that she will make it. This new phase makes me think that the final group concept will be between ive and aespa.
Hi, Firstly, I apologize if I misunderstood your first statement, but I assume you are talking about why the program doesn’t provide girls with 2 to 4 dedicated dance and especially singing teachers. On this point, I agree. Programs like Produce 101 and the Planet series had more focused coaches before and even after interim checks. However, since this is a different program, similar to the first season, relying on the producers' feedback and having the participants figure things out themselves might be part of their training method.
Secondly, while I agree with your point about the lack of fundamentals in singing and the criteria for dance selection being a bit higher, I want to clarify that this ranking is based on their final ranks in the show itself, considering the producers' and i-mates' votes, rather than me ranking them based on their skills.
Thirdly, regarding the rapper, I also thought they could be maximizing Yuju for the rap because I believe she has the best flow overall. But I'm not a rapper, so this is only based in my opinion. However, as you said, it’s hard to predict what might happen next.
Lastly, initially, after hearing that Teddy would produce the group and that many producers come from The Black Label, I thought we had a clear idea of the concept the final group might take. But based on their recent Black Made test, I agree with you that the final concept might end up being something between IVE and aespa, or a combination of both. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
@@EKCristobal you got it right, sorry for the confusing writing. Their feedback sometimes look to be lacking, specially in timing, I know that they talk more then what is showed, but isnt much construtivist like a teacher or coach would do or similar to a professional setting ( from my small personal experience). Oh I liked the last 101, but the large amoung of candidates makes harder to get to know better potential finalist. I use to skip around lot too due repetitive narrative / editing.
At the end its all about vocal support range
Hey there's 12 people left and I'ld like to say the people who have the biggest dance of not debuting from my analysis (don't scroll down if u dont want spoilers). I would like to say I am also immensely disappointed in Yui not debuting. 1. juwon 2. saebi 3. sujung 4. jungeun 5. gyuri 6. mai Those who will 100% debut (or almost 100%) are jeemin, jiyoon and maybe fuko? The ones I'm ??? about are sarang, koko and yuju.
4/6 who have the most secured debut spots atm in no particular order: 1. Saebi 2. Jiyoon 3. Jeemin 4 Fuko others who are most liked by mnet: Sarang, Mai, Koko
My girl Yui always gave a great performance 💅🏾
yes and the stars will align for her in time…
Can't get enough.
Please do baby monster dance analysis after debut
planning on waiting for their full album to have more recent materials but let’s see what we can do~
Fake
I wish I could see Yuiko more. Tbh Choi Soul is very cute, I love to see her performing. I am very sorry for YUI. She is in my top pick. I am very sad.
I can see Yuiko’s potential as well as Soul - these 2 will be scary if properly honed cause they already have that natural strong appeal on stage.
Yui will rise someday!
This is an amazing break down, its so unbiased
thank you
Me personally couldn't care less about pretentious competition from the debut. What all matters to me is the songs. I know groups will improve because I have seen it before. I'm more excited about the songs than worrying about the vocals. Probably why QWER is having a better success than all the other 5th gen groups besides ILLIT. Their songs are bops. Their title track is doing better on the streaming charts than Babymonster. General public don’t care about mainly vocals, if the song is good it hits hard like a rocket. Most 4th gen groups had questionable vocals but very good songs. Even if they now have improved it doesn’t hit the same as their previous songs. IVE was better before I've Mine with worse vocal quality. They never missed with their songs, but now I feel their songs are becoming repetitive despite their improvement in vocals. How come BTS become so big later on? The songs are the key. Permission to dance, Butter and Dynamite which are not their best songs but their most popular songs that made Hybe worth $12 billion in 2021. The big three except JYP are now jealous at Hybe and the hate train towards the artists have escalated in the recent year that the agencies have to take legal action against the haters. We are not talking about vocal criticism here. Way worse things. All in all, the industry needs to strike a balance between decent vocals and very good songs. If you don't have the songs you will be forgotten. Yurina Hirate doesn’t have the most impressive vocal technique but her performance is what drew me in despite her decent vocals. The song, performance and aura. I was locked in. I loved her gloomy worldview. When I listened to Buzz cover from Minju I feel the performance and her aura. That's what makes a good artist rather than a pretentious vocalist. K-pop fans will eventually grow a pair.
To be honest Jeemin is not bad but she is overreated... everyone is choosing popularity and look over talent. I don't get it how she has higher ranks than Jiyoon, Jungeon or Fuko 😢
maybe because she is as good as Jiyoon, Jungeun and Fuko at what she does and in her talents. Like bro, wdym overrated? She was a legit finalist for R U NEXT and was a top trainee at Belift too. The others are good too - don't put down one trainee to promote your favs
@@aurumdias750 Actually they are not my main favs but i'm not saying she is bad but i mean she gets promoted because of R U Next and other trainees in ILAND 2 are as good as her or even better and gets ranked low because people promote her more. And that's good but at the same time not fair for the others. But that's my opinion
@@bn0639 Did you watch R U Next? If so maybe you feel that way bc you're used to seeing her skills, or maybe bc she doesn't seem to have improved much since R U Next. But it doesn't change the fact that Jeemin is one of the top trainees on the show who deserves to debut
@@naordc i watched it 🥲 i'm really happy that she is here but still... she is good and improved but some contestants are better than her and get lower ranks and i just don't get it why...
there is a reason why jeemin made it and not other visual contestants like yeeun, she has star quality. Jeemin’s personality is likeable and she does have good stage presence, which is even more strengthened if it is a more dark/mature concept. Her presence on stage is proved in La vie en rose performance and even in performances like Dream of You and PRIDE on RUNEXT. Jeemin also has good idol dancing skills and she certainly knows how to use her face as seen in Final Love Song. I do agree her vocals are comparatively lacking but thats something she can work on with training easily. However, star quality cannot be trained and you are either born with it or you need to discover it yourself.
Kiof is 1st definitely.
BABYMONSTER👑👑👑👑
Ok anyone who stans both babymonster and kiof are the ones who stan actual talent and music 👏🏻
Um Jiwon had a jaw injury, hence she never fully opened her mouth, she’s been getting treatment all while going to school and competing in iland2
My sincerest apologies, I should’ve researched more regarding her case. It must have been so hard on her part. Despite this, her natural vocal skills still shine. Thank you for sharing this detail.
Yeah I was wondering why she didn't fully open her mouth to sing
@@kimkardashi-un2.051Unfortunately, i don’t remember it being shared in the show? Or did I just miss it? Or perhaps Jiwon and her fam didn’t agree on airing the reason behind? Regardless, I wish they aired it though, so it can reach more people and understand her situation.
I come across some of the performances but I haven’t really been following the survival show. May the best and deserving girls debut.
It’s totally worthy to watch! Even I am worried of the possible final number of members because the lineup, especially those in part 2 are strong strong.
