Great!
I work as mechanic elevator
Wow, other than this not really showing quite as much tilting and turning of wall segments and things into place, this is still a really good video that shows how the process works; thanks!
"...And completing these connections now make up the bulk..." Oops, ya dropped an s... I think it belongs on "make[s]." Oh yep, here it is: ---|> s 😉
"...Causing them to raise." * rise
At 1:45 in this video... i would never use a beam clamp to hook on and erect steel... any other opinions/thoughts?
I understand but some GCs require this. I’m on a job for Turner construction where they insisted we use beam clamp vs nylon straps.
I freakin love Johnny Colon

Its elevator union. That union is full of nepotism. If your not an owners son or grandson good luck getting accepted
How do they install the motors and the controllers on the older roof top models??
Installation of a TK elevator
idiots using a beam clamp inside of a steel choker, non union for sure idiots
Another fine Rat! job.
That crane driver looks stoned out of it 🤣
I was Otis service engineer in London England for 30+years and for your American audience I serviced the lifts as we call them in England in Buckingham Palace
Yes lift shafts and all its equipment is inspected quite often depending upon the maintenance schedule by the lift company also once a year by the insurance inspector
In India technician are not getting paid well.. They are getting only 2$ per hour..
must be hillbilllies non union not even a real crane, plus clamp is illegal to use for erection,
No one is wearing a harness smfh

Hello My job is elevator I work in Iran I would like to continue outside of Iran I have ten years of experience
Very good and educational. Thanks for sharing.
hello good morning i am saikou. i am an electrician . my roll is installation oh resdintial and commercial. but now i am interested in elevator installation but i dont no any best school ot start . can anyone help me with a link
Nice overview of installing an elevator. Anybody have a link to more detailed videos of some of the major components such as the doors and sensors? And what gets replaced during a modernization? Really trying to understand that whole process.
The narration states that if the rails aren't accurately installed to within 1/64", the elevator could come out of the rails. I'd have to disagree. Most slide guides and roller guides have a much wider tolerance for rail misalignment, easily to 1/32", 1/8", etc. Yes, 1/64" is the standard, but misaligned rails are much more likely to cause problems with the car door clutch-to-pick up rollers operation, or car guide problems, etc. But it is just misleading to claim that the car could come out of the rails unless the rails or brackets are installed to within 1/64".
How much does an elevator installation cost?
That's similar to asking how much a car costs. An economy car might be $25k, and a Bugatti might be in the millions. The price varies vary widely, depending on method of drive, height, features, geographical area of installation, etc. Just roughly, a small, basic elevator might be in the neighborhood of 50k, while a tall, high speed, high specification elevator could be in the hundreds of thousand$.
This is interesting and explanatory. So proud to be an installer.Love from Nigeria ❤️👍
My guess is that you get about 1-2k views per term just from the course I'm in
I’m active duty usmc I was looking at this profession when getting out. Does any elevator installer have any tips?
Not sure how it is in the us I'm a aussie installer, get used to reading measurements very accurately, when adjusting to a measurement don't pretend it's good if it's out by half a millimetre you need to get it right or it will be alot more work later. Buy some decent hand tools to start and if you need to borrow a tool off your trainer more than once you need to buy it.
@@kyeattard7187 thanks mate
Learn to read a tape measure if you don’t already know. And be familiar with hand tools and power tools. I am prior service myself and just got into the trade going on 4 months. If you have any questions reach out to me.
@@meganandmichaelrodriguez8874 thank you. I’ll start with the basics then. Very much appreciated.
Lame…. We want to see Union Ironworkers!
