I had a good friend who was a member of the Canadian military stationed out of Yellowknife at Northern Region Headquarters. In the early 1970's he and his wife went on a canoe trip down the Coppermine. We're not sure what happened but both of them went over Bloody Falls and drowned. I can't remember if their bodies were recovered, but I do remember the S&R people found the battered canoe and camping gear. Very sad.

Is that angles and editing or is it rowdier than I remember? It's worth paddling down the MacKenzie to Norman wells and stopping at Tulita along the way.

this is the definition of 'conflict of interest'. Why? Because , having travelled the CANOL and the Mackenzie/Selwyn Chains for years , you really want people to see this unparalleled territory ( and this video more than does justice in that regard ) , BUT , the very last thing the region needs is masses of unprepared tourists chewing the trails up with ATVs and weinerschitzel wrappers. ( then again , some rich and tenderised Euro-hiker flesh would keep the bear population thriving up there ! )

+Peter Ion It's always a tough balance. You want the local economy to do well and for people to see the beautiful sites, but you also don't want floods of tourists ruining the place. I remember always going to Costa Rica as a kid in the late 80s, and it was untouched, pristine, and quiet. Since then, expats have moved there and American tourists come in in droves. It has taken away something from the place.

+Sommer Wiley I wonder the Canadian people if Canada is heaven that Brazilians speak? there are tens of thousands of Brazilian immigrants who immigrate to Canada in search of a better life, always say the same things, there is violence, there is employment for all, earn a lot of money even as a nanny or cleaner, people are kind and friendly, the government assists in 100% citizens and immigrants ... well .... are so many good things that Brazilians speak immigrants from Canada, it seems that they are being paid to advertise! PLEASE SOME CANADIAN COULD SPEAK THE TRUTH ON HOW IS LIFE IN CANADA? IMMIGRANTS SPEAK THE TRUTH OR They are living an illusion?
