Dude may win when the established President (Biden) is talking about taking everyone’s guns but in the same speech to NATO mentioned getting into the military industrial tech side to build a global arms trade for foreign powers! I felt Trump should have been in jail. But Where is the logic to give a speech to NATO about taking American guns. He should have commanded that podium with a let’s keep domestic issues to another meeting. Why is NATO concerned about American civilians having guns to mention it at their summit? When I lived there in the 80's, the Intervale was just beginning to be redeveloped after a long period of abandonment. WE ALL KNEW the reason they'd always been a hit-or-miss resource was due to flooding. Why is everyone acting like this is some rare and unpredictable tragedy?

People don't think when they built to close to any river. Same thing here in New Brunswick where people built in flood zones. Every year or two we get really bad flooding when 300 acres of farms land under water, forest between Fredericton and Jemseg on highway 105 New Brunswick

Starting to look like many attempts at improving local sustainability & resilience are not working very well. Never mind that re-localization is inflationary due to higher costs, there is also the problem of accelerating climate change and extreme weather events interfering with lots of hard work. Time to more closely examine evolving local conditions and adjust planning to try to adapt to the climate transition that is unfolding around us.

How heartening to see all the people and all the volunteers working those fields; granted disheartening to see tje flooded field just hours later. There was a time that in this state folks would work similarly to save crops for one reason or another.

We have to abandon low lying areas as floodplains. Farmers need to use regenerative practices. A healed soil can absorb a foot of rain but there's nothing to be done permanently for those living too close to water except move them.

No one felt it was admirable that they all volunteered their time and hard work, why is it that the poor always come together to help without expecting anything

Flood water management and storage and possibly transporting across states can turn these events into an opportunity for flooded and drier states both. Not sure if government is willing to take up the initiative but if not local authorities with participation of public communities is best self defense because at the end of the day like said, its homeowners who are at highest risk of loss since government has a cap on assistance

State of Emergency activates FEMA. The areas most affected must meet the minimum amount of damage criteria. If not. No money. We had this happen in Central PA flood 2021. Our county didn't reach the minimum amount and therefore out of luck. More eastern counties qualified for FEMA funds.
