Poor Marni.... Poisoned by Rotti, eyeballs cut out, hair removed, her preserved corpse stuck up in a hallway and then her corpse defiled again here. That woman never got a break. I think Rotti wanted her to suffer forever for leaving him. So Shiloh doing that would be an extra "fuck you" to Marni in the afterlife.

Man they put this song in the credits of the version of the movie i saw (without visuals) and I genuinely thought it was implying Shiloh had gotten hooked on Zydrate and GraveRobber was recruiting her to help him harvest Zydrate 😂😂

*the comment below is a reply to hail emmounds note about Nathan speaking to his dead wife, I copied it here for anyone to see if they wanted my opinion on it* I’ve noticed that too in the beginning of the “didn’t I…” he sings in lower tone speaking to marnie when he is speaking to Shilo “can’t we just go home shi and forget this dreadful night?” He sings in a much higher tone. Pay attention to his pitch though out this part when speaking to marnie is much lower then he switches to higher tone when speaking to shilo. When shilo asks him two questions “didn’t you say you we’re different..” and “say you aren’t that person…” he responds lower to the first because he’s responding to marnie and higher on second question because he’s responding to shilo. Then at the end when he says “didn’t I raise her all alone?” That’s where you hear marnie whispering “you did, you did”. Also at this part approx 2:10 on the right hand side you see marnie head in the camera angle proving even more of your theory of him speaking to marnie and then shilo throughout this entire scene. Bravo on you eagle eye perception!

I wish this made it in I’ve always loved this song! I live Paris anyway but her in this was just on another level and in house or was was great! But her abilities were really shown in this movie. This song showcased her voice better than her album did! I love this so much! Since it came out in high school! I’m almost 29 now!(next month lol) just rewatched it again since it’s free on prime. NEVER GETS OLD OR EVER WILL! I LOVE REPO SO MUCH! The Casting was phenomenal the songs the separate plots coming together and in comic book form! (I’m a collector 😉) just all of it ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIME! Sorry but overboard is my number one and my cousin Vinny at 2 lol this is 3! Lucky 3!!

I think what a lot of people are missing, even from the fandom wiki, is that Nathan was keeping Shilo dope sick, and that Zydrate was her "medicine"--she just didn't know it. She put it all together during the flashback she has onstage. GraveRobber is the one who tells her all about the world outside, and refers to Z as the "21st Century Cure", which also alludes to the fact that her medicine was Zydrate all along. Some idiot said in a review that GraveRobber's part wasn't even necessary at all, when in fact, he didn't only help with narration, but he showed Shilo what was really going on in the world that she wasn't seeing, helped her learn and grow as a person, and was, along with Shilo herself, the moral voice of the story (despite being a thief).

This is my favorite movie of all time, and I can say that it's very, VERY hard for me to cry, even when I feel sad. But this scene does it for me every time. Not only do I cry, I SOB like an idiot from beginning to end. The part where she says, "Sometimes I wanted to cry when the people on TV were not quite the way we were; somehow I guess I just knew...but I didn't know I love you so much.", it is EXACTLY the way my childhood was with my dad. There was so much mental illness, constant fear, and desperate love and protection there that he passed down to me through MY genetics, and the stressful environment I grew up in. He and I have always written and played music together, and I really, really want to do a version of this with him someday, (maybe add a few things here and there to have it fit even more perfectly) just for us, for posterity. God bless Terrance Zdunich for this masterpiece. I've been watching this movie and loving it more every single time, since 2009. Sometimes I just leave it on in the background and play it all day long. There are few "things" that I truly, truly treasure. Every object I have that I couldn't easily sell or give away could fit in a small backpack--and my first copy of Repo would be something I'll NEVER part with. I share this movie only with the people I love and trust the most. It's that near and dear to my heart. And everyone in it in some way has been a part of my life that has helped shape me. It's a rare thing to fall in love with something IMMEDIATELY--especially a film or album. Sometimes it takes a few times. Not with Repo. I was in love 10 minutes in, and have been ever since.
