Did the pooling ever come back for you ?
Very good video 😊
The easiest way is to short out the - side of the coil. Connect a wire from the - side of the coil to one side of the switch inside the car then connect a second wire from the other side of the switch to a ground. Use an existing screw that goes through metal under the dash for ground.
Good comment, thanks
17:08 When I used a chain I used one of the existing bolts from the upper latch. No need to add more hole in the hood. Also cover the chain with a bicycle tube. I would find both your switches easily. You need it tucked under where all the wires are. The 2nd switch is easier to see than the 1st. If someone wants your car bad then they will tow it. Check for clearance issues on that 2nd switch before drilling and also paint it before you install it. Now you have a different color paint on the panel. You do stuff backwards for some reason.😂 Also go buy the proper wire crimping tool.
Good comments, thanks
Wow, where to start……… Didn’t crack the bleeders when compressing pistons, as well as both calipers off when doing this. Didn’t replace clips or lube ends of pads at contact points Didn’t lube caliper pins Always replace rotors in pairs The dirt and debris pushed back into the abs pump is bad juju, maybe ok in the 60’s and 70’s but not ok today, I hope that’s your own car and I hope you’re never behind me in traffic.

Thanks, that is how I did my Mustang
Saw zero addition of mineral oil, wonder how long did the system last ?
It is seven years now and still blowing cold.
Thanks for teaching us
You can do it. Start with the easy jobs first then when you get more confident, you can do harder jobs.
When I replaced the rear shocks on my 78 Caddy Coupe, i placed the bolt and nuts back on the same way they were. Going upwards.
Everyone does it a little different.
Hey David I just want to say watching your content has helped me on my 72 Chevelle. Many thanks!
I love it. At least someone is learning from all my videos.
Where do you guys get your new cores from? Thanks.
National radiator supplier
way way to complicated how he do this ,, have much more ezy way do this
Buy a new one on the internet
Corporations could learn something from this man.
Nice video. A tripod would be nice, got a headache trying to watch this.
Sometimes the space does not allow me to use a tripod and there is no one around to hold the camera, so .....
Off of what car did you use disc brakes off of
I purchased a kit from Original Parts Group or National Parts Depot.
My 66 chevelle was running good and everything then the next day no power on the ignition when I try to turn the key can this be the same thing ?
No - if I remember correctly your ignition switch is on the dash and does not have a steering wheel lock. Do your head lights come on? battery Check the connection on the negative cable, it may not have a good ground May need to cur back 1 inch on both battery cables and put on new battery connectors, the cable could be green with corrosion.
This will be a dyeing trade very soon in California.........
Yes it will because it is cheaper to buy a new one. I wanted to use the original side tanks.
Just wondering, I think my bearing is OK. Can you just replace the seal as it’s leaking?
Yes but if it does not cost to much, you are right there.
Great information really helped and now I learned a lot from you
This is not hard to do. Just trying to teach people.
You are supposed to dilute concentrated antifreeze to approx. 50/50 mixture with water
Not if the truck is going to Upstate New York State where it can go minus 30 degrees F and below. I use a anti freeze gauge to let me know how low it can go before doing damage to the engine.
No o ring?
Where?

Would this apply to 305 SBC as well? I have an 84 pontiac with a 305 SBC and i have oil pooling in 3 of the 4 indents. Until now I assumed that the carb was flooding (with no evidence of gasoline on the outside of the carb) but having seen your video, I am now convinced that it is oil. (Im not an experienced mechanic, I can't tell if it is oil or gas. I guess one way to tell if the car sits for days, the gas would evaporate..) any advice would be appreciated! Thanks+
Put your finger in it. This is not hard, just take out each bolt put RTV on it and tighten it back up, then go to the next one.
@@davidlis6709 It was oil. I cleaned the area, took the bolts out (all threads where drenched in oil), cleaned them with carb cleaner and put black RTV on the threads. Due to the angle, I couldn't get the socket with the 3/8 driver to fit perfectly, but i did try my best to torque them down. We shall see if that fixed it. Thanks again for taking the time to respond!
@@robbiesz See, not that hard.
Bad idea. That is not to take slack out! Read the book
very well explained thank you
Interesting video. Thanks!
Excellent instructional video. Have never done my own brakes, but I didn't want to pay $198 to have the rear brakes replaced. thank you.
Not that hard. The more work you do on the car, the more confidence you get to do more repairs.
Thanks for your help ! Working on a Buick GS. Should be very similar.
Not that hard after you see someone do it.
Here i am experiencing on my 1970 chevelle. When i turn the key to run the engine nothing works. Only the first click is the gen light . Then i believe the oil light comes on the 2nd click. I took a test light to the 3 terminals on the fuse box #1 "Bat" /#2 "acc" & #3 "ign" all 3 terminals are dead with out electricity. I also took the plugs out of the ignition switch and the red wire is HOt. I dont get it. The only thing i am thinking is the column shifter is in a wrong spot.? I dont have the column shift lever attached just like in this video. I put a jumper wire in the plug that goes to the nutral safety switch so .. i don't think the position of the gear selector on the column makes a difference
Do you think the switch moved on the steering column
I just took it off to verify the "locked" position on the switch. The key was in the lock position but the switch was in the 1st postion not the 2nd position. I saw your video in detail but neglected to make sure the switch was in the 1st click on lock. For some reason i thought the switch would move to where the rod was position when i put the 2 small screws. I guess thats why the holes are slotted on the switch??? Anyhow i will know if that was it. when i replace the negative battery cable tomarrow. (Long story on that... i needed a cable on my daily driver) thank you for responding
@@erik9685did it work?
@@207shenanigans yes it did. Its all good. I should have done exactly what this video stated instead of just randomly installing the switch

Put a couple bolts in the crank shaft and use a small bar to turn it over.
I'm struggling to find anyone that knows anything about a GM/Cadillac headlining system where white nylon bows have T pieces that fit into a metal grid in the roof that has T slots? Mine is in a '78 Cadillac Seville. Do get in touch if you know this system. Paul

Thank you so much for the video!!! Working on a 64 Mercury Montclair Breezeway...dang shock was missing all of a sudden after 4000k after I purchased it. Car going through some vibrations.
Hard to say, not being there to feel and listen to the vibrations
@@davidlis6709 lol I'm not asking, I'm just saying all these vibrations have my car in shock. Pun intended.
I would have left the jack under there as well. 2 supports are always better than one!! Lower jack to land on the stand than apply a little lift to even to the stand now you have two supports! Much smarter way to work!! If that stand fails for any reason your in trouble!
Everyone does it a little different
