The Assyrians not only want their rights, they also want their own region and they deserve that as the indigenous people of Iraq ! Mesopotamia is the homeland of the Assyrians. The famous royal cities of the Assyrians, Ashur, Nimrud (Kalhu), Arbela, Dur-Sharrukin and Nineveh were built in it. The Assyrians ruled for approximately 1,300 years - from about 2000 B.C. to 612/10 BC - in northern Mesopotamia an ancient landscape between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. A clear reference to the existence of the Assyrians, on the other hand, can already be found in the Old Testament (1st Book of Moses 2:14). There it says: * “… the name of the third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates..."

Now I’ve heard it all. The woman from the US spoke toward the end of the video and she warned that the world without an engaging US would be a dangerous one. Never mind the fact that the US has left behind a trail of blood and destruction every where it has gone - Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Yugoslavia, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan and more. As we speak, its doing the same in Ukraine and Gaza. On top of that, the US has overtly and covertly fomented regime changes successfully or otherwise in countries around the globe. Give me a break. On the contrary to the hubristic and delusional statement from the woman, I believe the world has had enough of the destructions and chaos brought on by the US. The world will be in a better place if the US would just mind its own business and solve its own domestic problems - leave the world alone.

On the Palestinian-Israel issue: the first 4 speakers are so typical of the collective west, i.e. denial and denial. They are all afraid of speaking out against Israel on the facts - the atrocities Israel has committed against the Palestinian people for 70 yesrs. These people just beat around the bushes. The last two speakers are more honest and objective about the issue. Until the collective west has the moral courage to condemn Israel categorically, nothing will happen.

In Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes wrote '“In such a state, there is no place for industrious activity, because the fruit is not assured, and consequently, there is neither agriculture, nor navigation, nor use of the wealth which can be imported by sea; no convenient buildings; no devices capable of moving and removing.' The described state is the one that is politically unstable with conflicts. Which mean that it is peace that is the condition of food security. Hence the biblical metaphor of Leviathan as this which ensures stability. Maybe a sense is the other thing that matters for peace in South Sudan. Why have they fought to be free from the other Sudan, if after they have to kill each other's in a bloody civil conflict? What is the point of willing to be free from the others and fight for it for decades, if they can't be free themselves from themselves in order to prevent themselves to be a predator to each other?

Thank you from 🇺🇸 for this realistic overview. It sounds like our best case NPT outlook is Goal Zero 2050 (at a considerable stretch). Backtracking from Goal Zero 2050, one sane objective might be trilateral strategic stability talks aimed at 🇨🇳 + 🇷🇺 + 🇺🇸 stockpile parity below 1000 warheads in each country by 2030.
