I have an 02 3.8. I want this
@@bkookmarkspxcial no you don’t. The m112 is not a good setup
Dang I just did longtubes,coilpack,8.8 3.55 ,windstar upper manifold and put down 230 whp 270 at the crank on 93 with no tune yet and she runs A1
No you didn’t lol
my supercharged 3.8L V6 making 390whp 420 hp
Its a M90 superchsrguer?
Correct from a 94 thunderbird
What is the supercharguer?
what kits were u talking about @7:00??
I am referring to a supercharger kit in this configuration. There were originally two of these set ups in existence. The first one was a running kit that was used on a built engine with an M 90 magnum Powers blower designed for a Thunderbird. The person who made that original set up Sold the second one to me. His name was Marshall Crawford. I paid a good bit of money for it, but he sent me basically a bunch of scrap metal. It was unusable and not made correctly. I think ultimately he got tight on money, and basically used the money. I sent him for things other than making the kit correctly so he cut a bunch of corners. So many that by the time he was finished, it was not usable on the car. For that reason, I used the overall concept to make my own blower kit from scratch. The one that you see in the video is a heavy upgrade over the original design that Marshall made. I also made a few changes in order to have an overall better blower set up.
just checking in my dude hope youre good!
Yes sir. Just started filming again. Expect a video soon. The car is heavily under the knife with some serious parts getting thrown at it.
awesome brotha i just started working on mine again too. cant wait to see what ya got in store. @@mustangman3769
hey man would you happen to have a link or a source to possibly buy that adapter piece you have to run it like that?? im hoping to do a very similar build and do not know where to find one, if its not around i would also gladly pay you to make one if that was ever possible
There is no adapter to buy. There are four major pieces required that all have to be hand fabricated. I made all of this from scratch. I just don’t have the motivation to take my stuff apart and do all that. If I did it would run like 6k in labor for how involved it is. The entire kit took a full year to build for my personal car
@mustangman3769 oh yeah i get all that completely, regardless i am deeply invested in your build, when do you think youll start posting videos of it again? im really excited to see it driving
@@slammingbrutaldegeneracy2561 honestly I should probably start making them again. I’ve started working on it again. Right now have been getting a lot of parts coming in and getting powder coated. Would have a lot of good content on parts reviews
@mustangman3769 you definitely should, also i mean just for the piece you have bolted onto the bottom of the blower to run it through intercooler piping, how dud you make that?
thats a sick setup i never thought of mounting an m90 like that, however i see one downfall: having to remove the supercharger to do the spark plugs and wires ☠️
You actually dont have to remove the blower to do anything other than the valve cover gasket. There is a lot of extra room underneath to work. Spark plugs are a snap. You just approach it a little more from the front with your arm. very easy reach. The clearance between the blower and shock tower is tight but a lot of room underneath
@mustangman3769 oh hell yeah man, im kinda hoping to copy your setup with how you mounted it for hood clearance and i just love how the windstar intake manifold looks, you have the cleanest m90 3.8 build i have ever seen
I can't figure out how to connect my boost gauge
Just T it into the line going to the fuel pressure sensor. Basically the same for any car
I’ve been following your car for a while now man. Can we talk via email?
I am happy to chat via email. I will say I typically am more reluctant to go into depth on information on how I did stuff. I say this because I tend to get a lot of requests for information. And over the years I’ve seen that I will end up writing a novel for somebody and then it never gets put to use and end up wasting my time.
Terrible build.
Nice some nobody on the internet doesn’t like my car but could never build it. I’ll survive.
@@mustangman3769YOU ACTUALLY RESPONDED ❤ I love your car lol I have a 01 mustang that looks nowhere NOWHERE near as good. Everytime I try to get responses on the SN95 series I can't ever EVER get responses.. I do love the build the only thing I don't like is green 😂
@@mustangman3769but hey I'm building MY SN95 and have over 4k in reciepts so far. Definitely not a nobody and am probably a better mechanic than you are considering I don't rely on shops for tuning 😂😂😂 But anyways. I shouldn't let some nobody who wasted too much money on a V6 upset me 😔
5:33 hey man do u still got that thing? I’ll buy that plate off you, just not for 1000 dollars 😂
If you are talking about the m112 plate. As I have said in other comments, its not for sale. I do not condone running the m112 and will not further its existence. Run a turbo
Very cool 😎
Hey man love the videos have a 2000 mustang myself I would look into making a heat shield for the cold air intake these 3.8l run hot for no reason thought I'd help
Can anyone explain, what's horribly wrong with this build, or did you ever figure it out? These mods should at least be close to or breaking 250 +hp and torque I would think. A couple of things I saw right away were to get the intake in the fenderwell, and it sounds like exhaust is restricted or that leak.
1. the car did break 250hp. 2. The intake in the fender makes zero difference. Especially with no hood on it. 3. There was a slight exhaust tick but nothing that would cause any significant power loss. The thing thats horribly wrong is the concept of running an m112 with no intercooler. The entire concept of the v6 m112 is a bad design in general. Ive explained it in many other concepts. Thats why I refuse to give dimensions and such for people to make a plate. And I refuse to sell the one I have. I moved on the a remote mounted m90 which was a far better setup in every aspect. That kit has also proven to make 600hp on a built engine. Mine is one of two. I expect to run 400ish when I put the car back together. Currently converting to tube front
@mustangman3769 Thanks for the reply. For kicks next time you're at the dyno bring a correct piece of hose to extend filter to get air from outside fender, away from engine. Try it once, even with no hood. I think you'll be surprised. Following. Like to see what people can get out of a V6.✌️
@@terrytasler4835 Considering it had no hood, that would make zero difference. I also dont plan to because I no longer use the M112 kit. The entire concept is a bad design
never knew a super charger could be fitted on a 3.8, now i'm on an adventure. may need some tips later on with this one !?
never heard of a Thunderbird SC? Came out in 1989 with a Supercharged and intercooled 3.8L V6.
Go ahead and start uploading again.
I have some big plans hear coming up to include the car going full tube chassis. Ill be covering in depth with much better editing and overall quality. Currently on hold though as im trying to buy a house after getting married. Probably expect around january
those are the weakest dyno pulls i ever seen on youtube.. what is that like 3k rpm max
You could save yourself the breath anf just tell everyone youve never dyno'd a car XD
took you almost 10 years to make a little 270whp? wow youre a real deal mustang mechanic...
Man youre so cool. Coming from a kid with nothing to show for it. This kit took me a year to hand fabricate, not 10 years, and 270 isnt the final number. That was the first tune on half the boost i planned to run. Final number will be more like 400. Come back once you build a car from literal scratch. The only reason i havent made more videos is because the car was wrecked so I decided to go full tube chassis. But if you want to keep talking smack with nothing to back it up, go for it
Hey man. So I'm getting the same fuel cut at half throttle. What all did you do to fix it?
thats entirely too open ended of a question for me to give you a worthwhile answer. I dont know whats done to your car, what parts are in etc.
Would you sell a TB adapter plate?
To mount the throttle body to the windstar?Potentially
@@mustangman3769 yes.
@@danielwilliams214 I can but it wouldn’t be very cheap. Got to take current on off for measurements and get the metal etc. takes so shaping as well. Not just cutting out a shape. Like 200
Love it!
How hard was it to put a super charger on the v6
It’s no different from any other car. Same as doing it on a V8. This was only more difficult because I built everything from scratch. I didn’t buy a kit to install
What type of supercharger kit and where did you get it
Says in great detail in the videos
I’d love to chat more in depth about the issues you had with the M112. I have the blower and was about to start buying the parts for the kit, but now you’ve got me pretty hesitant.
Happy to
While there are a few options, for most cases I would recommend going turbo instead. Youll happier in the long run
@@mustangman3769 few questions for you: 1. How much power were you making? 2. Were you running a methanol injection? 3. You said it was a dangerous kit to run because you had to pay attention to what you were doing. - what did you have to pay so much attention to? Pressures, temps?
@@grahamharris5496 1. I left it low at 230ish (stock dyno numbers are 150 for reference) I chose to go another route before tuning for the max it was going to make. 2. Yes, I run a 2.5 gallon cell in the trunk. Meth is a bandaid. It has its uses but to be used in place of an intercooler just doesnt cut it. 3. Your main concern is air temps. If you run a lower boost level, it will take longer for air temps to creep up but at 10psi and above they will shoot up pretty fast. Meth is generally set to spray at 6psi and above but if you arent on it hard enough to trigger the meth, it will start to heat soak. Also, you have to tune for meth or you will lose major power. But if you run out of meth you are likely to blow up because it compensates for a portion of your fuel mixture. stuff like the heat soak not only can cause spark knock (detonation), but my main concern was the piston rings. If you stay heat soaked for too long, your piston rings can expand from the heat causing the ring gap to close. This will ultimately cause the cylinder to seize and blow the motor. You can combat this by running lower boost but at that point you going to way more trouble than its worth and giving too many train offs for the sake of running it in my opinion. Ultimately this kit can make power, but its very inconsistent power and demands a lot of attention to be safe. If you were dead set on running it, I would only recommend it on a car that you are strictly taking to the drag strip and letting cool down in between runs. But for a car that you want to take to the mountains and run for longer periods of time its terrible
@@mustangman3769 thank you! That was the meat and potatoes of what I was looking for!
I'm doing this but with a Eaton m62 off a Mercedes gonna be pretty cool. Might do it to my 03 honda Odyssey also
Who helped you with the m112 plate…? If you point me in the right direction. I’d love to know thanks
I got info from the original inventor. I dont recommend the setup so I do not pass that info on
If I may ask, why don't you recommend it; What makes it dangerous?
I love this. I have a v6 also
Thanks
if you ever are looking to sell please contact me first :).
Sorry man, I don’t ever plan on selling this car. I actually plan on making a video soon because it was ultimately wrecked. However the car is going full to chassis so not the end of the world. Anything that was wrecked is getting cut off anyways
i want to see much more of this can you maybe do a collab podcast with "NotAv8" or "Mustang V6 Tech Support"
That sounds like it would be pretty fun
That throttle body looks like a 1995 SR performance TB, but inverted from left to right. The throttle opening piece doesnt match the 5.0 of that era. Is this a custom TB? I've been going nuts trying to find something build to be used from that orientation that has a port for the IAC.
You are correct. That is an SR thottle body. It is not altered in any way. You may notice, there is a sandwich plate adapter between the intake and throttle body. I fabricated this spacer in only to make it fit properly. Overall, not super difficult or complicated.
As for clearance. I cannot verify fitment with the stock hood but a cobra r hood had plenty of room
I decided to do this but I've been wondering what to do with my test. What would you recommend?
I plan on running a m112 from a lightning, then upgrading later when I want more boost and see it runs on that
I dont recommend it. Same as running the one from a cobra
Would love to run that throttle body set that looks so clean and better compared to the other 2 ways. Did you make that plate yourself?
Yes
What lower intake did you use?
I made it
Jesus Christ. Never thought I would see this.
Hopefully that’s a good thing lol
@@mustangman3769 definitely, never expected a CZcams comeback 😅

For you buddy. Expect a video by monday
@@mustangman3769 lets go!🙌
@@mustangman3769 where’s the vid☹️
Did you need underdrive pulleys? And are the maf and CAI for a gt or v6? Is there a difference
Underdrive pulleys are required depending on what level of boost you want. The stock crankshaft pulley and blower pulley will make 15psi. The maf is from a ford lighting truck and the cai is made by me and pieced together
UPDATE : New video coming this week. Lots of cool stuff youll want to see.

i love the 232 badge, haha
I know this video is old. But I’m interested in your build and was thinking of doing this on my 3.8 2002. Are you still using this setup?
I have since changed the setup. Same motor, new boost setup. I dont really recommend it because its such a headache to run. You always have to be monitoring gauges carefully, does not fit under a hood. And there are just far better options. Its an unpopular opinion in the forums, but notice youll never see a good running car currently running it. If I were you I would look into a turbo. Youll get turn key power and more of it at that. Itll require some fabrication as with any setup including this one. But any decent shop can weld up some turbo pipes
@@mustangman3769 okay! Thank you!
@@maddiesamson8981 no problem
@@mustangman3769 are you going to make a video of the new setup? I understand life gets busy!
@@maddiesamson8981 Yes. Ive taken some video. Time consuming part is editing
Hello! From where did you buy it supercharger? I need for a 3.8 l
No you dont. Pick a better setup. Go turbo
@@mustangman3769 dam something happened
How much did the setup cost
Roughly 1200-1500 + tuning. About the same as building a good turbo kit. I would go turbo if you are considering
Are you gonna start the car or it doesn't run or what's up dude
The car runs. This setup has been removed and now I am using a new setup. Still a v6. Just has not been tuned for the new setup so not safe to drive yet. Just havent been in a hurry with covid and winter
When you installed the supercharger, it didn't change anything in the engine to support the power of the supercharger
Im not sure what youre trying to say. If youre asking, I did not change any engine internals. Stock internals are good for up to 420-450hp before you need to change anything
@@mustangman3769 Did you just put the supercharger on and that was it? how much did the supercharger kit cost you
@@Russo429 I built the mount for the supercharger to mount to the engine. All together the setup cost about 1500$ to do but thats if you can fabricate.
@@mustangman3769 I loved your Mustang, I want to do something like that to mine, I have a 2000 v6 Mustang and there are no modified cars like yours here, I'm from Mexico
@@Russo429 Personally I would not recommend this kit. I ended up taking it off and going a different route (still a v6). For you I would recommend going with a single turbo kit. You would have to build it, but it would be the most straight forward option with the least amount of fabrication needed and less headache.
Why waste money building a v6? A stock v8 could do what that thing is doing so a sc v8 would blast that thing. Just get a ls or something and stop being ghey
If you knew anything about working on cars, a GT would not "blast it". The internals between the gt and v6 are rated for the same amount of power, so either way, you can make about 450hp in either car and then you have to build the engine. I built this car because its more fun. I dont want to be like every other boring LS car on the road. There is nothing special about them. I also took this off to go with a different blower setup. Next is a barra xr6 swap. At the end of the day you arent qualified to give any advice. Come back once you post a video of a car you built and fabricated from the ground up instead of video about your boring ass oscar fish. "should have got a real fish" I got a piranha in my tank. You know... the LS of fish.
That’s what he wanted to do why you hating for ? I respect all builds
long shot but I doubt there’s gonna be a 4 year update
