New Hampshire Northcoast, 10-18-18
The New Hampshire Northcoast Railroad, owned by Boston Sand & Gravel, runs on 43 miles of the former Boston and Maine Conway Branch between Ossipee and Rollinsford, NH. Their primary purpose is to move sand from Ossipee Pit to Charlestown, MA. They also offer freight service to other customers along their line. In this video you will see the "gravel train" southbound approaching Wakefield Road in Sanbornville, NH with a good sized train in the last of the evening light.

Bay Colony 1705 makes a return to service on the Bay Colony Watuppa Branch. The train came back from New Bedford with four empties for Mid City Scrap in Westport.

New England Central train 608 is seen here battling Monson Hill on the Palmer Subdivision. The two aging GP38s still in the original NECR scheme were a treat to see together working hard fighting the grade. NECR 3857 was built in 1971 and 3850 in '69. Unfortunately I don't think these tired units will be around for much longer, so get them while you can!

Pan Am, Vermont Rail System and Central Maine & Quebec ran a joint Office Car Special around different parts of their railroads to give company executives a view of their system. This was the part of the equipment move returning to Waterville, ME from East Deerfield. I caught up with the train in Ayer and chased it to Tewksbury.

Mass Coastal GP9RM 2008 pulls this years Thanksgiving Present south over the Keolis/MCRR division point at BAY. The dome car is destined to join the rest of the Christmas Train set in Rochester. The caboose is returning for storage after spending time on the Framingham Secondary where it was used on ballast trains.
