We moved our family over 4000km across Canada in our little 16 foot travel trailer to New Brunswick, Canada to follow our homesteading dreams with our two dogs (Kali and Fen) and two cats (Rengar and Loki). We bought land with a dream to become more self-sufficient and develop a small scale regenerative farmstead.
Come along for the journey as we turn 52 acres of dense trees into gardens, orchards, and pasture.

Hi. I was wondering if you would put a wood burning stove in the house for the times you have power outages. You could dry out the trees you cut down for next winter .
Hi there, yes that is definitely on our list of wants for next year. We have been stacking all the logs we cut down from the garden area for firewood :)
Do you have a wood stove brand you would recommend?
@@ravenwillowfarmstead the CZcams channel the Vanwives are in a forest in in Nova Scotia and they love their wood stove not sure what make it is. Maybe have a look at their channel. They are also on a homestead.
You are blessed with that much property watching you walk through the woods reminds me of my youth hiking around the Phonecia NY area in my youth. A video of you clearing snow would be awesome.
Thank you! We are very blessed indeed. It took a lot of courage, hard work and planning as well. We didn't do to much snow clearing for the driveway as we have a local guy who does it for the area. But once we have our own equipment, absolutely!

What a fantastic place for your garden. I bet it's in the works now. We just put our's in last week. 8 different types of blueberries, 2 different types of tomatoes, cucumbers and 2 different types of potatoes. Hoping this year well will not have the monsoons and things will get a chance to grow. Happy gardening and the house colours are lovely.

I planted potatoes in cardboard boxes for a raised patch in NC. Utube has some videos of people planting in bales which is too expensive for me until I saw videos for cardboard boxes from Home Depot can't have print on them. Anyways no use tilling rocks if you don't have to.

They really do! Fenrir (the irish terrier) was so funny when we first arrived he thought he had to be on guard duty all the time, even just leaves blowing would startle him.

He is a pure bred Irish Terrier. But Fenrir does not look how the breed is supposed to when it comes to grooming and groomers typically wont do it, so he just gets shaved when his hair gets too long and curly. Thank you for the question!
Why didn't you build your porch as big as at brown spot on your trailer
It was the standard size the company provides with the house. We do have plans to extend the deck in the future though!

Why didn't you cut the wood up and save it for firewood. Don't waste it.
Exactly! We are saving all the wood for later use :) It is extremely useful for firewood, for woodchipping the brush for the garden beds and creating our own woodchip compost. Nothing will be wasted ;)

Yes very blessed to have found something that quick...we moved in within 10 days from securing the rental! It was slim pickings, the backup plan was a motel which we would have made it work too. Glad we found the cabin though!
