I'll tell a little story here. I was 10 y.o. Me and my homies played Gta san andreas and one of them said: "did you know that there is a man with a head of the pig on mountain chilliad?". I haven't even had a clue about It. He shown me cfox306 video about it and damn, I've started to investigate about what in a god damn world happening in san andreas. I came up with thing that I was scared to play gta sa. That was goddamn scary. Then I've played gta criminal russia, where developers added a lot of locations from manhunt. The main thing is when you die somewhere outside of the city a place of hospital was basically a pshysco hospital from manhunt (those part where you need to chase a rabbit). And goddamn it was such an unexpected when you respawn in horror place just playing gta in russia mod. But then I've found a corpse in bodybag WHICH HAD A WORKING ANIMATION. I Hit escape and couldn't do anything for something around 10 minutes, then I just left the game. I really was so impressed with just a parts of the game even without playing them that I've belived that there could be smth like piggsy in the shadows while I've been walking down the streets as a kid. Than ofc I found out that everything out of this game was from manhunt, I've played it smth 2y after and god I was shocked when final boss was piggsy. I really belived that it's something like test of my braveness (I didnt know that all this games were done by the same developers so yeah, you can get it i hope). And hell that was a real nightmare. I was hell happy to kill probably the biggest nightmare of my entire life Thats a small story how rockstar made a true horror for the 10 y.o. boy. I even can understand why this game was 18 or 21+ R.

This game needs a remake. I ended it when I was 9. Bittersweet experience.

My favorite part about Manhunt is how easily the power dynamics changes so quickly. For Cash, he has to deal with heavily trained and armed mercenaries, that regularly communicate and are one of the most ruthless groups of hunters in the game. While for the Cerberus, they have to deal with a killer lurking in the shadows, who one by one chips away at their numbers while taking out their cameras.

That one red chequered shirted Baby Face in the bathrooms that you have to kill just before the next section cements this game as the truly best horror media to ever come out

What makes this game tower above other horror games, is that it doesn’t matter what Cash did, each individual your killing is an active participant in this ongoing business, it’s the definition of kill or be killed, and the fact that this is taking place all the while the rest of the world carries on. Absolutely terrifying

I always liked how the soundtrack enhanced mood of the game, sort of in the background. But it’s also awesome to listen to it by itself and get completely lost in it. Brilliant nightmare ambience.

When I was a kid I usualy played GTA SA modification called "Criminal Russia". It has multiplayer and singleplayer version of typycal Russian landscapes with panel houses, fields, forests, villages and etc. And there were many scary places, with dead bodies, screams. Now I understand it is from Manhunt, but in childhood I didn't know about this game. And there was a big trade center called "Anashan" (parody of Ashan). So, when i first time get inside this trade center I was schocked! It was a location from manhunt (trade center), and it was SO FUCKING SCARY FOR MY CHILD MIND OH MY GOD!!!! Every corner, every floor contains so many dead bodies without head, or legs, or hands... I remember the dead person it toilet who made suicide with shotgun (a lot of blood on walls, and smashed head). From Anashan I get to another manhunt location, some streets with abandoned builing. It this builing there was videocameras and dead bodies without dicks... I WAS 8-9 YEARS OLD!!!! And then I heard scream. Not a usualy scream from some type of horror, when someone get scared, no. It was screams full of pain, of violence, I imagine fow many people have been cruelly killed there, and noone helped them. Even now it's uncomfortable to remember these moments!!!

It always creeps me out that enemies say weird things and make weird noises and piggsy creeps me out
