Leaving the Lodge || Heading for OUT-CAMP! || OFF-GRID ALASKA || FISHING GUIDES
Our arrival at Tikchik Narrows Lodge has been a whirlwind! We've got all of our Pre-Season Duties accomplished, and now we head to Out-camp! This will be Steve, and Tessa's first year running Tikchik's "Sunset Camp". We will be working along side our AWESOME friend Jace! We look forward to sharing our Summer adventures with you all!
Sunset Camp is completely off-grid, running only on generator, and collected Spring water. We are located hundreds of miles from civilization. Leaving Tikchik Lodge, it takes a 45 minute flight, and a 30 minute jet boat ride to reach Sunset. Tikchik Guests will come to experience "Glamping" in the bush, with world renowned fishing!
Steve and Jace are incredible Fishing Guides, and Tess is camp Hostess. Tess will be cooking meals, and tending to Guest's Cabins.
Thanks for watching!!!!

We have a ton of freight to haul, and no time to waste. Tikchik resides on a small peninsula. Every single item that is here, has been flown in at one point in time. Freight has to be barged from Seattle, or Anchorage, trucked 25...

It's a good thing your husband is a jack of all trades fixing all of that. As always be safe and God bless you
Hey child good buddy! Never could even imagine you off grid in Alaska 😊 it’s fun to see
So I’m really curious where the boats come from when you first land at Sunset 😅 Another amazing video. I am thoroughly enjoying being able to see the dream you always talked about back in high school. Absolutely amazing!
Would love to see a camp tour of all the buildings. Where is your tent? Any history of the old buildings that were by the tents? How did camp get its name? Also any cooking videos on what you serve guests and what you eat. Just some content ideas, we worked at lodges for many years.
We’re excited to share the details in our next video! How we get water, food, etc. see ya then 😊
Love it!! can't wait to see more camp videos! Have an awesome summer!
Was supposed to be in Brooks next week; had to cancel. This is about the best substitute I could imagine: gorgeous shots, seaplanes, and cool people. Thanks for the eye candy...and sharing the insane amount of work!
Well done!!
Your surroundings are absolutely stunning 😍
Your departure from the lodge and transition to out-camp in off-grid Alaska, focusing on fishing guides, is an adventure worth celebrating! Your dedication to exploring remote landscapes and sharing valuable insights is inspiring. And I am Floating Village Life, reveling in your wilderness journey.
Love the videos!!! Keep them coming!!
quickly becoming one of my absolute favorite CZcams channels. Your videography and storytelling skills are bar none!

So enjoying a completely different view of Alaska, your videos bring me along with you, ..looking forward to the beginning of a great season 😘
Inside compost toilets work great OR electric toilet- it will completely cremate the human waste to ashes.😊
Hey Guys, Here in the PNW, we glue Thick Styrofoam under our docks before putting them in the water. Just a thought for y’all on your next project. Cheers !
Hi guys, great drone shots. This video brings back a lot of great moments I had being a Winter remote lodge caretaker. Sometimes I would stay for the Summer and work. Thanks for the memories.
What an amazing place !
Seriously those drone shots, unbelievable! A CZcams vlog shot like a movie. I thought you guys were just building a little cabin, which I love, and then you start posting all this amazing content. Really impressive.
Hi! Thank you so much! We really appreciate your feedback. Thanks for sticking around since the cabin build, we’re bummed to put it on hold, but we will be back to finish it in the Fall.
That's a sweet camp. Will you be out there all season?
We will! The 3 of us! We’re happy to be here 😊

Had the privilege of working the 2008 season as groundskeeper, brings back a lot of memories.
Awesome video! I hope you VLOG throughout the season. Your series reminds me of one of my favorite books “The Alaska Chronicles “ by Miles Nolte
You're really using your head in this one, Steve. Proud of you guys and excited to come visit sometime!
Love the beer train! See ya soon!
Those two sources attacks your Kidneys.
You should close in the bottom to so that the floor stays warmer than being cold. To bad you did not put some foam insulation Nailed to the floor with plywood over the foam to hold it into place.
Wear Safety Glasses or you take the chance of loosing your eye!

Hi there! The website is Tikchiklodge.com
Man, love your content! I subscribe to a lot of Alaska channels but yours is such a different and unique perspective. dont get me wrong, they're all equally amazing but the fishing lodge perspective really rounds out the picture, Love it! keep up the great work
Thank you. We agree Alaska channels are super cool!
Love these videos keep up the good work.
You guys get paid for being out there how awesome is that lol.
Improvise adapt and overcome! Sounds like you're in the Marines
Looks like you guys are keeping busy out there and maybe a little fun also 😊
Hey guys, your video editing is getting sooo good. Great content, but also great videography, sound, camera, music, etc. This is what makes a channel blow up. Look at Luke with the Outdoor Boys. That guy knows how to make any video interesting. He has quick cuts, just the good stuff, and longer cuts when the content gets interesting. You guys are doing this too and I applaud you. Your channel just keeps getting better and better.... and you're also nice people. Wishing you guys great success!
Hey, thank you! We’re learning new tips and tricks every day. Your kind words are much appreciated!!
In my 30 years of being a Winter caretaker, I never had to deal with big chunks of ice like that, just lucky I guess. We all did the work when they came out to open the lodges and only one lodge didn't have floatplanes. Opening day is a big deal for sure. Nice first fish of the season.
Hi John, yep..the ice is a pain, but the memories and adventures are totally worth it! We’re glad that you get to live your lodge days once again through our videos.
About 12 years ago, I was at a seasonal fishing village south of Prince Rupert, B.C., wheres theres no running water & outhouses. I had to use the outhouse about 3 am, it took me a while to work up a nerve to go outside where the bears & wolves are 😮. One year, David Suzuki & his film crew were there, shooting a Documentary for the tv show, called The Nature of Things. My sister & her daughter got on the show, while I was out on the huge fishing boat with the guys catching halibut. What an awesome experience. I'm new to your youtube channel, saying Hi, from London, Ontario
❤ Wow so very beautiful
Beautifull camp it just dosent seem like work I bet
For two young people you are doing fantastic 😊
thank you Steven...hey Tess
Hi Rusty ❤️
Great to see such a detailed exploration.
Will you be vlogging while you’re there over the summer? It will be interesting to watch
That's the goal!
