INFJ and ENTP Discuss Typology, Topology, Quantum Physics and Metaphysics
John Barnes (ENTP) and Michael Pierce (INFJ) sit in the woods and discuss ideas at the intersection of Jungian typology, Aristotelian formal topology, and concepts in quantum physics. It was a jolly good time! ( @johnschultzbarnes3196 )

Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 11 - Prologue 1.3, Of Stars, Beasts and Honeybees
zhlédnutí 388Před 4 měsíci
This is the third lecture of my commentary series on Nietzsche's masterpiece Thus Spake Zarathustra. I am commentating on the text of section one from the Prologue. I get a bit further this time, diving into Zarathustra's speech to the sun. Playlist: czcams.com/play/PL6rzdODmcL677sl9LWnjPWD79qu69l9xR.html&si=CI9i8Hdq-ClDovi8
Against Antirealism in Quantum Mechanics (my Philosophy Master's thesis)
zhlédnutí 1,5KPřed 4 měsíci
I gave my successful defense of this paper on Wednesday. I thought I would share it with y'all. ABSTRACT: Should one be an antirealist about quantum mechanics? This was the fundamental philosophical disagreement between the two giants of twentieth-century physics: Niels Bohr the antirealist and Albert Einstein the realist. The prevailing orthodoxy in the physics community still favors Bohr and ...
Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 10 - Prologue 1.2, The Sun's Circle
zhlédnutí 184Před 4 měsíci
This is the shortest of the Nietzsche videos I've made so far. It's been a very busy week for me! We are still on the Prologue, section 1. In this episode, I discuss the symbolic relationship between Zarathustra and the Sun, as well as some notes about Eternal Recurrence, circles vs. lines, and eternity. Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 9 - Prologue 1.1, On Solitude & the Sick Animal
zhlédnutí 338Před 4 měsíci
This is the first of my Nietzsche's Zarathustra series that actually gets into direct commentary on the text of Thus Spake Zarathustra. I cover approximately two lines of the Prologue. Lol. I don't expect this slow pace to be the norm, but I had a lot to say right off the bat. Series Playlist: czcams.com/play/PL6rzdODmcL677sl9LWnjPWD79qu69l9xR.html&si=CI9i8Hdq-ClDovi8
Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 8 - A Secret of the Book
zhlédnutí 276Před 4 měsíci
Last week, I gave an overview of the plot of Nietzsche's masterpiece, Thus Spake Zarathustra. This week, before delving into a more detailed commentary, I want to present an unconventional theory I have about the true meaning of Eternal Recurrence as it relates to the Ubermensch as a true Creator. After all, how can there be any creators if all of history recurs eternally? How can anything new ...
Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 7 - What is the Plot?
zhlédnutí 2,2KPřed 5 měsíci
In this video, I finally give a plot synopsis of Friedrich Nietzsche's masterpiece, Thus Spake Zarathustra, with some preliminary commentary. I think the next few videos will be about the plot and themes of the work, taken as a whole. After that, I will begin working my way along, chapter by chapter, as necessary. Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 6 - Orders of Rank
zhlédnutí 447Před 5 měsíci
I got it out this week after all! Though a day later than I'd like. This is the last of the introductory lectures on Nietzsche, before I get into "Thus Spake Zarathustra" itself. It is a bit of a miscellany, but the throughline is Nietzsche's controversial concept of an "order of rank" among human beings, as well as his conception of "slavery" and slave morality. Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 5 - Pity versus Gratitude

In this video, I begin tackling Nietzsche's controversial stance on "Mitleid" or "pity", as well as elements of his equally controversial aristocratism. Also, the nature footage at the beginning is fully intentional. I did that on a whim of inspiration I can't articulate why I think it is important to begin this video with that, but I know I needed to. The lecture itself starts at 4:00. This wa...
Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 4 - Dionysos the Crucified
zhlédnutí 541Před 5 měsíci
This lecture discusses Friedrich Nietzsche's ideas regarding the ancient Greek god Dionysos (often spelled "Dionysus"), and argues that Dionysos bears a deep underlying resemblance to Christ, as a dying and resurrecting god. This naturally leads me into some theological and philosophical reflections on major ideas in Nietzsche's thought. Next week will be, I think, the last in these prefatory v...
Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 3 - Nietzsche and "Christianity"
zhlédnutí 522Před 6 měsíci
Before finally getting into Thus Spake Zarathustra, I feel the need to shed some light on Friedrich Nietzsche's complex relationship with Christianity. Some principal claims in this video are, (1) that Nietzsche does not attack the doctrines of Christianity, but rather its sociological effects and the tendencies of its believers; (2) The title of his book "The Antichrist" is a double entendre: ...
Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 2 - Health and Morality
zhlédnutí 484Před 6 měsíci
This is the second recording in my commentary series on Nietzsche's masterpiece "Thus Spake Zarathustra". This is still introductory material. The script originally grew out of answering the question of why Nietzsche chose "Zarathustra" as a character, but that quickly branched into other topics. So this episode is a rather eclectic. Next week (hopefully) I will have completed a more focused le...

There is a one to one translation between MBTI and Socionics based on differing definitions of functions, e.g. Socionics Se = MBTI Ni + Te, which when taken into consideration leads to the following direct translation between the systems: ILE -> ENTP SEI -> INFP ESE -> ENFP LII -> ISTJ EIE -> ESFJ LSI -> ENTJ SLE -> INTJ IEI -> ISFP SEE -> ESTJ ILI -> INTP LIE -> ESFP ESI -> INFJ LSE -> ESTP EII -> ISFJ IEE -> ENFJ SLI -> ISTP If you are any one of the types on the left in Socionics, you can only be the type on the right in MBTI. No exceptions.
Too jumbled . Did not see 16 types of INFJ's but a lot of TALK as if READING from a SCRIPT and not to people , As if this is a JUMP on to MONEY, or Get "LIKES" form everyone who click into your Pod Cast
You misspelt 'sewing'
Honestly never felt more seen by a video than this, thanks Mr Pierce for your work
What's important to keep in mind about abstract conceptual systems such as personality typologies (like Socionics) is that, while they can certainly be fun and interesting, are merely made-up constructs to give us a way of perceiving an inconceivably neuanced phenomena in the real world (like human personality) and a means of communicating it. If it's helpful; great! But it isn't and could never be the absolute. In other words: Don't mistake the map for the territory.
lovely and deeply interesting conversation. really enjoyed the talk!
9:41 - great example

Thank you, algorithm, for bringing up this old gem. I see too many AI-and text-to-speech style informative videos these days; you can really hear the spirit of the narrator in this one
I'm going to risk being a living cliche and say that I actually feel so severely horrifyingly understood by this video.
I wouldn't say INTJs are more materialistic and less metaphysical than INTPs. Se inferior compared to Si child is less materialistic. Ni dom compared to Ti dom is more metaphysical. INTJs are more pragmatic in the outer world immediately WITH their knowledge whereas INTP are less pragmatic immediately WITH their knowledge. I would not equate immediate pragmatism with materialism nor delayed pragmatism with 'being metaphysical.' The knowledge itself is likely going to be metaphysical.
What is the kindred relationship for INTj /intp
1:09 so true. though written as sarcasm, that is what the S means
you talk like the dog in tom and jerry
Carl Jung was INTJ. Not INFJ. INTJ is the most intelligent type.
Yeah, I'm definitely ISFP. I hear you talk about Si and my brain contorts it trying to understand it like I sometimes can't comprehend how people see things through impressions other than literally what's in front of you. Like I can have memories and experiences that get reminded when I see certain things in the present, but this is like not that deep, it's occasional. I more often than not just see things through Se's scope all the time.
"Nature is not mute ; it is Man who is deaf." ™
You two are the GOATs of cognitive functions and Jungian typology, looking forward to whatever you guys will co-produce! Greetings from a fan from Greece!
Enlightenment ; unpacking the Self for light travel 🥸💫👈🏻
Thank you for stripping away the overly complimentary extreme of many characterizations of this type. I do believe that I am an INFJ, but it has been hard for me to accept as there are too many descriptions out there that seem to pander to a sort of spiritual superiority image of the INFJ. People often forget that Hitler was also an INFJ. INFJ's are more complex and just as capable of being flawed as any other type.
É uma pena, Intps não existem
Can you do this scenario but with a bed instead of an apricot?
While listening, I had a sudden moment of self-irony, an epiphany of self-awareness. The conversation surpassed my own attentional threshold for abstract digression leading me to comical reflection and empathization. Interesting and typologically useful to watch you guys converse near the limit of your abstractions. Thanks.
Do you ever plan on interacting with twfp?
It's untrue that INFPs are dreamers, idealists and incapable of pragmatism They can be extremely pragmatic and down to earth as required by daily life, without sacrificing their inner world and values. ENFPs (like INFJs) are frequently far more fantastical, crazy, utopian. Nor do INFPS alway love people. They tend to rather dislike humanity while loving individuals. The opposite of XNFJs who tend to love humanity but dislike individuals.
You promote treason.
Martin Luther and Carl Marx destroyed society.
None of these intj examples are inspiring. I cant stand any of them, except Telsa.
algo me diz q o istp comeu o jimmy ainda sendo humano
As an INFJ, I've come to the conclusion that people suck.
❤
I view consciousness as something that by design is meant for integration , and specifically the choice made pre-birth to not see objective reality has to do with the desire for source itself to integrate through the individual. You consciousness is not separate from collective consciousness, it is just part of it , but the individual views themselves as separate
ESTP here. Loves it, but have to write all down in order to start memorising. Even understanding at times. English not being my native language made me think this was the reason not getting the stuff at once. Well. Half written down. Getting exhausted at these long, circomvulated sentences. Happily enriching my vocabulary, though. Next step: rewriting all in summarised bulllet points to go to the points. 11:01 "ESTP has little patience for roundabout reasoning and with fact spewing over the tentative introductions of anything that clearly could cut to the chase but isn't gor some reason". WTF 😳😵💫 😁
You guys think?!
As an INFJ I really enjoy being around ISFJ's. They are amazing. And deserve much more respect.
Soooo... Michael Pierce is gay
As an INFJ: you experience a raging emotional outburst while writing; literally raging with anger; yelling at the screen, and typing so fast that a typo appears in every single word -- and then -- you come back to it later with tranquil-like calmness, and are like: "yeah, I think that gets the point across."
Don’t forget Bono!❤
God damn it this was painful to get through 😢
as an Se inferior this tickles my brain in both the satisfying way as well as the agitating way

I am curious what type do you guys think Jonathan Pageau is.
ENTP or ENFP i think. What do you think?
@@johnschultzbarnes3196 I think he is an enfp. In Ops (objective personality) he would be a more introvert enfp in my opinion so that might translate to infp in other systems or entp in some since he has more reflective energy. Just to add, I really like your guys thoughts at the end with quadras style with the hierarchy gamma, duality beta, pentagram delta, quadrant alpha sort of deal.

There, that tone... that note" ( for examole in music) ... were does it come froma and how does it come to you ... or better yet: Where is it, where it originates? Isn it the same "thing". What if we shift to thoughts and conversation?
I was watching a Bobby Fischer chess game, I realized he looks so much like you Michael! He is typed as an INFJ too. Seems accurate. John is an INTP btw. Being talkative or not has nothing to do here. ENTP is a right wing type. INFJ and INTP are egalitarian, humanitarian, and sensitive to other ppl's wellbeing.
I assume you don’t know any ENTPs very well/on a personal level…
@@justme4579 don't care one bit about you making wrong assumptions. Keep em to yourself.
@@AminVassefi I figured your assumptions deserved my assumptions. I guess I was confused about whether assumptions should be shared or not after I read yours..
@@justme4579 assumptions are used to prove something. Yours was an assumption, mine wasn't, know the difference.
@@AminVassefi assumptions are statements made without proof, which is what you did by making a claim based on subjective generalizations- with no proof :)
I'm late to the party, but... NE is pinging ideas to SI both their own and others to build up an undertanding of reality. SE is pinging to reality to formulate ideas.
