problem solverz looks like an nft cartoon to me

Since you used clips for all three of the Hoagie detective eps of KND, there’s something interesting about one of them I’d like to point out. Operation CRIME (the one where Kuki ends up taking the detective role) actually first started out as a comic from Cartoon Network Block Party. It has a slightly different story but the kid who is featured in both versions (assuming it’s the same kid, it’s been a while since I’ve looked at either version) is featured in another comic this time in Cartoon Network Action Pack.

One that definitely comes to mind is Garfield Babes and Bullets! AniMat ranked that as the 1# classic Garfield special of the Lorenzo Music era and for very good reason! 🙂

oh yeah, you absolutely bodied w/ this video idea lol bmo noire is one of my favorites too, so going for root beer guy felt like a 180 but im not complaining its easy to forget how characteristically detailed some of the 'townie' episodes got. i didnt even remember this one during my rewatch, you easily convinced me to give it a second look

idk why, i could never watch the show because the way human's eues are drawn to be HUGE BULGING ORBS creeps me out. smiling friends is in the area of "oh thats a cartoon" even though i know problem solverz should be, it will instead sot with big mouth in the never watch shelf

I have photosensitivity so Problem Solvers is actively dangerous to look at for any length of time. I had to look away from the video and just listen as background noise in order to get through it, and that seems to be a running complaint about the show. It's one thing to be loud and colourful, but most of the other cartoons around that time - even shows on Adult Swim that were known for it - were also loud and colourful without being an eyesore.

I forgot how many cartoons had noir episodes lol. Idk if you’ve seen Amphibia but their noir episode was my favorite

Adventure Time is GOATed and the Root Beer Guy episode is legendary! It reveals a lot through the actions of an "average" citizen of the Candy Kingdom. And, that's greatly in keeping with the noir style. It's often a vehicle for an "every man" to be integral in an extraordinary story.

You really cooked with this one. The only thing I know about noir is that one character in BoJack who keeps saying "we aren't making Casablanca" and I laugh every time despite knowing little to nothing about noir. Personally, I love the detective my little pony episodes that come across as noir. They where my favorites as... I would like to say as a kid but I still like my little pony so I guess they are my favorites. Honorable mention to that one recent always sunny in Philadelphia episode that is film noir inspired because it's one of the only good recent episodes. lol. Great vid.

There’s a thing in art called “appeal”.

Smiling Friends is different because it's always had a foot in the absurd and the mundane. For every "OOGALLY GOO" ending of the show where it's the characters yelling over each other and madness ensuing, there's a "Renaissance Men" ending where they had one of the most realistic discussions you'd ever hear in a cartoon. Problem Solverz is just insanity with no realism.

I love the title, thumbnail, and general message of this whole video. I really do think The Problem Solverz never got the chance it deserved.

I dislike pretty much everything about this show. The art, the voices, the music, and the jokes all annoy me. That being said, I never even heard of it until now and it's too bad it didn't succeed.

The characters are so fucking ugly. I can never get behind ugly characters. Show was gross and im glad it was short lived

Finally, somebody else noticed how similar Problem Solverz was to Smiling Friends.

After going back and watching some of the episodes, there are parts that are salvageable, and when the background aren't eyebleeding neon, they can look pretty good... the elevator racing part is good... but it's just the voice filters/acting of the main two characters besides the normal guy that gets a little grating. I think what made this show look worse was it premiering on CRTs which were still very common in 2011, it's what I saw it on. That made the colors bleed together even MORE with a fuzzier picture. And man, I think every episode has extended fart jokes.

At least smiling friends doesn't feel the need to ambush my eyes with 80 colors every 15 seconds.

I was literally having this thought too. I just started watching smiling friends and I thought why was there so much hate for The problem solverz but smiling friends is literally the same as the show???

I never watched this as a kid; every time it aired I was so grossed out that I changed to Disney channel Between this show that no one cares about and gravity falls of course I was going to choose gravity falls
