For the heel flat & gusset, have you tried the method for hiding the decreases under the foot? I've never tried it myself but I want to.

I just finished the front of the Stella quilt cushion. I’m making it for my mom who’s a quilter. It’s such a fun pattern! I feel the same about the sock heels- don’t like knitting heel flap & gussets. I use the fish lips kiss heel (have it memorized) and use the mini gusset from the free friendship sock pattern and it’s a perfect fit and I font get that stretch on the gusset that you showed. I don’t even do as big a mini gusset as in the friendship pattern and it still fits great.

I tried to learn to knit twice, ten years apart, and gave up both times. On my third try, during the pandemic, I was taught continental style by someone online, and if it weren't for that I would have given up again. Continental completely rules, along with the Norwegian purl.

I love that so much how you said that these people that I live with now won’t be here forever that was so profound I think and definitely something I think all us parents and guardians with littles need to remember especially when our littles kind of drives us nuts 😅 so thank you for that that was a wonderful reminder for me today! Aloha! I just purchased your Stella Quilt Cushion pattern and your channel popped up on my feed! So excited to start knitting this - I've been looking for a pillow pattern for my insert for about 3yrs! But I have a question - Motif 2 - is DK weight correct?? I only use plant based yarns so I'm hoping I can find something that will work. :)

Just wanted to say how much I love your podcast. I found you while trying other podcasts to watch while knitting. Currently knitting for two new babies due end of July2024. I watched 1 of the new ones lived it so went right back to number 1. Love it your my companion while I sit and knit on my own hubby and kids at work so peace to watch you and knit. Hi Laura! I always love when a new episode of your podcast pops up, you're truly one of my favourites😍 It's good to hear that your fitness and exercise brings you as much joy as your knitting does! I've always hated exercising because of the way it made me feel - bad, powerless and basically a failure - but a couple of weeks ago, I started doing something I said I would have never done... I started running!! And guess what, I LOVE IT! It's not about speed or distance, it's just about going outside, surrounded by nature and moving my body in a way that feels good (no additional purpose or goal attached to it, which is fantastic!) It truly does wonders for my mental health 🥳🥳

Hi Laura, as a tip for your socks, you can try using the technique from german short rows at the edges, as a way of slipping stitches and getting a really pretty and neat edge. I'm really looking forward to the pattern getting made, it'll be a joy to knit and wear❤

Oh I love Plumpy! It’s my favorite shawl for cold winters. So maybe the yarn is wrong, but definitely knit it up if you can with something else! It’s an amazing shawl! I agree the contrast isn’t good enough. I’m sure whatever you’ll make with the handspun will be lovely, and I do hope you’ll make a Plumpy someday ❤

I've yet to see hand spun yarn that doesn't look muddy, I don't see myself getting into spinning for that reason. It's a shame because it seems like a very meditative hobby.

That crochet stitch that's "kind of like a moss stitch" actually is a moss stitch! I'd never made the connection of how the crocheted moss stitch and the knitted moss stitch are similar before you pointed it out 😂

A lovely podcast as usual Laura! I have a suggestion for what to do with your yarn scraps! I bought clear round ornaments (plastic) last year and stuffed the scrap bits inside. I chose to make one with all the purple ends from my Lento sweater so I have a Christmas ornament commemorating that project that I absolutely loved 💜
