Already started looking into doing a half marathon with a 20kg vest thanks to you. (I'm not as strong as you).
Mate mega challenge! 💪🏻 Good luck with it man!
his is amazing! your video came up on my feed, perhaps as i myself do fitness challenges (nothing as insane as this!) and I was intrigued. good luck with it!
Where is your standing platform from? It’s amazing!
And what an event it’s going to be!!
Lol dude's posting his Ls. Maybe start with basic zero drop then make the transition. I am now running 3-5 miles in barefoot shoes and besides my feet and calves being a bit more sore, my overall knee and leg health has drastically increased. It requires dedication and time. 3 attempts tepls me ya quit as soon as you were uncomfortable 🤷. Dont make life changes just to follow trends.
got bored of squats & deadlifts, starting doing these they feel amazing
Vibram toe shoes were proven to be a scam. Bad example
Im excited for what lies ahead mate!!!
Was Cyprus a business decision or something else? I reckon Spain can offer everything and more Cyprus can.
Your restart is more drastic than mine: I just switched from East Anglia (Cambridge) to the West Midlands (Birmingham) 😅 I'm a few years ahead of you (I'm 41) and I can tell with certainty the mf mid-life crisis will stretch on for years. And when you fix one thing, something else gets broken. But no matter what, you should never give up. It's such a cliche but profoundly true.
Good luck!
Don't worry, I'm 43, flat broke, separated and trying to train while parenting part time and dealing with an alcohol dependence that has built up over the years i was unhappily married. So you're not alone.
This is important and powerful stuff Jim. Honesty is power. Strong mate. Hoofin
Good luck bro
Appreciate the honesty and transparency bro. Im 35 and just left a job of 10 years, went through a horrible breakup, and dont have any idea where my life is headed. So to be honest, its good to know its not jst me.
Good luck with it all Royal!
Good luck brother
Respect for putting out there exactly how you’re feeling. I’m mid 40s and starting again with job, training and purpose. Will be keen to follow this journey - best of luck! 👍🏻
🔥 'sometimes maintenance is a win'
Love it brother
Wishing you every success and fortitude on your journey, man! I moved home, job, lifestyle and took a risk at 42! Still not sure whether it's paying off - but loving the journey. Wishing you all the best! 🎉
Cyprus is a very friendly place, drive around the countryside and meet the locals they will insist you come in for coffee which often turns into full on lunch. And the sunshine's not bad either. 👍
You don’t know how to transition that’s why.
Trainers 🤦🏽♂️
Jim, I'm training for the Commando tests. I'm in the RMR.
NATO= No Action Talk Only 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
loving the high qual vids. Keep em coming!!!
All this prep, all this research you put in, all the work to do the trek and everyone that makes a video on this part of SAS training still calling in Pen y 'Fan' with an F sound... the F is a V sound - has been this way in Wales for thousands of years. It's like going to Norwich and saying NorWich with a W sound or going to Reading and calling it REEding.. The name for this mountain has been used for centuries now. Please learn to say it correctly.
Sad munter the Y is an A you should mention that too but something tell me you don't no welsh
NOBULL $$$$$
How to balance running and weights: run on one day, weight the next day. Outstanding insights Dunno what I was thinking doing deadlifts every km
mmm easy in training shoes and not been beasted for 4 days prior. cutoff is 4 hours , normal Bergan weight is heavier than your vest !
It’s likely because your mechanics are garbage and all that stretching is making it worse, not inherently the barefoot shoes.
Don’t tell me what to do, you British
Stupid argument ever
I have seen a few of sheps videos and I’m sure he could have gone quicker than that. The other bloke wearing trainers as well. I’m not blowing my own trumpet but I’ve done this event twice in summer 2015 and winter 2016 in 3.28 and 3.30hrs. I came 6th both times and I was 40yrs old at the time. For ex boot necks your time is shite. Sort your cardio and endurance out lads 👊👊 I expect the navigation slowed you down a bit though?
Oh my gosh. That means they're working. It means your legs and feet are getting stronger. You were also likely doing TMTS (Too Much Too Soon). Your feet, calves, knee, groin, and quads WILL hurt a little for the first 2-3 months of baregoot training because your body is resetting and you are using new muscle groups you've never used before. Be patient with the process and let your body develop strength; and you'll never have to deal with such pain again. Get strong.
Hey! I actually have dilema about this. I am preping and just want to be in an awesome shape for military and i really want to stick to one programm but here is my dilemma. Crossfit workouts like HWPO programming from mat frazer are amazing they have a lot of strenght pieces and besides that metcons and conditioning are preatty tough if you do them right. But i have been bouncing if i should stick to that programming or should i go more on the route of mission specific which involves 3-4 times a week pure strenght training with simple methods like 5/3/1 and maxing out pull ups push ups etc and for conditioning running and rucking a lot. This concept is probably preatty good for military but crossfit like HWPO from mat frazer on the other side is preatty challenging to and can get you in really really good shape. I just want to know your opinion thank you
Running now problem - just not on tarmac
For how long do you try? When I converted it took my legs about a week to fully acclimate. Clickbait?
Sounds like ur feet were weak
No issues here, back pain dissipated greatly, my hair is healthier, posture is better.
Value on the reg! Stay strong, stay healthy, stay awesome!!!
I watched sniper for 2.5 hours , and didn't see a thing!
Na this dude....nah mate
I think its individual for everyone. Some people just cant make it work and that is okay. I often ran with pain in my knees, hip or even lower back in normal shoes. Than I started running in barefeet shoes and after 1,5 year adjustment time and one injury on my achilles I havent looked back and all my pain is gone when running. I think my adjustment time was a bit shorter because I have a pretty low BMI and whenever I started running I did very little and careful and even now, 5+ years on have runs where I am only concentrating on technique.
Love the message behind this and thank you for sharing brother. Dont underestimate how much some of us needed to hear this today. Thank you
Screw the freedom pal. It’s sad. Rather people care for fellow people than to enjoy their own bubble. That’s not selfless live for others I believe anyways..? Great points though 👍🏽
Thank you
man love your stuff man. super high quality videos, keep em coming!
