I totally agree, especially after last night, as an Avs fan felt a little bit like deja vu, win game 1 in OT and then drop the next 2 games. Especially with how good Dallas is on the road, they have the complete upper hand on this series. So, like you said I think they'll close it out in Edmonton in 6 as well. The meltdown they had last night was also not a good sign for them as well

I agree, if the Panthers come out tonight tighter on defense and focus on capitalizing on those opportunities like New York has, this easily is a 7 game series. Very even series but the Rangers are just so dangerous on finishing those chances that gives them that upper hand

Let's face it. He's not big nor super fast. It's up to his teammates to create space for him. He shines during games when the opposition breaks down because of desperation. We may just see such breakdowns with Florida tonight. I expect an onslaught tonight by the Rangers. They've handled everything the Cats have thrown at them, and it must be frustrating for them. Unless Tkachuk gets rolling (my biggest fear), then Florida is doomed. He's the guy that can dominate a game. Back to the Breadman. Remember, he's the guy that gets you to the playoffs each year. Bednar likes to go between a 1-3-1 or the 2-3 depending of the offense from what I saw this season. Which is a double edged sword, sometimes he makes that adjustment at the wrong time which he did between Dallas and the jets. In round one did the 2-3 set up and moved to the 1-3-1 with Dallas which i think was a bad call since the 2-3 would provide a larger "wall" between the deep Dallas offense and the offensive zone. I agree with that too though, I think Bednar is good at giving it to them in the locker room, but like you said he doesn't bench anyone which is a problem. But, I think that came from desperation in the Stars series given LOC and Nichushkin where both gone

Boys have a lot of video to watch this summer and they better come up with a new magic trick, I just think the team have sortta figured out the Avs in a way. Years back we had that identity of a high scoring blueline. Now we have one guy who can score. One who can play defense and the others just turn pucks over. Manson was pretty bad at times. Walker don't even get me started. Yea he can score but he's a D not a winger. Sammy was ok I think we might come down on him a little hard. But the rest of them JJ is old. Id like to see Cale Toews then after that some actually defensive D that can move the puck out of the zone. More physical. We didn't have an answer to that Benn hit on Toews, I felt like after that hit the series was over no matter where we were at. No one did shit, sure mason took some runs but man... Dump that bitch and then light his ass up every shift hit him to kill him. I didn't see any of that. Ross tries, Wood coulda hit more. IDK I expected these guys to be more physical idk what that was about.

@@feinded yeah, Mitts hurt his hip early in the game and tried to play through it but clearly wasn't close to 100%. Avs depth just wasn't there, Drouin comes back which should have pushed Parise to the 3rd line then the Val incident negated that. LOC's injury earlier in the year was huge too.

Dallas young talent is so much better than the Avs. The Avs have missed on any pick outside of the top 5 for about 20 years.

I'd like to address the narrative that the Stars are getting "older".....While they were the 7th oldest on opening day, but you know who was 8th, the Avs, by half a year 28.7 to 29.2. Then the Stars during the season added Tanev and Stankhoven, ages 34 and 22, which averages out to 28, dropping our overall average age. Now probably not half a year, but I think you're getting my point here. Every great team has a mix of youth and veteran leadership, Stars and Avs are no different. I'll finish by saying I really like our core of young guys: Hintz 27, Oettinger 25, Robertson 24, Heiskanen 24, Harley 22, Wyatt Johnston 21, Stankhoven 21.

I agree, from the opening puck drop of the series the Avs just look pathetic the entire series compared to how they looked on that I think it was 9 game win-streak in February.

They scored 2 power play goals not entirely his fault. He stood on his head game 6 when it mattered most.

I genuinely appreciate that, I try my best to keep it interesting and avoid bias, and of course want to be a million times better than the jokes on ESPN and TNT. Messier and Bissonnette I don't mind, but the others have just been awful since Doc retired, and the guys on NBC that replaced him that went to ESPN with the move. Totally agree. This is a fair, informed passionate fan giving his thoughts in a fair, objective manner. Have to say, Avs in general seem totally chill. I checked out the Avs SBNation site after the loss and they were very even-keeled and not blaming the refs, dismissing the Stars, etc like most fan bases. It was the same in 2020 when the Avs lost in a game 7 OT(when they were the better team IMO). Something about the Colorado air or the potent herb out there that makes fans chill. Gave a like and subscribed.

I agree to all of that, especially the Duchene goal. I'll never forget hearing what he said when he wanted a trade. But, with Landy I do agree, him and Mac I have loved since they where drafted, which makes it hard to say Landy might need to hang them up. While I hope he comes back, if he can't even return to a fraction of how he used to be he'll just be a piece of the team that holds them back. Which hurts to say but like you said, our top guys are in their prime and that window is short. It's go time from here on out to get back to the SCF, can't let Val and maybe landy hold this team back. As for Girard and Manson I agree, I think getting Mason out would be the best choice, Girard just has off nights, while those off nights are bad they aren't close to Manson's, plus Girard doesn't take dumb penalties like him. While it'd be nice to get an upgrade for them both, it would be a stretch

I totally agree, it was insane to watch. From watching Mac just dance around defense all season long and then in the first round, to just being consistently stopped and covered was crazy to watch. Has me scared for whoever comes out of the East, having that deep defensive depth and Oettinger in net has Dallas as an actual threat to win the cup, and that's not even including their deep offense.

Tanev made Dallas a true Cup contender. That signing didn't get nearly enough attention from the "experts".

I agree, getting rid of Nichushkin clearly ended being a smart choice, while he was a lot of help in 2022 he has been a complete liability. While I do hope he gets the treatment he deserves and don't fault him for whatever is going on, he does need to step away from hockey and focus on himself. But I do agree, I think Dallas might have a slightly quiet offseason compared to the others focused on keeping Tanev and Duchene, probably replacing Pavelski's presence in the free agent market. But, their cap management has been incredible so there is a good chance they will just get more depth
