Potbelly Stove Restoration
zhlédnutí 1,4MPřed 4 měsíci
This stove was found in a passed relative's garage. When I saw it I instantly new if would be a great restoration video. I didn't realize how badly the cast iron was damaged. There were chunks missing and huge cracks in multiple pieces. Restorations are boring when all you have to do is sandblast and paint, so I knew it would be even more fun if I had to incorporate another technique like brazi...
Badly Rusted Wheelbarrow Restoration
zhlédnutí 236KPřed 7 měsíci
I finally mustered up the courage to restore this old wheelbarrow that had been sitting around. Most of you don’t know this, but my biggest inspiration for making restoration videos was a video by Restoration and Metal where they *restored* a wheelbarrow. Well… this is my tribute to them. This is my first-time doing sheet metal work of any kind so don’t be too harsh. I’ve never welded in patch ...
100 Year Old Vacuum / Carpet Sweeper Restoration (Remaster?)
zhlédnutí 4,3MPřed rokem
Been working on this restoration for a while. It was challenging and time consuming. Sorry for the large upload gap; I'm still alive. This thing is a marvel of early 20th century engineering. I spent hours trying to find another one made by the same brand online and couldn't find anything. It's a mechanical bellows powered suction carpet brush sweeper. Incorporating actual vacuum technology alo...
Leaky Vintage Floor Jack Restoration (Hein Werner)
zhlédnutí 6MPřed rokem
My dad has had this car jack for years. He bought it used and apparently the previous owner made some interesting modifications to it... They used to use these things to re-bend vehicle frames back into shape after an accident which put a lot of stress on them. Anyway it was leaking pretty bad and wouldn't lift up a car anymore so I decided I'd rebuild it for him and make a restoration video ou...
Restoring my Grandfather's Old Hatchet

I found this when were moving out of our old shop and into the new one. It's my grandfather's old hatchet that was sitting back by all of the gardening equipment. The handle was about to fall off and the stand/holder thing seemed kinda janky to me. Restoring an Old Beat Up Workbench
zhlédnutí 1,5MPřed 2 lety
My dad found a few of these used Lista workbenches for sale and knew they would be a nice addition to the new shop if we restored them, refinished the wood and, repainted the metal. I decided I wanted to restore one of them in a video, so I did. In the new shop, I am moving off of the welding bench and onto my own bench (this one) Instagram: Restoration.Station Facebook: facebook....
Stanley Hand Plane Restoration
zhlédnutí 124KPřed 2 lety
I found this thing at a flee market for a great price. I've always wanted to restore a Stanley hand plane and this thing seemed like a good introductory plane since it's small and manageable. Apologies to all the Japanning purists. I understand your concern with spray paint regardless of the fact that I'm using a pretty high quality "rattle can" product. If I do something else in the future tha...
Antique IBM Fire Alarm Restoration
zhlédnutí 468KPřed 2 lety
I found this Fire Horn/Siren/Alarm thing on the old electronic bay (surprise, surprise) and since I had so much luck with my original fire bell restoration video I thought it would be a good subject for another restoration video. It was sitting on my shelf in a state of disrepair for so long because I didn't know how to recreate the label. I thought about trying to repaint the old label, but it...
Broken Machinist Level Restoration
zhlédnutí 1,1MPřed 2 lety
I wanted one of these Starrett precision machinist levels, but I didn't want to pay over $100 for one. I ended up finding one on eBay with a broken vial that I could easily restore which I thought was the perfect option for me. Also, I got a lathe now which is cool. All I gotta do now is make sure my ways are level because they currently are not... Time to go buy some shims and spend a few hour...
Master Cylinder Restoration/Rebuild
zhlédnutí 486KPřed 2 lety
Finally another installment in the Cherokee XJ project. It's been on the back burner a bit since I've been busy trying to set up and move everything into the new shop we're moving into. Don't ever waste your time trying to rebuild a master cylinder like this. The rebuilt part is like $20, so it's not worth the time of going through all this. Just buy a re-manufactured brake master cylinder like...
Crusty Old Step Stool Restoration
zhlédnutí 1000KPřed 2 lety
I saw this stool one day while perusing the electronic bay and immediately decided I needed to buy and restore it. I spent way too much money for this hunk of junk, but I have zero regrets. This restoration turned out a lot cooler than I expected when I started. It might be one of the only projects from my restoration videos that I use on a regular basis. I didn't really have a plan going into ...
Cobbling Together a Working Go Kart Engine
zhlédnutí 79KPřed 2 lety
Here's the video I promised of me fixing the engine that I showed during my go kart restoration video. Once again the goal was to get it into good working condition and clean it up a bit while spending as little money and time as possible. This isn't really a "restoration" video in my opinion. I'm not really sure what to call it, but I think it came out okay. Instagram: Restoratio...
"Restoring" a Janky Old Go Kart
zhlédnutí 4,2MPřed 2 lety
My dad got this thing for $50 bucks and asked me if I wanted to fix it up.The goal was to restore the go kart for as cheap as possible using supplies we had on hand in the shop if possible. I ended up having to buy a couple things that were broken, but overall I think I achieved the goal. Paint job is 100% Rust-Oleum. Even after all this work, the thing is still a deathtrap with scary handling ...
Vintage Ingersoll Rand Impact Wrench Restoration
zhlédnutí 960KPřed 2 lety
My dad found this years ago when someone was throwing it away. He didn't know if it worked or not, but thought it was cool. I decided to take it out and see if it worked and if it didn't work I would try and restore it. Obviously it didn't or I wouldn't have made a video. You could probably say that this restoration video is more of a glorified deep clean, but whatever. Products used in video: ...

Use a 4" roller with a gloss sleeve. Roll with minimal pressure over the letters you want to paint. It will save you alot of time 🫡

Your mechanic skills are top notch buddy. But respectfully speaking i can't under good conscience call this accurate restoration. Because a accurate restoration is restoring a item or object back to its original pristine from the factory condition.

Nice job! I have an old Porch Glider in about the same shape. I've been wanting to do something better with it for ages, while it just gets worse and worse with time passing. You have inspired me to get off my tookus and get started restoring it, best I can. I have some skills, but your work spurred me to get going! Thank you.

Brazing is done at 900-1200 degrees. A wood stove can possibly get over 900 degrees in some cases. There is potential for the repair to melt out of the crack if the fire gets going a little too high.
