For those that don't know the T sport and GT are exactly the same car with the 2zz engine. (This is in the UK) The GT had lower suspension, better interior, side skirts and a spoiler. This is not the 1zz engine like in America, since the 1zz here is called the VVTI. Or 140.
Who did you expect to win? An aerodynamic sports car? Or A box with 4 wheels? Even if the corolla was 20hp+ it would have lost by the celica for at least 0.3sec.
Hi Pete, I've still got the starlet. It was running a nice Blitz K1-200V with a JAM Racing ECU, cooled with an RX-7 top mount. Never dyno'd but assuming about 200-210bhp at about 1.2 bar. Switched to TD04 now with better results of 13.80 secs. Still got the Celica?

Its an Apexi PowerFC, the giveaway being the FC Commander stuck on the dash.
Stock by stock they're the same, both are equally faster, even Rolla's a bit more faster many times. So in this case Celica with bad launch and wins the race probably not stock

He needs a driver mod, but also cams in these cars don’t respond well without headers and full free flowing exhuast, 3in is best so this doesn’t surprise me at all

Car is very cool in concept. There's a reason these cars were never talked about in their day compared to something absolutely boss like the EP3 type R. They're very bland and boring to drive. degeneratively sluggish acceleration 2nd gear onwards especially at low rpm, crappy brakes, a rough riding car with wallowy handling and just an overall boring drive. Toyota have made some very good cars but this and it's twin the corolla T sport isn't one of them.

You can't hit lift until its up to right temperature any ways the car won't let you
Acceleration wise they are pretty much the same stock, I own a t sport myself and it's such a fun machine to drive, puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it tho I have to be honest the Type R is the better car, everything is just perfect in that car, the gearing, the handling, the looks and that beautiful engine with so much potential, don't get me wrong I love my t sport but it feels more like a corolla with 192 hp and shorter gears where as a type r feels like a real racing machine

It's not about who's favourite car it is it's about power to weight ratio power transfer Toyota has great stats just coming out of the factory may not be the most popular Tune car but it is a really performing car
