Only problem with a fade, is it marks you out as a certain ‘class’ Fade’s are not fashionable in well heeled circles. Neither are tattoos.

I really need help. I have 10-15 cm hair length. I want to shorten 1-2 cm from the ends of the hair. If I use a size 8 clip with a shaver, how many cm will it remove from the hair? Is there a risk of undercutting? It's too hard to shortening with scissors. What I need is shorten 1-2 cm by combing with 8 clip. Is it possible? I worry about that; what if shaver cut all of my hair from the beginning. Is there any risk?

This is really confusing for a newbie, the biggest problem a newbie has is not getting lost in the fade. This technique is more for an advanced eye.

You actually gave me a few tips to simplify some ways that I actually over complicated when cutting my own hair, so that was a blessing to learn. Also, a quick question is ... when it comes down to the electric edge razor to trim the line of my neck and sides of my head, do I have to hold down my ear in order to get that razor to precisely cut the hair that goes around my ear 👂 or is there a way I could do it without holding my ear down being I would need my other hand to hold the mirror 🪞 ?
