They said they wrote the show as "i write one, you write one, we write one", and when you listen to their commentaries and hear their individual backgrounds, you can kind of see it in each episode, who wrote what line, doc and jackson have just enough similarities to have identical senses of humor. i prefer jackson as a person, as a voice actor, his deliveries, his ideas for what the show shoulda, coulda, woulda been, but i always find myself preferring doc's scripts throughout the seasons.

continuity was key for me obsessing over media as a teenager. even as a kid i hated "monster of the week" episodes/plots, ala power rangers. jackie chan adventures pulled it off, but that's 'cuz the talismans were cool. venture bros wasn't the first western cartoon to do it but they did it really well

Hank's earnest ignorance and Jackson Publick's deliveries are key to making a dumb character work. There is only ONE time in the commentaries I can recall Publick saying something in Hank's voice, and it's probably season 4 but could be season 3, spoilers: they're talking about the name Shallow Gravy, and Publick pops off a "it's gotta have a pun!" in Hank's voice that's so perfect.

love you henchman 24. i believe it's the opening to Victor Echo November, where 21 suits up and 24 pulls up in his nissan stanza joining in the epic swell of music, honking his horn escape to the house of mummies part II is easily the best episode of the entire show, I would watch seasons worth of something like that. "you, me, poe, and other me, " such a good line

season 1 is really good, season 2 is my favorite (escape to the house of mummies part II is probably the best episode of the series), season 3 and 4 are a'ight, stopped at season 5.

You forgot the big twist BEFORE the clones: That the titular “Venture Bros.” were Rusty and his flipper-baby brother, JJ. They sold us on that by A) Killing off Hank and Dean B) Completely redoing the title sequence with Rusty and JJ silhouettes where they had Hank and Dean before and C) Explaining why, as you noted before, Hank and Dean had not featured as much. Of course, the clones were a twist of a twist.

He was perfect in every ways you described, but his view of colonialism were 1) over the top and 2) didnt make sense for the time and place. He was ahistorical in his views. But otherwise he's a ten.

The original run of Columbo is fantastic television. It really stands the test of time and there is a lot of love that is apparent from Peter Falk and the crew that worked on the show. The whole show is on Tubi. I believe that Mrs. Columbo is 100% real. Though she doesn't ever appear on screen, others mention seeing her like on the cruise ship episode, Troubled Waters. As to all the stories of his extended family, that's where I think he likes to add some flavor just to fit the crimes he finds himself investigating.

The only staff connection between Venture Bros and Archer is the composer, JG Thirlwell. Thirlwell has been composing for VB since the beginning and he started composing for Archer in season 7 and onward.

Next season has one of my personal favorite episodes. Episode 12 Everybody Comes to Hank's.

This my all time favorite!! At 1st I did not like it because of the strange characters. But after a while I said euh, lets try it. Now EVERY SINGLE YEAR, I watch all seasons at least one time. I am nearly 35 years old and still loving it xD.

I think what really made me decide to get "INTO" Venture Bros was the debut episode of these four characters: Catclops, Girl Hitler, Manic 8 Ball, and Baron Ünderbheit. By that point I knew this universe had no limitations lol, and in a way that was less crass, crude, and distasteful than something like Minoriteam or The Ripping Friends.

not a streaming service but It's free on the adult swim website. the whole thing + the movie along with some promos that ran with it. its been up as long as i can remember propbibly some contract thing when they made it. i dont think its rejon locked either. they have a lot of the adult swim library open for free right there.

This is my favorite season not because its one of the greatest or that its the best but its the season that made me realize that I love it, a real deep rooted love that would only grow deeper and it did. The Venture Bros. is my favorite cartoon/show it's a show that feels like it was made for me and that is what the creator were going for, a show made for you, the guy who gets it.

Believe it or not Im pretty sure a lot of the shows biggest twists, callbacks and suprises werent planned all that much. Im pretty sure they had an outline for where they wanted to go but how they did and when will it happen was done on a whim I heard.

The reason why I love this show is because its one of the only shows that care about the fact you care. I would say everything in the show is what I love about and that is true but the thing I said earlier really tops everything for me. You really can't find this anywhere else, GO TEAM VENTURE!

When the show was coming out the rumor was that they ended up killing off 24 because his voice was a chore to do. It was shocking and disappointing at first to see 24 go, but you must keep watching to see what becomes of 21 without his other half. (And as a bonus it may paint The Moppets in another light for you)

The Moppets really grew on me on subsequent rewatches

Just watched the show a second time and I absolutely have to agree. We so often get to see villains who are either total brutes, or fanatics or evil masterminds. The twisted thing about fowler however is how absolutely atrocious his actions are, but he is still so casual, calm and collected with it. He is incredibly charismatic, jet intimidating and confident, which is something that makes him a very entertaining villain. Not because he is hyper tragic or cartoonishly evil. The church scene made a point with this when he was playing with the spider in his hand. It is so the audience fully expects that he would crush it. By the fact that he doesn't we see that he is a different kind of villain. He does not have the mentality of a big angry kid crushing bugs because he juts can't control his feelings (like many other villains). He also doesn't crush it because he feels the need to show his superiority (like for example Frollo in the Hunchback of notre dame). Fowler sais himself he doesn't need souls. He just doesn't care if other people live or die. They get the treatment that serves his cause. They stand in the way, they die. They are useful, they live. He is even relatively polite to those who are useful to him. He is very socially aware how to treat people to make them do what he wants. He does not loose control at any point. And we hear him admit that this is his motivation. I'd compare him to a cat, but then the spider-theory's wouldn't work out lol. Anyway, I agree I would love to see him interact more with Mizu, because I feel that by interact with each other Mizu will get an important insight in the European colonizers mindset that she will need to maneuver her way trough London.

So about the Monarch not showing up every episode. He was originally intended to be a villain of the week that would probably never show up again, while Baron Underbite I believe was intended more to be the main recurring antagonist. But pretty quickly, the creators realized that the Monarch just kind of clicked with the vibe of the show while Baron Underbite never really did. One very quickly becomes a central character while the other slowly just stops showing up.

Victor Echo November has long been my favorite episode in the series, even if I don’t think it’s really the best.

My favorite pure evil villain of all time (not because of his actions because they are extremely fucked up but because of the way he is written) is probably Judge Holden from blood meridian
