Thanks for the video, a couple comments.. I dropped in mostly for the shoeing infor.. but that twitch looks like a simple walnut cracker (perhaps it is).. but I disagree about having the shoe extend past the hoof all-the-way-around, but agree with having shoe extension on the sides/quarters of the hoof..

Helpful videos, I'll check out more of them.. Now I'm not a farrier, but been shoeing my horses for almost 25 years. Now a horse hoof outside surface wall generally needs to be filed as the grow dis- proportionally thick mostly forward..maybe the Mule doesn't (?). but must keep in mind that the foot will grow unevenly in most cases, and those shoes have been on for a few weeks (?) and it's right to look them over, but they might have been better set when the shoeing job was completed too.. also It looked to me that the shoer didn't set the front shoe too far back, but the front shoe was 1/2 size too large which caused it to extend back too far.. The 4 vs 6 nails per foot might very well vary with the shoe manufacture's hole placements of that chosen model shoe.. now please pardon me.. I have a new mule that I need to trim and shoe

I’ve watched a lot of yalls videos. Got my first 2 mules 2 weeks ago. Always rode horses when I was little but not really learned how to work them. His videos really helping me out. I order the starter kit from him and planning on calling him tomorrow for some questions.

Hi . 7:00 My name is Kevin. I live on the West Coast of Ireland. Weather at the moment is about 18 degrees centigrade and almost dry. We get four seasons every day. I have bred 15.3 Ardennais mare with a 13.3 Jack, due to foal next May. I have never seen a deliberately bred mule or one taller than about 13 hands. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with a mule. I think that l will totally alone with this idea because I think there is not one working mule in this country. When I tell horse men my plan there brain just cannot compute. I have never been across the pond, but cannot think of a better reason to cross than to learn about mules and buy the equipment I need to ride and drive. I am 54 and ready to do the things I want to do. I would love to join a clinic when the time is right. Kind regards Kevin

Hot and bothered in Va. Praying for rain. I have used garlic in the feed from Smart Pak, called Bye, Bye Fly for flies the second summer now and it really seems to help my two mules. It is not expensive either. My red mule seems to be allergic to flies and also gets bumps on his bites. I did not know mules could have Benadryl. Thanks, Steve! 😀

I got mine from Kentucky two years ago .He 14 years old, a little more refined than green broke, trail mule with a wonderful personality steady eddy. $5000.00 My only complaint is the heavy firm strides kinda like riding a jeep. My quarter mule is like riding a Lexus over the trails.

Can you also talk about fistulous withers? I worked at a hack barn and the horses came from the auctions. Some also had strangles which is related. Clean, clean, clean and keep the penicillin on hand. Does it happen with mules too? 😊 Love Marty. Is he married? 😀

I keep mine together. There is no issues at all. We have a great bond, and they pay attention to me. The biggest issues I have, came from trying to follow this advice.

My girls thrive in their own spaces. They are close enough to not feel alone, but single mule space makes them focus on me.

I have my first riding mule after having horses since I was born. I’ve had to learn all over again how to get along with my mule. They think differently and react differently. I thought I need to teach my mule to back up( the man I got her from said she could do it all), but that mule taught me how to get her to back up. I would pull back on the reins like I always did with horses, but I learned that didn’t work with Millie. Just a gentle bump with the reins back towards her shoulders and she backs without a fight. She’s got a lot more to teach me; I’m glad she’s patient with me.
