Teaching snowboarding and training instructors for over 35 years, and I’m still passionate about the sport. I’ve won national titles in both the US and the UK, in Slalom, Giant Slalom and Boardercross. I’m a former Skateboard Slalom World Champion, and Guinness World Record Holder, with my own signature model board. I am a flight attendant with one of the World’s top airlines, and I run my own successful voiceover business ‘Voice of Principle’. I’m a proud father of a wonderful daughter, and I’m lucky to be married to the love of my life.
I have now also returned to plastic scale modeling during the Covid lockdown after a 35 year gap, and absolutely love it. You can see more of my builds on my Instagram pads @Emdee Scale Models. I have a Facebook blog page too, with the same name.

When I started back modeling during the lockdown, I went back to building aircraft kits, it’s what I knew. But then my wife bought me the venerable Tamiya Panther kit, and I reinvented myself firstly as an armor modeler, then pretty immediately afterwards as a diorama builder. This diorama combines everything, in the form of an aircraft diorama, featuring Tamiya’s excellent P38 F/G kit in 1/48t...

This is Part 2 of my build diorama, this is the 'story' episode. “Death of a Tiger” storyline My diorama is set right at the start of the Budapest offensive which began in the Autumn of 1944 and ended on the 13th February 1945, when the Nazi occupation force was finally defeated. In my purely fictional scene, four SS troopers have looted several buildings, jumped into their Horch 4x4 vehicle, a...

As a relatively new armor modeler, I figured that there's a definite "Right of Passage' list. I've already built a Panther and two Shermans, so it was definitely time I built the infamous Tiger Tank. I decided to construct a diorama around the steel beast, and I also wanted an urban scene, to show the tank out of it's ideal element, hence the title. This is a fictional depiction, there were act...

This is my SLA M50 Super Sherman diorama for the Plastic Posse Podcast M3/M4 Group Build for Nationals 2022. The idea was to build as many variations on the M3/M4 chassis to enter the Group Build category at the IPMS Nationals in Omaha, Nebraska, set for July 2022. As there were already plenty of people building vehicles from all the major users of the tanks, I decided to build one that was a l...
Solomon Island Zero WW2

This is my diorama of a Japanese Zero fighter aircraft from WW2, crashed in the jungle on the Solomon Islands, lying undiscovered for decades. I built it as an inexpensive experiment, for a more ambitious project involving a more detailed, and therefore more expensive, kit Tamiya's P38 Lightning. Music was provided by my daughter Maya, on her flute. Her channels simply called 'Maya", if you'd l...
“Broken Down” - a Vietnam diorama in 1/35th scale.

The troops are from the 101st Airborne Division, and it’s the Summer of ‘69. They’re mostly veterans of the Battle of Hamburger Hill, together with a couple of nervous young FNGs, and this is the end of ‘Operation Apache Snow’ in the A Shau Valley. Their M113 ACAV has broken down, so they’re making the most of it and catching their breath for a moment. Some are eating, some reading mail from ho...

A Vietnam era diorama. A group of soldiers, again from the 101st Airborne (I had lots of shoulder badge decals), in an M54 truck. Exhausted and battle weary, they are trying to relax as they head to yet another base. Two black GIs on the road acknowledge the brother sitting in the front cab. A young Vietnamese woman dismounts and walks her bike along this narrow and busy road. The diorama featu...

Nice, why urss has panzerfausts?
It was common for the Russians to use captured panzerfausts as they did not have a good antitank weapon of their own

Martin great Video. I hope you reply. I need your Boot Size for reference to the Board Width.
Hiya! My boot is a US size 9, but I generally ride mid-wide to wide boards because I like to tip it over
@@EmdeeScaleModels Hey!!! Thanks for the reply. My Boot Size is US 9.5. Too bad I can't get a Coiler anymore but I'm looking into other options. Been looking at the Prior BX line.
Binding Angles?

@@EmdeeScaleModels Cool thanks. (Rear Binding looks Positive in the Video 0:45 towards the beginning though?)
Terry Kidwell rides just like Tom Sims did. When he's on the ground, he looks almost identical.
I had the pleasure to ride with both of those gentlemen back in the 80s.
Wonderfull
Thank you! Cheers!

Thanks so much, I appreciate that
Figures very cool painted

Incredible work, I wish I had half the skill and attention to detail you have. A great piece of art work to enjoy and the editing to tell the story was fantastic!
That’s really kind of you Mark, I really appreciate that. Thank you so much 😀 Martin
Ah good times.
Good memories. Sadly a few of the people in it are no longer with us. 😢
That hike out was pretty rough - had to take turns kicking steps in. What a day. I remember the blue glacial ice in places. I can spot Paul Loeffen in the video. He's still around, doing well for himself based on a quick google (CEO of Lightcast Discovery).
Not upset I drew the short straw and ended up having to stay at the resort that day.😮
Amazing results
Thank you! Cheers!
😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done in every way shape and form the detailing in all of this is very spectaculary greatly well done indeed, And the nicely told story line that you set up for all of this was very greatly well done as well Sir!,👌.

A mindblowing result. I really hope you don't mind if i take inspiration for my version of this scene :) i absolutely love the bridge.
Not at all, it makes me really happy that I’ve inspired someone 👍🏾
Thanks for this great video. The camera work is very good - much better than my photos. I had forgotten how good that show was. Truly marvelous builds. Take care.
You’re welcome, it was a great show, hope you can make it to San Marcos!
LOVE the diarama and NONE of us are perfect but the figures could have used a lot more delicate work. I'm no expert by any means. The subject matter is awesome. Just saying the figures could have been better, and yes I know, they are tons of work,
Thanks for the feedback, figures are my weak point, but I have only been doing this three years so I’m trying to get better as I go.
DON'T WORRY ABOUT MY COMMENT. I'VE BEEN DOING THIS ON AND OFF FOR 40YEARS AND SOMETIMES MINE STILL SUCK. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. YOUR DIARAMA IS AN AWESOME SUBJECT. Keep after it. never stop.
Magnifique 👏👏👏👏

Incredible work Martin, an absolute feast for the senses. I only wish I could see it in higher resolution. Any reason for the low res video production?
Thanks David, I’ll check into that!
If you hit the little cog when you start watching, you can change the video quality to higher resolution, that may help . Thanks.
@@EmdeeScaleModels 360p isn't great for viewing finer detail in videos, maybe you want to think about outputting you vids at a higher res so we can see all of that glorious detail!

Hello, sir! This is not just a model diorama, this is a pure work lf ART! i'm so glad i've found this gem of modelling!! 💯💯💯👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much that is really kind of you, I really appreciate that.
Just amazing. Cannot begin to imagine how much work you put into this.
Thanks Tim, I really appreciate that!
its an absolute work of art mate .... but sorry to nit pick I'm not a ballistics exspert but bullet holes front of german jeep could only happen like that if shot from straight above . if fired from street level bullets would have deflected causing at the most a small tear at least just a scar . fired from first floor building at most an angled hole pushing some metal to front making a ridge at least a dent deepest part at front of impact sorry lol please don't roast me . its still a beautiful work of art
Thanks Rob, that’s super interesting, thanks for sharing your knowledge! 👍🏾
@@EmdeeScaleModels no problem like i said i aint no expert . keep up the work mate like i said its art yours is up there with the best with the lil details and the story it tells

Thanks Martin, glad you liked it. I’m quite a quick builder when I get going…it was just under 3 months in total.
Absolutely fantastic work
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that.
What would make this dio really pop, is to take b/w pics. I'm pretty sure it would look like reel stills from programs like World At War. Super details, all around great work!!!!
Actually, I did take some. Check out my page on Facebook, Emdee Scale Models.
You did such a good job on everything.. wow! Unreal. I recently read Otto Carius's book.. Tigers in the Mud. I think it was the 503rd Heavy Panzer that he was with in the Budapest area towards the end of the war. What's the unit insignia on this tank?
Thanks so much! I left the markings pretty vague, I probably need to go back and check. It was actually King Tigers in Budapest, rather than Tiger I’s, but I used artistic license…plus I only had a kit of the I. 🤣
@@EmdeeScaleModels Ah, that's right.. they were King Tigers in Budapest.. Richard Von Rosen talks about their operations in Budapest on the King Tigers in his book Panzer Ace.. I was confusing his book with Otto Carius's. Anyways, beautiful job!
